Regrets collect like old friends, here to relive your darkest moments
Being raised in a pureblooded family, where your Grandfather died a death eater, would certainly cause suspicions about someone's personality. Cassandra Juliette Rosier, granddaughter to the late Evan Rosier, was raised by her parents to be the perfect pureblooded girl. She was taught to be graceful and elegant as well as keep her manners and hold her tongue. Cassie was very good at these things and didn't mind the lessons she received in etiquette or dancing. It was all interesting to her. She even took up piano at a young age, but that was something that she loved on her own, and not something required.
Before Hogwarts, Cassie had the mindset that if you were not a pureblood, you were not worthy. This was something drilled into her mind from a very young age and when she had first entered Hogwarts, she stuck to that belief. In fact, it surprised her greatly when she was sorted into Hufflepuff. That was not to be expected, but at least it wasn't Gryffindor. However, Hufflepuff did suite her personality at the time, as well as what it would become later.
Cassandra was a very loyal young girl and anyone she befriended knew that. She was passionate about what she loved and she was a good friend to those that gained her trust and respect. Don't be deceived by her innocent smile though. The girl did grow up in a home born from death eaters. Her temper is quite short and at times can be very nasty. She is no where near a pacifist in which she will pull a wand on someone in a heartbeat if threatened or tempted enough. And in the beginning of Hogwarts, she did it more frequently because she found it easy to target the weak and let her temper fly.
I am done with my graceless heart, so tonight I'm gonna cut it out and then restart
One boy. It only took one boy to change the girl that was learning to be a dark soul. If it wasn't for him, she'd probably be too far gone to even realize the nature she had been approved to take on by her family. His name was Miles Eckstein and he was a Muggleborn. At first, Cassandra wouldn't go near the boy. They were the same house and year, but she knew of his blood status and that was enough to turn her off from even the thought of being friends. But something changed. Something he did made her open her eyes to the fact that, these people were in fact not bad. They were good.
Conflicted deeply, Cassie went through a period of time questioning herself and who she truly was. Everything was wrong. Everything she learned from her parents. Everything she was taught growing up. It was all so wrong. And yet, why did it feel right to befriend him? That's right. Cassandra Rosier, pureblooded girl who was supposed to cut such people down, was allowing herself to let one in. And it didn't take long for him to gain a special spot in her heart. He truly became her best friend and she doesn't regret it one bit.
Because of him she was able to branch away from the things that seemed so odd to her, though her opinions were kept to herself and pushed to the back of her mind. For so long, she let herself be a cardboard copy of what her parents wanted her to be. But no more. They wanted graceful, well what they taught her was nothing of the kind. Who Cassie became at the end of her first year was the graceful girl she should have been years ago. She just wished she could have found out sooner, rather than later, seeing as she had hurt so many people in such a short amount of time.

And every demon wants his pound of flesh But I like to keep some things to myself
As the years progressed and Cassandra started to grow older, her personality started to shift into the Hufflepuff she was meant to be. They say the sorting hat is never wrong and in her case, it wasn't. It just happened to take a boy that was completely opposite of herself at the time, to help her figure it out. Blossoming into a young woman, with more mature outlooks, Cassie became quite the sweetheart. She loved to do things with her friends and be out and about. If she saw someone being bullied or hurt, she would help them in any way possible. Cassie had learned that the only thing she wanted to be, was like those people she grew up hating. It was ironic really, seeing as she wasn't supposed to approve of them at all. Sure, some weren't very kind, but that was their personality, not their blood. But most of them, like Miles, were great people who deserved the chance to prove that.
Growing from the serious first year, to the fun-loving fifth year, Cassandra loved adventure and anything that was fun. She made Miles teach her things on the guitar. She sang along to songs she would have never known if it weren't for the people she learned to accept into her life. She danced like a crazy person when no one was watching. Well, sometimes people were, but it was all in good fun. It didn't embarrass her.
All of it was fine and dandy except for one thing. Who she truly was, was a secret. Not from her housemates and not from her true friends. But from those she had grown up with, including kids she was forced to know and her family. It was like living two separate lives. Her brothers didn't even know about Miles and he was her best friend. Even being close to them, she feared what they would say or do if she told them. In no way, shape, or form was she going to put her friends in any danger. So when she was them, she was Cassandra Rosier, pureblooded girl who hated other bloods. She pretended to be that same girl she used to be. She had to. If her brothers knew, her parents would find out and that would be worse. But as soon as she was clear of them, her whole facade crumbled back to the lovely girl people had come to love. Good people.
And I'm ready to suffer and I'm ready to
hope. It's a shot in the dark aimed right at my throat
Cassandra is now in her fifth year at Hogwarts and she is doing lovely if she must say so herself. She has found a passion for music she never unlocked as a child. Sure, she learned how to play piano and loved it, but she never saw it as anything more than just entertaining the guests. She still plays now though, as well as she has found a voice in singing. And then we can't forget her guitar lessons. She kept practicing after that and now she plays it on her own. She absolutely craves music and knows that she'll probably find some way to have it as a career when she leaves Hogwarts, much to her parents dismay. But maybe one day she'll find the courage to stand up to them and show them that she isn't who they want to be. She will never be that way and they should stop expecting such things. She is her own person and she will make her own path. Her first year, when she met Miles... that was only the beginning.hope. It's a shot in the dark aimed right at my throat
