LIKES:
Obviously she has a massive love for all things feline, a recent vacation to South Africa with her parents almost turned into disaster when the locals starting catching on that the wild cats in the area started following her around and they thought she was going to be dinner. It was better than explaining that she had a connection to the beasts and they would probably follow her to the ends of the earth. Muggles, eh? Another of her passions is science, particularly biology as Leanora has aspirations to be something of a vet or studier of wild cats. Bill Weasley is one of her biggest role models for his work with dragons. Coming from a family of purebloods, the girl has large fascination with the muggle world. Never really understanding or agreeing with the stigma of being a pureblood, Leanora prefers to study muggle science and inventions.
DISLIKES:
Her name. She would rather you call her Leah than her draconian first name hailing back from a grandmother five generations or something like that. Call her Leanora and you’ll earn a quick look at her scary side. Like yin and yang, Leah distains to be in the company of a filthy dog. Nor does she seem to get on too well with ‘dog people’. While she is all for working on a big messy experiment, she will not sleep a wink until she is certain every speck of grime and bacteria is completely buffed away. Everything has its place and needs to be put perfectly back in that place once it has ceased to be in use. She is quite OCD about cleanliness.
BIGGEST FEAR:
Leah suffers from a little fear of large crowds. Times in the great hall make her very uncomfortable. Luckily she is a bit of a loner and can quietly slip away from meal times without too much notice. She prefers the solitude of her dorm or studying out in the vast grounds.
PERSONALITY:
She is your typical crazy cat lady in her younger years without the disregard for personal hygiene. She is very agile and deliberate from the words that come from her mouth to the way she moves her body. You can say she is quite predictable as she will never act out of impulse, preferring to stick to her habits. Because of this she is seen as a very quiet, shy person. But don’t be fooled into thinking she isn’t aware of everything that is happening around her. She is a very untrusting individual and is constantly testing the people that try to get close to her. This may have stemmed from being an only child and was left to her own devices for most of her childhood. She has very little tolerance for someone once they begin to annoy her. Although she doesn’t say much she is not afraid to show her temper if provoked. Leah is quite mature for her age and doesn’t see the need to trouble her time with the dramas that being a teenager brings. If you come to her with questions who she likes or gossip you will be met with a raised brow before she turns her heel on you.

MOTHER: aquila verona venn nee sylas
FATHER: corvus omega venn
SIBLINGS: none
HISTORY:
The only child of proud Aquila and Corvus Venn, Leanora Arista Venn was born at the height of a full moon on the first of October. Aquila begrudgingly accepted to one child as her appearance had always been the most important thing to her. Leanora grew up in ancient (to her at least) gothic Venn Manor situated atop a baron hill surrounded by lush forest, miles from muggle civilisation. The flaxen haired little girl was left to her own devices a lot as her mother preferred to her posh clique of pedigree witches and her father was always preoccupied with his business. And he certainly had no time for a daughter. Not that Leah minded all that much. She could run around the forest playing make believe and befriending the cats that seemed to flock from nowhere to find her. At first her parents and her governess were a bit concerned that this solitary life had caused little Leah to go a little insane to be talking to her cats. Magic doctors confirmed their bright young girl had been granted the gift of communication with felines. That was all Aquila needed to hear, that her girl was special in a good way and not bad and her attentions were once again turned away from Leah. The girl was very inquisitive and quickly found ways to see a bit more of the world through books, even sweet talking her governess into collecting a few books from Diagon Alley and even muggle stores, swearing not to breathe a word to her parents. She was fascinated by these creatures and how hard they had to work to discover things without the aid of magic. The day she received her Hogwarts letter was met with mixed feelings. She was grateful to escape her family home and see new things, but she had always been by herself. Her cousins, when they came to visit, where either a couple years older or younger than her and she had been privately tutored by stiff old Mr Benedictine until she was old enough to go to Hogwarts. She had never had to go make friends with people her own age. Her first years were frightening and awkward for her although she was favoured by her professors because she was like a sponge when it came to learning and in their eyes she was the perfect student. Her parents never cared for the grades she earned, more worried that she would not get into a nice pure crowd at school and find a suitable husband afterwards. In their eyes, because she was a female, her duty was to be found by a man with as upstanding a bloodline as hers. Sexism exists everywhere. Leah found rebellion by studying hard and distancing herself from boys and she is determined to forge a career for herself outside of school without the aid of anyone else.
