Romanian Vacation (Prof. Bennett)

The original plan was for Esmeralda Mynk to go to her home in Romania with her brother Diamante. Unfortunately, Diamante became ill. Her other siblings had other business and could not go in his place. With the arrangements already made, Mynk wanted someone to travel with her, and not just anyone. It had to be someone special. Mynk then recalled telling her colleague Annabeth Bennett that some day she would take her to Mynk's homeland. So, if Bennett was able, why not now?

Once she found Annabeth was able to, Mynk happily made additional preparations and soon the day came for the two to travel to the country. Their destination was Bucharest, Romania's capital. Romania had spent the first years of her life in a lovely townhouse that still belong to the family. They visited there from time and time and had paid people from the city to keep it in good shape for those visits. When Mera (Esmeralda's name for short) stepped in and placed down her luggage, she smiled as she looked around. The place had not changed one bit. She turned to see if Annabeth was alright with her bags.

"Welcome to my home, Annabeth," she said. "I'll show you to your room and then perhaps we can sit down and have some of the tea I purchased."

Annabeth couldn't believe she was traveling to Romania. After the Italy trip, she didn't think it would be that soon before she traveled out of London again, but plans fell through for her friend Esmeralda Mynk and she decided to invite her. Annabeth was very grateful for the invitation as well as excited for the trip. She had never been, so it would be an interesting journey. Plus, she had never really spent time with Mera outside of Hogwarts, so that would probably be interesting as well. But she honestly couldn't wait!

Once they had made it inside, Anna set her bags down and smiled in wonder as she looked around. It was so beautiful. Hearing Mera's words, she smiled at her friend and nodded. "Thank you again for inviting me Esmeralda. I'm very excited for this trip. And your home.. it's so beautiful!" She told her friend sincerely. "Tea sounds great! And so does seeing my room. You lead, and I'll follow." She chuckled lightly, picking up her bags again as she waited for Mera to show her to the room she would be staying in.

Mera was very pleased that Annabeth liked the house. She hoped her friend would enjoy the house as much as she had.

"Thank you, Annabeth," she said. "I'll give you a proper tour after tea." She then headed toward the upstairs bedrooms. The rooms were all beautifully decorated. Mynk's mother was a huge admirer of Romanian Art. Mera smiled as she motioned Annabeth to the guest room.

"I hope you like it," she said. "There's a large closet and you'll have your own bathroom.. The bed is very comfortable. I used to fall asleep the second I lied down, even when I thought I wasn't all that tired." Mynk laughed a bit at this. "Anyway, just settle in and I'll go down and prepare the tea and some sandwiches."

A short time later, Mynk had the tea and sandwiches ready. She would make Annabeth a proper dinner later, but this would be a nice treat before they went out to explore the area. She wanted today to be a bit tame for the two since they just got in, but she had a big surprise for Annabeth for the next day. The two would visit and tour the castle of a legendary figure known throughout the world.
