five traits
affectionate you do not always have big opinion of yourself. nontheless, you would not hesitate to say 'yes' when someone asks you if you are loved by people around you. it is true, though, that you are not always the most lovable person in the world, because of every human's nature: temper and ego. however, it is utterly undeniable that you have been making efforts to be one all the time. small deeds count. you are nice and polite to everyone, from children to elders, regardless of their blood status, because you are well aware of your own place in the society. never raising your voice or giving orders, you unfailingly give them pleasant feelings when being around you. gradually, it has become a habit for you to smile when the world smiles.
passionate there is fire in everything you do - the undefeatable fire. fierce and unstoppable, that is you. you dare to love and dare to hate. emotions and feelings are like tidal waves in your life. you cannot control them, but you do not want to control them either, because if you did, you would be lying to yourself. you cry when you are sad, smile when you are happy - live like a human should do. never has you chosen to change for anyone. there are times you put your heart and soul in a wrong place and end up getting hurt. but with a heart and soul that were made to love, you have no regrets, as scars make you grow.
determined/obstinate you do not know second thoughts. once you have set your heart on something, you will not hesitate to go to the end of the earth for it. if life is the fire, then you are the iron. fire cannot destroy iron, it is in fire that iron is forged. born and raised in a not-so-loving family, you have tasted what is called bitterness and failure. yet, it only makes you more stubborn and determined to make a brighter future for your own. you have learned to stand up from every fall and to never walk away when life pushes you to your breaking point. that is you, wol ryung - the iron forged in, and by fire.
genuine there is, of course, a reason for your being sorted in hufflepuff. you are an open book that everyone can easily read, the crystal-clear water that everyone can easily see through. that fact has never disturbed you; genuinely, you are glad that the world does not have many difficulties understanding you as you are simply too lazy to act any differently from who you are or to try to explain to people who you want them to think that you are. and you will not bother to stay polite if someone gives you something to be rude about.
faithful there are a lot of things you need to figure out in your life; however, you have never struggled to find out where you stand. trust is not something that can be gained in a day or two; and you were taught not to ignore its value. and being faithful is not only about being trustworthy to the ones you care about; it is also about trusting them. "i have faith in you" - impulsive as you are, you are extremely careful when it comes to saying that to a person. but once it has been spoken, that means you trust him with your life.
four memories
the misery you were born at a midsummer night, six years after your mother had given birth to your older brother, hee chul, who was, and still is the heir to the family's business. your father said that the world had seemed brighter since the moment he heard your first cry. but the wheel of fortune had turned when your mother grew weaker and weaker after your birth. then, at a midsummer night a year later, she fell asleep and never woke up again. your father and your brother's world fell apart yet you were too young to realize that. nobody blamed you for the misery - at least your father did not although you have been assuming that he did. though he tries not to make it so obvious, still you know the man has been making efforts to avoid seeing your face since the funeral, simply because you look so much like your mother. it had made your little heart sink even before you knew what pain really was. however, it is not what hurts the most. you have never admitted it; but your brother eyes and the look on his face cut you even deeper than knives. it was your fault that "his" mother's died -he told you. you could not give an explanation, as it was the truth - you were the one to take the blame. the distance between you and hee chul grew larger and larger with the passage of time. now it is an impassable hole separating him from you. you want to reach, but he is just so far away. the last hope to mend the broken hearts was taken away when you turned six and your differences commenced to become obvious to the naked eye. magic. it came to you like a midsummer night's dream. at first it was illusions, which were thought to be of your imagination. gradually, it got stronger. and it could not be hidden anymore. everyone in the family freaked out, you freaked out, when seeing you making the bush of roses in the garden bloom in the deadly cold of winter. your father tried to keep it a secret; but nothing could stop a look of disgust from coming over hee chul's face. "a freak" - he crowned you. there was no alternative for you but to run away. still, you remember seeing him staring at the roses for hour, mumbling something like a spell. for a very long time, you could not think about yourself as anything other than a disappointment. then again, life was not overwhelmingly cruel to you, or your father to be exact. your differences, somehow, had led the miserable man to finding his happiness again. after the fall of 2015, there have been no longer three seats at the dinning table but five instead, owing to the joining of a beautiful woman and her daughter in the family, who are now your step-mother and your step-sister. chung jo - your step sister who is at the same age with you and soon to be your best friends - is a lovable girl, although she can be bossy at times. and most importantly, she can do magic, too. a father with the burden of his abnormal son and a mother with the worries about the future of her special daughter. they found each other in this messy world like that. and you, wol ryung, have found a world that you belong to.
the hogwarts as soon as you started to consider getting rid of the whole sorcery thing, an unexpected visit changed everything, including your life and chung jo's life. the last week of august in 2016 a man appeared at your door in strange clothes as if he was going to a halloween party. he came with two letters and a ton of odd stories about a wizarding world that neither you nor chung jo knew about. needless to say your father and your step-mother were overjoyed to see their children finally be accepted. preparations for you and her to attend hogwarts were proceeded shortly after the visit. the whole family moved to england so that it would be for convenient for you and her to study. a whole new world was opened up for you. and for the first time, you did not feel like an outsider. never can you forget the moment you held your first wand. your hand was sweating but nothing could hold back the excitements when you wave it for the first time. for once, everything felt right. on the arrival of september, your magical journey officially began at the king cross. kissing your family goodbye and stepping away from their arms, you got on the train. no looking back, no regrets. you left everything that had burdened you behind, even the heartbreaking look on your brother's face. with you and chung jo gone, the world was all his. the sorting ceremony took place shortly that day. chung jo's name was called first. and much to her delight, she was placed in ravenclaw. then came your turn eventually. "hufflepuff!" the sorting hat shouted without hesitations. during your time at hogwarts, school was even more of a home to you than your own family. hogwarts was where you had some inalienable values that no one could take away from you. though being a muggleborn wizard turned out to be a reason for some people to look down on you, you did not fail to make them watch out for you. you got into a quarrel or two once in a blue moon and ended up at detention several times. but always with head held high you walked.
the dragons like a first-grade child, in your first year, you liked almost every subject, except for history as it did not get any better even in the wizarding world. you soon realized one thing: even with magic, studying was not easy at all. ultimately, the list of your favorite subjects was narrowed down to three: transfiguration, herbology and care of magical creatures. in the three of them, care of magical creatures captured your attention the most. while people tended to spend their time in the lirary of the quidditch pitch, you found some little happiness for your own at the gamekeeper's shelter, listening to his stories about the magnificent creatures he had seen in his unbelievale life. you were fond of all of them - the magical creations of god. but nothing dazzled you as dragons. you had a chance to saw them with your mortal eyes in a visit to a dragon trainer's place with hagrid in your second year. you were virtually breathless. standing tall and prideful were, the dragons looked at you with curiosity filled their eyes, as if they were trying to read your mind. you did not know about souls, but they did have a beating heart that felt, too. and somehow, you saw your own reflection in their eyes. the feeling was just like finally reuniting with something you had lost so long ago. you missed them - the ones you had never met before. after that day, you stopped by the trainer's home more often, just to get to see them. you became even more. at the end of every visit, something grew stronger inside your soul. something called passion. the path, which once had been so misty to you, became clearer than ever. the path that led to the dragons.
the smile you first saw her at the sorting ceremony in your second year. all she was to you was a little girl with a smile of sunshine. you saw her in the common room sometimes. very quietly, her presence became indispensable in your life without your notice. still, you never spoke a word to the girl, because she was only a girl, like every other girl. but she was not. it took you quite a while to realize that. you remembered almost dropping your jaws when seeing her on her broomsticks, eyes focusing on her targets, lips pursed determinedly. the crowd nearly stopped breathing as they watched the seekers chasing after the golden snitch. at the end of the game, they so enthusiastically discussed about the seekers' spectacular moves. but you had no idea, because you had been too busy watching the little keeper of your house team. now, whenever you close your eyes, you can still see her smile, as if she needed no one to notice, the only thing she cared about was her team and her love for quidditch. it dawned on you that you had seen the smile somewhere. oh yes, in the mirror, when you chose to attach your life with the dragons. the smile of dedication and passion. since then, the little keeper was no longer anyone, she was amethyst sanders, and she was special. "you were amazing up there." said you to her when you saw her walk out of the quidditch pitch. "nice to meet you, i'm perry." she was not anyone. she was amethyst sanders.
three faces
hee chul since you took your first step, you had been following hee chul around, calling his name, trying to reach for his hand, hoping that he would lift you up. but all he has done is putting you down. he claimed that you have stolen everything away from him. it was your fault that he lost "his" mother. it hurt you deeply to hear the blames. but you do not hold grudge or want to pay him back in his own coin, merely because you are too lazy to hate someone. want it or not, he is your brother, the one that you look up to and adore so much. and it will forever stay that way, come what may. blood is thicker than water. you trust that with your life. the grey clouds cannot cover the skies forever, the storms have to go away someday. you will be waiting, to see your brother's smile again.
chung jo despite being only 5'3'' weighing only 104 lbs, your step-sister really knows how to make people look up at her. independent, strong and prideful, she never lets anyone protect her or hides behind anyone's back. many a time you want to keep her safe, but it always turned out that you are the one needing her rescue. it seems that she possesses a natural talent to get on people's nerves with her witty and sarcastic comments. she tends to act like an older sister to you, although she is half a year younger than you. most of your conversations with her are about who should be the older one of the two. the girl likes giving orders but she knows the right things, too. she can be annoying, but her heart is the purest heart you have ever seen. and you will never let anyone break that heart.
amethyst the end of a quidditch game in your third year was the begining of something new - something you had never been through before. the little keeper became your best friend. she was the one you trusted with your life. and for years her position in your heart had sayed the same. you noticed, but tried to avoid, the frantic heartbeats of yours when she was around, the anxiety when you looked into her eyes. you tried to convince yourself to believe that it was just because she had grown into a beautiful young lady instead of a little girl you had known years ago. but it was much harder then to tell her about the girls you had your eyes on, though it had been so easy when you and her were younger. her friendly embrace became extraordinarily precious to you. every second that you spent with her was treasure. and one morning of your seventh year at hogwarts, you realized that you could not live without her. that afternoon, when classes had ended, you waited for her in hufflepuff's common, pacing back and forth anxiously as you tried to gather the courage to tell her what you had figured out. then she came in with a smile on her face. a smile which you had never seen before. "jon." she told you about a name which you had never heard of. by looking into her eyes, you knew that you were too late. your heart sank. but you wished her happiness. after graduation, you worked as a dragon trainer's apprentice, trying to prepare to walk on the path you had chosen. but there was one path you crave, too. the path on which she would walk by your side. it was not by chance that you applied for the cashier position of honeyduke's sweetshop. it was all because of her - amethyst sanders.
two fears
the frozen heart it could never be mended - your relationship with hee chul. it would be unfair to say that you have stopped trying, because you have not. you tried to be home every christmas, only to take your brother's coldness. there is always an excuse for him to hate you. that you are a freak. that you are different. that you killed your mother. that you are special. you loved hee chul and fear him at the same time. you are afraid of the way he looks at you - emotionless. it would be better if there were hatred instead of nothing. nothing means that you have lost everything, that you cannot heal his wound and your own, that you will be alone in the world.
the loss you are selfish in some respects. but you have a reasonable reason to be that way. having lost so much in your life, you no longer have the courage to endure another loss in your life. you always make sure to not let go of what you hold dear for fear that they will leave you the moment you let go. hee chul, amethyst, chung jo, your family, the dragons. your little world revolves around them. what could you do without them? so please, don't go.
