PERSONALITY:
Self-confident - Madeleine is comfortable with who she is, and is happy to be herself around pretty much anyone. This comes across in her ability to play music and sing in front of people - she loves to perform, which is mirrored in her personality when she interacts with people.
Empathetic - She is good at seeing into other people's situations and understanding how they might feel, and trying to respond in a way that is helpful to them.
Unbiased - She doesn't buy into the whole house divide thing, or even the blood divide. She is happy to chat to anyone who is willing to chat to her, and sees any conversation as a potential friendship.
Passionate - Maddie will stand up for what she believes in, to the point where it might end up in a conflict. She doesn't mind that, and enjoys getting into debates with people about things she cares about. She tries not to let debates turn into arguments and get personal, though.
Gifted musician - Okay this isn't really personality, but she is very musically talented, and has perfect pitch, meaning she can identify a note without having to check it on an instrument. She has an amazing singing voice and seeks to perform at any opportunity she gets, in front of people wherever possible. She hopes to be noticed by a record company or an agent at some stage, but for now seeks out any performance she can find in order to get noticed so that she can follow music as her career.

HISTORY:
Madeleine Rousseau was born the fourth child in her family. She was the baby of the family and was well looked after. They are related to the Tchaikovsky family but none of the Rousseau children are in line to be heir to the family, due to Veronica being a girl. This partly eased the stress on the four children growing up, as they weren't being groomed for a particular position as much as some of their cousins were.
So, Maddie had a very pleasant childhood. She mostly got on well with her family, and they were quite well off so she was quite spoiled. She was started on piano lessons at the age of four, and quickly showed an aptitude for it, becoming a very accomplished player quite quickly, and also showing a talent for singing. She was often walking around the house singing to herself, or to the rest of her family if they would put up with her. She loved to perform from an early age.
When she received her letter to Hogwarts, she was very excited and couldn't wait to go. She was sorted into Gryffindor (which I think is different to her brothers/sister? Remains to be seen). She quickly settled in there and her bubbly and extroverted personality meant that she was quite well known amongst the students.
Once she got to about 14 and had visited Hogsmeade, she sought an opportunity at the Three Broomsticks to play live music there, and after showing the owner one of her songs, they agreed to let her play music there on weekends. They even pay her a small amount, but she would probably do it even if she wasn't paid, just for the opportunities to be noticed and the chance to play in front of people.
