HISTORY: Not much could be said about Beth's history. For the first five years of her life she was a happy little girl with a doting father and a loving mother living in Seoul, South Korea. Both her parents were of upperclass decent so most anything she could ever want was hers. Needless to say at first she never let this get to her. She wasn't a snooty brat nor a spoiled one for that matter. Everything was perfect. The summer after her fifth birthday, however, she received devastating news. Her father was in an accident while visiting her aunt and uncle in England. It went without saying that her and her mother went into full grieving for nearly a year. It wasn't until almost the next summer when Gemma, her mother, put on a straight face and continued her work, that year becoming the top designer for all of Korea. But the fact that her mother could so easily put on a straight face disgusted Beth. Did her mother not care about what really happened to her father? Was he just another face to her? Did he really mean so little to her? Her anger led to the first discovery that she was different.
It started out as nothing more then random items falling down when she was angry. Gemma always thought it was just her Daughter's rage that was offsetting the entire house. But it continued to escalate, even getting to the point where the stove would turn on and blast unnatural heat. Beth finally figured out that all those happenings were because of her when she wished for a chocolate chip cookie and all of a sudden it was there. After several experiments she was sure. She was cusing things to happen. Her mother realized it too. She told Beth to conceal her "Unnatural ability" for it would most likely strike fear into others. Being the kind-hearted person she was, she unwillingly gave into her mother's wishes.
After the fall of 2015, when she was only ten, Her mother announced her rushed marriage to the Goo family. A prominent family with lots of money. Initially shocked and quite upset over this new development, Beth accepted it and took on the Goo name with grace. Not long after they all moved in together, she befriended the youngest Goo, who was her age. Wol Ryung was his traditional name, but she enjoyed his other name, Peregrine, more. Not even months after they befriended one another they both discovered each other's abilities. This delighted Beth and allowed her to befriend Perry even further. Finally there was someone like her. She wasn't alone.
By next summer they were visited by Beth's Uncle, an Englishmen named Keith Harmon. She remembered him from the nearly distant wedding of her mother's sister and the man that was standing before them now. He clearly never had interest to visit his only niece so she was curious about his visit. He visited first with Perry's father and Beth's mother. Hours past and even though her and Perry were trying their best to eavesdrop it was all in vain through the large oak doors of the house. When all three emerged, Uncle Keith announced something strange but familiar to Beth and Perry. He was a wizard. Of course questions flew as to how was this possible but he raised a steady hand in protest. He explained that both Beth and Perry were as well respectfully a witch and wizard themselves and that they were of schooling age to heighten their abilities. He also explained though the Asian division of witchcraft and wizardry schooling was one of the top on the list, he wished for better for his niece and step-nephew. He concluded with that her and Perry would be joining him back to England and would start their schooling there. To their utter amazement, their parents had agreed. For Beth all the information at once was weakening but also exhilarating. Her and Perry were now no longer the only "special" people in the world. He presented them letters and announced they were leaving in a few short days.
So after the trip to London and the last few months to fine tune their English, Hogwarts became a new adventure for both of them.
Hogwarts life for Beth was easy to say the least. After being sorted into Slytherin, she spared no time in delving into her studies. She wanted to be the best. End of story. Otherwise she might not have been in Slytherin to begin with. A straight E student from the beginning, Beth only had one slight offsetting thing about her. She didn't make friends. By this time she realized though there was more of "her kind" out there, she was now no longer special. This angered her. So making friends while trying to study was the least of her so-called "problems". She wanted to excel.
In honesty the only "friend" she found was in her step-brother. Perry turned out to be an interesting character in not only a general sense but a emotional sense. She never saw him developing such an interest in dragons as he did but she accepted it. He was also an interesting creature when it came to his taste in women. In their second year a young Asian girl, Amethyst her name was, stole his heart without the girl ever knowing. But Beth knew. Perry constantly divulged his thoughts about her to Beth. It sickened her. She knew Amethyst didn't think of her brother in that way, in fact only a few years later she spotted her and another Asian boy kissing quite passionately. But she couldnt bare to tell her brother. She had to protect him no matter what. Even if to protect him she willingly put him in a fantasy that he started for himself.
When her last year of schooling came around, she was asked what position of work she wanted to go into. She didn't hesitate. "I want to work directly under the minister." It was her bold choice of employment that intrigued the ministry to come interview her. It was only winter when that happened but already they offered the position of Junior Assitant to the Minister of Magic. It was a coveted position. Not all who had asked for it had gotten it. But it had just so happened that the position was opened and her credentials and grade average was more then enough for them to accept her. She was moving up and out. By that summer of her graduation she was named as one of the best Junior Assitants the ministry had ever seen.
Though this title made her glad, she wanted more...company even to share her excitement. So while juggling her demanding job she is now looking for a suitor. But is such a man out there that can stand her and match her high standards?
