It was a dark night when Astoria was working a extra shift. Cinderella just left the office so she was all alone. She was busy with some papers, as she looked outside. It started to rain as that wasn't great, but Astoria didn't mind that at all. She loved those rainy days. She wasn't going to be home soon, so Draco could hopefully sleep well. It was strange, he tried his best back then to become her boyfriend and later husband, but something was missing after they got Scorpius. He took too much time spending with their son, and they had a fight. She could remember everything, and if it was the rain or not, flashbacks soon took over her thoughts.
It was almost 20 years probably ago when Draco met Astoria. Astoria was young, she just got away from Hogwarts, and started a job in the Ministry. Often she got invitations from Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy to come to parties. She never liked Lucius, not because of his history or his hate for non-purebloods. It was more the fact that Lucius personality bumped against hers. But as soon as she accepted a party invitation, her older sister Daphne liked to bring them closer. It was weird too, Daphne was the same age as Draco, both in Slytherin back then, so she never understood why Daphne was pushing Astoria so much to Draco. The plan worked at least as sooner or later after the party Draco kept "stalking" her. She first didn't notice it, but Draco tried his best for her, and so she soon accepted it. A few years later they married. Daphne was all happy about it, and her mother, as they planned the wedding.
Everything was going so well Daphne thought as she was getting the person that loved her, not because she was a pureblood, rich or anything. He was a person that could open her heart. The only problem was her family in law. She didn't mind Narcissa, she was a lovely Mother in law. No one could replace her that was sure, but her father in law. Oh did she hate him. Always trying to bring Astoria to her last end. Driving her into having children, and using her function to climb up into the Ministry.
A few years later it happened. Astoria became pregnant of her only son. Both didn't know what it was going to be, until Scorpius got born. It was a son. All that Draco wanted was a son. Astoria wanted a daughter too, someone Scorpius could play with and being around, but Draco didn't want more. He just wanted a person that could take over the Malfoy name. Lucius was proud to have a Grandson, and they both spoiled him when it was needed. It was then that Astoria started to get left alone. She spend time with her son when it could. Giving the love that his son needed from her, but the rest did Draco. Many times Astoria fleet away. She spend times in the Ministry, in her office crying. She lost her husband and child. Her child was important but it felt like Draco was pushing her away, and her child.
Draco changed after that. He soon found out what was happening with Astoria. He took the job as Senior Secretary and he found her crying in a office. That was when he changed. He was going to be there for Astoria no matter what would happen and he wanted to be a good husband. Astoria was happy that he changed and she could spend more time with her son now.
A loud thunder was heard as Astoria got out of her thoughts. She looked around as she saw lightning and the rain. "Great I have to walk into this mess to home."She said. "Or I just stay here at the ministry and work further and probably sleep here"She said as she looked around. She saw a picture of her son. Now at his 7th year, soon going away from Hogwarts. She was proud to have a son. Even if he was only child, she was going to give him all the support and love he needed. In the late nights hugging him, and having talks about everything. She was there to support him and she always will.
