Dathan anxiously awaited the day his dearest Morgaine was to move in. He spared no expense to hire movers to bring any and all heavy or bulky items from her original office to the one set up in Borgin and Burkes. The only things Dathan had them not bring were any private items that his best friend and sinister soul mate did not want strange hands to touch. With the aid of the brute strength of the movers as well as magic, Morgaine's new place would be set up in now time.
To welcome Morgaine, Dathan had a wrapped gift placed in her new bedroom. Inside was no magical item, but a mere extravagant piece of jewelry- an emerald skull ring with diamond eyes. He suited Morgaine. It looked dark and wicked, yet beautiful. There would be more gifts to come as Dathan would buy the world for Morgaine if he could.
As the movers left, Dathan and his wolf Eligos stood by one another. The wolf looked up at his master.
"Morgaine is to live with us, master, for good and all?" asked the canine.
"For good and all, Eligos," said Burke. "She'll be arriving soon. We must plan out the dinner arrangements for later."
Dinner would be easy, as Dathan was going to take her to the same place where Morgaine had taken him some time before.

Morgaine oversaw the movers on her end, watching disdainfully as they clumsily handled her furniture. She was glad it was only her office stuff, not things worth much either financially or sentimentally. One of the fools almost dropped her chair. No words were needed; her contemptuously raised eyebrow told him he would be lucky if he got paid if he actually broke anything. He mumbled his apologies and averted his gaze as he kept working. Morgaine just rolled her eyes, arms crossed. Samsara had vanished all morning, but now he slunk out from the bushes and wound his way around her legs, mewing and watching the movers with her. He turned his head up to glare at her, and she didn't need animal communication to know he was judging her. She stared back coolly, and he looked away and sat at her feet, his tail wrapped around himself.
"Almost done, ma'am. If you'd like to pack your personal items, we can move this stuff... ah..." Under both Morgaine and Samsara's cold eyes, the mover faltered. "Or... you could... umm..."
"That would be best," she replied curtly. The man scuttled off and she followed him with her eyes, her lip curling. She hadn't needed to be forceful in telling them which items to move and which to leave. Her private nature, and the lengths she would go to to satisfy it, were all but legendary among service people. She glanced down at Samsara. He waited expectantly.
"There is a wolf living at the shop already. He is my friend as much as Dathan is. You will be as kind and pleasant as you are capable of, or I will send you to live with Mother and Father. If you are totally unable to coexist with him despite all your efforts, you are to stay out of each others' way." Morgaine's parents owned several pampered, ill-tempered cats, fat and fluffy and amazingly conceited. Their indoor, civilised lifestyle was the opposite of Samsara's wild, savage nature. Though she had never said so to anyone, his primal behaviour was the reason she loved him and kept him. It would not work well in the middle of the city though, even in Knockturn Alley. Samsara bristled and stalked off. Morgaine sighed quietly. Her own wild side would need frequent freedom as well, she suspected. She joined the movers as they prepared to take her belongings to the shop. At the last moment, Samsara ran out of one of his numerous hiding places and leaped into her arms.
At the shop, they left the movers to it and went to find Dathan, Samsara perched precariously on her shoulder, his eyes darting every which way.

Dathan had also told Eligos to be civil to the cat. The wolf was obedient to both him and Morgaine, so that would not be a problem. After all, he had plenty of other fun things to hunt down in the alley. On the plus side, Eligos considered that he and the cat could befriend one another and become quite a duo of their own, dark champions over the pathetic animals of the alley.
Dathan's eye lit up when he saw Morgaine approach. He stepped over and took her hands, kissing the one on the right. Dathan was at his most frightening when he was with Morgaine. The reason behind this was that he showed something he rarely ever showed... his humanity. It was frigntening because Merlin only knew what kind of monster he would become if something ever happened to the woman. There would be a bloodbath for sure.
"My dearest Morgaine," he said softly. "You don't know how happy I am this night. We are finally one... a powerful union. That and you have been officially inducted into the Black Army. You will soon see the wonders of our mistress' great vision. Come, my friend. Dinner awaits us."

Morgaine smiled warmly, glad to see both Dathan and Eligos. Samsara glared at the wolf, despite his good behaviour, and Morgaine shot the cat a warning look. He jumped down and started to cautiously sniff Eligos, his eyes narrowed in curiousity.
"Dathan," she replied. "The hours have stretched, but I'm here, at last. I look forward to the great and terrible wonders we will witness and assist." As she kissed him lightly on the cheek, she considered whether or not to tell him about Isolde, but decide it could wait until after she'd settled in a little. "Just let me unpack some things and make sure these two don't squabble and we can eat. I want to ensure none of those idiot movers have broken anything," she said, not bothering to lower her voice as she insulted the movers. "I trust we will be alone for dinner?" That was about as suggestive or possessive as Morgaine ever got, but she knew Dathan would understand her desire for privacy. They were not just business associates, after all.

Eligos looked back at the cat, but not in a hostile manner. He would dare cause trouble with the feline in front of his master and mistress. And Morgaine was indeed his mistress now. He then simply looked back at Dathan and Morgaine, no longer paying the cat any mind.
"Take your time, my dearest," he said, kissing her hand. "I'm sending an owl to our restaurant to make sure all in order when we arrive." He then looked at the two animals. "Eligos knows to behave. I highly doubt he'll even acknowledge Samsara while we're gone. If he gets aggressive, he'll hunt down some rats."
He then watched the movers.
"They'd be fools to be clumsy," he said. "According to the contract I prepared, they'll be denied a certain amount of pay for every mistake they make... and most who do such work in this alley try not to make mistakes anyway."
He then offered his arm to her.
"Come inside, my dearest, and we'll have a cup of tea while we wait," he said. "I purchased your favorite. We can also discuss a free matters regarding out new mutual friends." With Morgaine now in the know about the Black Army, they were a number of things Dathan needed to relay to her.

Morgaine cast one more look at Samsara as she scratched Eligos behind the ears, as glad to see him as to see Dathan. "It's not him I worry about," she replied as she straightened up, but she knew Samsara would never be stupid enough to take on a wolf, especially one like Eligos. If he did, it was his own fault if he got hurt or killed. She gave the movers an icy look as she took Dathan's arm, then turned her head towards him, smiling in delight, as they went inside. "Arabian Grey? But it's so expensive! My dearest, how you spoil me." She kissed him lightly on the cheek, then grew more serious as their discussion turned to business. "Yes, I think we should. I understand the importance of giving a proper education to the next generation, but I think we should feel out for some more veterans. Too many raw recruits can panic in the heat of battle without a steadying influence amongst their ranks." She knew she didn't have to tell Dathan, but at times her fondness for the study of bloody wars of the past slipped out. @dathan

(Assuming this takes place pre- Cora escape, so this post should make sense, ) Eligos relished the pet from Morgaine, happy that she would remain there this time to give him more attention. He would stay by her side until the end as he would Dathan's. "Nothing will ever be too good for you, my dearest," said Dathan. "And some day I'll be able to give you the world."
Dathan nodded when Morgaine spoke of obtaining older recruits. "I could not agree more," he said. "But fear not, my dearest, for we do have several in our ranks already, including spies in the Ministry itself. Not only that, I myself am about to orchestrate the escape of Cora Veltrino from Azkaban. And it is she who will provide us the key ingredient for a Draught that will aid us in bringing Hogwarts down." Dathan sighed. "But I suppose the Dark Lady has uses for the younger recruits. If anything, they preserve the future for the Black Army. After all, unless we find the secrets to immortality, none of us will be able to reign forever." Dathan didn't fear death itself, but he did fear losing power. But at least now he knew when he passed on, he could hand his power over to Morgaine, the one person he trusted more than any other. @morgaine

Morgaine let some of her coldness melt from her eyes as he said he would give her the world, one day. It wasn't much, but, like Isolde, emotional declarations were not part of the accepted repertoire of her family's upbringing. Still, that was the beauty of their relationship, to her; that he not only accepted it, but loved her anyway. She almost let herself say it, but her habits were too well ingrained. She knew he knew. She looked up sharply at him when he mention Cora, though. "Veltrino? Do you mean...?" She unconsciously touched the beautiful jewel at her throat. Of course she knew that such a gem had a colourful history, but she hadn't heard anything, really, of Vittoria Veltrino's bloodline for at least a few years, and even then it was nothing huge - the occasional death or birth here, the subsequent incarcerations of a few there. She was well used to that kind of thing, growing up as she had. "Perhaps I should stop wearing this. I've heard that the Veltrino family have always had a touch of madness. This gem and its powers are a good example, actually." She was reluctant to stop wearing it. She had only taken it off to bathe or sleep since Dathan had given it to her. It meant that much to her. He meant that much to her. "Still, a few generations ago they were brilliant as well as mad. If the current heirs to the name are anything like their ancestors, they are too valuable to risk alienating. And the Draught of Living Death has only been successfully made by less than a handful of people in living memory." She almost told him to be careful, especially after he mentioned mortality. She turned and busied herself making tea, thinking. @dathan

Dathan was in the process of sending the owl to the restaurant when Morgaine spoke of her worry about Cora wanting to take the necklace. He would be dead before he left that crazy woman rob his dearest of her gift.
"You need not concern yourself with that, dearest Morgaine," he said, sending the owl on. "That necklace has changed ownership a few times since Victoria Veltrino's family last possessed it. Cora Veltrino would have no claim over it. The necklace was mine and I gave it to you. Besides, Cora would not be foolish enough to cause tension in the ranks at such a delicate planning period. She would know the cost of doing such a thing."
Burke understood Morgaine's concerns. Everything had to be perfect, and nothing could go wrong. Dathan stepped over behind her as she made tea, placed his hands on her arms, and kissed her on the cheek.
"All will be well, Morgaine," he said softly. "Trust in me. Trust in the Dark Lady. Victoria Veltrino was not only successful in making the Draught, but perfected it, and her recipe is very precise." Dathan then turned and made his way to the couch, making room for Morgaine. "We'll be quite busy our first few days together. Our mistress will no doubt having us make more use of our respective connections."

Morgaine smiled distantly, her mind still preoccupied. The only disadvantage to being somewhat prominent in the Black Army was the necessity of her meeting new people and having to interact with them, no matter how odious they turned out to be. She knew that the Veltrino line was distinguished, though, and she hoped that that trait would be more prominently displayed than the insanity.
"Good. Our cause is too important to be endangered by petty squabbles. But she's an old friend of yours, isn't she? I'm sure she is every bit as elegant and intelligent as you." She touched his fingers on her arm with her free hand. If Dathan was there, everything would proceed smoothly, she was sure. She had very little reputation outside certain circles - a fact she was quite proud of, given her history and temperament - but at times like these she wondered if perhaps she should have been more public about her evil tendencies. Still, it would have alienated a large portion of her law-abiding clients, and she couldn't have lived half so comfortably trading only in black market materials.
She hesitated for a moment, then smiled and turned to him, letting herself trust him. After all, too much stress was bad for anyone, and she needed to be calm and focused. "Thank goodness. I do hate sloppy potion masters. I think the majority of the ingredients will be relatively easy to find, but I'm sure there will be at least one or two things only Cora can provide. It is the mark of a truly gifted witch to trademark her recipes with ingredients only they can provide." And, of course, the business sense in it was very sound. If you have a monopoly on the market, you are invaluable and irreplaceable. She held Dathan's gaze a moment longer, then turned and set the tea set on a tray. "Any word yet on our first orders?" @dathan

Dathan smirked when Morgaine asked about Cora.
"A friend... hardly," he said. "She's an acquaintance, yes, but she and I have never come to like one another. And intelligent, yes, but elegant... no. She's a mad woman, as crazy as they come. But her skills are quite useful to the Army. Her escape and cooperation will be a turning point in our plans."
Dathan nodded when Morgaine said that there were those only Cora could provide.
"Oh indeed," he said. "In fact the essential ingredient is one only her family knows about. Any who have tried to make the Veltrino Draught in the past have failed because they could never figure out this ingredient, nor could they substitute it. Cora's knowledge is the key in making the right potion this time, and given her lust for the power only the Dark Lady can provide, she will agree to do so." Cora would also know the costs of saying no to the Dark Lady.
When Morgaine asked about their first orders, Dathan gave a small shrug.
"Continue to recruit for now," he said. "The Dark Lady needs her numbers for the attack." Burke was then curious about something. "Your sister? How did she take your leaving?" Dathan didn't care much for Isolde Deluna, but he would respect Morgaine's wishes of assuring she was safe if his dearest asked.

So, Cora was essential, but volatile... Morgaine decided she would have to wait and see for herself exactly what type of woman she was. 'Intelligent but insane' described the vast majority of her family, and she knew how dangerous it could be to slip up with people like that.
"At least she will be on our side," she replied. "And if the Dark Lady needs this potion, then we must ensure that Cora is able to produce it. Perhaps, when she is free, I can help her set her garden to rights. A lengthy incarceration is never good for the housekeeping."
At the mention of Isolde, her face clouded a little, the sadness almost creeping in. "I had intended to tell her differently, but she arrived as I was packing. It is so difficult, balancing these two lives we have at the moment. I will be glad when everything is won, and I can just have the one face. I think Isolde will be fine," she replied. "But I will miss her terribly. She is the only good thing to come out of my parents' house, and, had things happened differently, I would have taken her with me and looked after her for longer. But, I let her live in my house, instead of going back to our parents' house outside of school," she added. "As you know, I shall need to maintain my herbs and business affairs, but at times I will be very preoccupied. Isolde can take care of the garden when I can't. I think she'll enjoy it. When my other sister returns, I shall see if she's ready to join the business." If she returns, Morgaine reminded herself, but she didn't dwell on it. It was unlikely that she and Nimue would get along better now than they had before, if she was even still alive. It troubled her, and she was tempted to ask Dathan to investigate. Her own sources were sketchy in this matter, and she knew her emotions were clouding her ability to think rationally.

Dathan smiled at Morgaine and took her hand at her offer for help.
"Any assistance you can provide is always welcomed, my dearest," he said. "Though I am not so sure Cora will be as excepting of that assistance. I suppose we'll see to that when the time comes."
Burke could not condemn Morgaine for her feelings for her sister. Burke loved very few, but he did love Morgaine. So he could understand in spite of how cold her heart could be towards people that she would hold some such as Isolde close. Burke had met the girl once of twice and had no real issue with her. The girl was quiet and kept to herself. She wasn't a loud annoyance like most teenagers.
"I'm sure she will be alright," assured Dathan. "Isolde seems a bright young lady, and she had a wise woman mentor her."
Then there was Morgaine's other sister, Nimue. Burke was interested in meeting her. Morgaine seemed to not have as much fondness for her as she did Isolde. Dathan was curious as to why.
"Well then, my dearest," said Burke. "Let us hope that she does return soon. And your parents? How aware of they of all this?"

Morgaine smiled at the compliment. No one could possibly understand the full complexity of her feelings for her little sister, but if ever anyone did, she felt it would be Dathan. And in regards to Nimue, well... She hoped that if her sister did return, it would be soon, and things would be different between them.
At the mention of her parents, though, she scoffed. "So far up themselves they've forgotten the sun, as always. I still find it hard to believe that Lord Voldemort had any use for them save as stooges. No, I suspect that, now that Isolde is out of harm's way, there might be a little fire that somehow spreads to the rest of the house, soon. They're getting old, after all, and they can't be expected to remember to snuff the candles every night." Her eyes turned cool and lifeless, their natural expression. "The only question is, will they sleep through the fire, or wake up trapped and screaming..?" She grinned, the mask slowly slipping back up. Despite her love for Dathan, she was still nervous about showing him her true face for very long. It was generally reserved for those about to die by her hand, but she often truly hoped Dathan would live forever.

(Wrapping this one up)
Dathan smiled wickedly when Morgaine spoke of an accidental "fire" that might very well snuff out the lives of her parents. he loved Morgaine's more civil side, but he also loved her wicked side too. Both struck him in different but wonderful ways. Though he still considered Morgaine to be a platonic soul mate, he couldn't help but gently take her into his arms and look deep into her eyes.
"You are the most magnificent being I have met and will ever meet," he said. "Your every word is forbidden honey, and your every thought is a work of brilliance. You are a demon, Morgaine, and I have fallen to your temptation. I love you, my dearest. You are no mere lover to me or a symbolic sister. You are everything to me." He leaned in as if he was going to kiss her on the lips, but at the last second he kissed her on the cheek. He then drew back and released his embrace, but then took her hands again.
"If you need anything from me to aid in this... accident, do not hesitate to ask," he said coldly. "Your parents have gotten away with the sins they have committed against you and your sisters for far too long... and it's time to collect payment."
