HISTORY:
Born on the outskirts of a small village in Devon, Daniel grew up always having food on the table but never too much money to spare. Being the second of seven children, his parents worked hard to support them all, and often Daniel found himself helping out. He didn't mind, though, and through chores and babysitting (very uncool, some of his friends thought, but whatever), he discovered his passion for caring. After being sorted into Ravenclaw, he became something of an observer, always watching his fellow students to see how and where friction arose. He decided early on that the majority of the conflicts could be resolved without nastiness or violence, and studied his way towards that goal. He mentored many of the younger students, regardless of House, from his third year, and still keeps in contact with many of them, including Ignatius Rivers and Relina Regal.
When he was in his last year at Hogwarts, his parents split up, after much deliberation. Instead of taking it badly, once Daniel finished his exams, he came home to comfort and support both of them. He has remained friendly with both, a feat he takes some pride in, though the split was not particularly messy or bitter. Despite having his own place, he still makes time for his family on a regular basis.
On the surface, he seems perfect, but hidden below is a turbulent storm of questions on everything, from the nature of the universe to why he made that bad joke last week, and his over-analysis of everything makes it difficult for him to stave off paranoia and get truly close to people. For now, he seems to be holding it together, and a part of him hopes that, one day, his hyper-vigilance will pay off. In the mean time, he is considering a course of anti-anxiety treatments suggested by his father, and a magical alternative suggested by his mother.
