HISTORY: Oliver Summerby was born as the middle child to Derek and Michelle Summerby, both of whom are Muggles. To their surprise, though, all three of their children were magical. The youngest child, Emmaline, was born deaf, and the whole family had to adapt to that. This meant that all of them, including Oliver, learnt sign language in order to be able to easily communicate with her. While growing up, Julian was the older brother who generally set a good example, while Emma was the younger sister who Ollie always felt quite protective of. In general the three of them got on well, aside from the standard occasional sibling fights.
While Julian didn't take too much after their father in terms of personality, this fell mostly to Ollie. He picked up on the drive that his father had, and quickly developed a similar one himself. He always strives to do the best he can in anything, and this attitude got him sorted into Ravenclaw when he was old enough to go to Hogwarts. This meant that he ended up in a different house to each of his siblings, both of whom got sorted into Hufflepuff.
Ravenclaw was a very good fit for Ollie. He settled in there quickly and excelled in most of his classes. He was much happier at the school once his second year came and his younger sister was able to come to Hogwarts as well - he had missed her in the year away and was glad that he would be able to see her more again now that she was at Hogwarts. He was also glad that he would be able to be there to look after her if she had any issues at school due to being deaf - and this turned out to be something that came up a few times for her, getting bullied at times for it. Ollie tried to help her out any time he could in these situations, but obviously he couldn't be there all the time. Still, they spent quite a lot of time together and he did as well as he could as an older brother to look after her.
As his school years went on, he continued to do well at his classes and build a solid friendship base, particularly within Ravenclaw. He also joined the Quidditch team as a Keeper, enjoying being active as he found that physical activity was a great way to take a break from study and pushing himself mentally. Ollie always drives himself to be the best he can at anything he does - and this attitude can cause him to burn out or to put too much pressure on himself at times, so it is something he needs to continually be careful of. This is something that Emmaline often reminds him of, trying to get him to slow down and lessen his expectations on himself.
He is very interested in girls but at this stage hasn't had a girlfriend yet. Partly this is due to him spending a lot of time with other commitments, but it is definitely something he would like to have happen.
