Isolde knew she wouldn't be around the other Ravenclaws as much, but as long as she saw Ollie during the school day and when he visited, she didn't mind. It was her Seventh Year, and in her first six years, she hadn't really met any friends except for Ollie, and Genie, the nice girl from the clothes shop. Genie could always come by too.
"I don't mind," she said. "The Common Room gets crowded sometimes and it makes me nervous. Here I have lots of space, and you can stay over sometimes. We have an extra room you can use." Isolde wasn't really thinking of the whole awkwardness of a boy and girl staying together over night. She didn't think that way with Ollie. He was a friend and his gender was not an issue to her.
Isolde smiled when Ollie asked her to let him know when Morgaine came back.
"I will if I know in time to send you an owl," she said. "Some times Morgaine just shows up though." Which was of course fine. It was Morgaine's house after all.
Isolde peeked out from behind Ollie when he stood in front of her and up for her. She watched as the old man swore under his breath at Ollie and walked inside his house.
"Thank you," said Isolde to Ollie. "He's very mean to people here, especially Morgaine."

Ollie nodded, understanding where she was coming from. "Yeah, I guess that makes sense, it can be pretty intense sometimes. I can see the appeal to having your own space," he acknowledged. "It'd be cool to come down here sometimes." He only would do that since there was an extra room, though - the extra room meant it wouldn't be as awkward. Not that he really thought anything would happen, but he didn't want people getting the wrong idea or anything like that.
After the old man went back inside his house, Ollie breathed a sigh of relief. He hated confrontation, but would always stand up for the people close to him. "It's fine. He had no right to say those things, especially to you. If he had an issue with Morgaine, he should talk to her about it rather than insulting you." It was very unfair on Isolde, as far as he was concerned. "Let's go get those burgers," he suggested, thinking that food would improve the mood around them now.

Isolde was happy to know Ollie could stay over night with her some times. It was a bit lonely at night even if Isolde wasn't crazy about being around a lot of people. She and Ollie could sit out in the garden and look at the stars and talk until they were ready to go to sleep. Isolde grew more and more pleased at this idea.
"I can't wait," she said.
Isolde was glad to see the old man had left, though she knew he'd be back out. He was always outside smoking and giving people dirty looks. Once he was even asked by authorities not to bother or try to scare passing students during the school year, but he rarely listened.
Isolde did laugh when Ollie said the old man should settle his business with Morgaine.
"My sister would turn him into a toad," she said. "I think he's scared to say anything to her."
The rest of the walk to the burger stand was a pleasant one. Isolde talked a bit more to Ollie about this and that. She had truly opened up to him now and it brought out a side of her she kept hidden for so long.
"Ollie," she asked before they arrived. "What do you dream to be one day? I mean really dream to be?"

Ollie was determined to be pretty careful around Isolde in some ways. He didn't want to encourage her to become interested in him in a romantic way, as that could really hurt her if things didn't work out. So he was determined to be careful that he didn't give her the wrong idea in any way along those lines. He really valued her as a friend and wanted them to be able to stay close in that way.
He laughed when Isolde said that Morgaine would turn him into a toad. "Well, maybe that would be a good thing," he replied with a chuckle. Morgaine seemed like she must be a pretty no-nonsense person, though.
When she asked him what his dream was... Or rather, what his dream was to be, he thought for a moment. "You know, I don't really care what kind of work I end up doing. I think people put too much meaning in the job they end up in. What's most important to me is being able to start a family and be a good husband and father, you know? I think family is the most important thing, way more than what job I end up in." He glanced over at her. "What about you?"

Isolde laughed a bit more at the joke about her sister making the old man a toad. For some reason, the image stuck in her head and she couldn't stop being amused by it.
"He would be nice then and we could keep him as a pet," she joked. Yes, Isolde joked.
When Ollie said he just wanted to start a family, Isolde smiled. She gave no thought to being his wife or anything like that. Again, Ollie was a brother-figure to her. She loved him like she did Morgaine and Nimue. She didn't know if she would ever understand any other type of love but that.
"That's a nice dream," she said. "You would make a good father. You would be nice to your children."
Isolde agreed about the job thing too, and she also had no job in mind when he asked her what her dream was.
"I want to be here with my two sisters," she said. "I just want to read, work in the garden, and just be with them. I wouldn't ever have to go back to London again. And you can visit with your family sometimes and I can make a cake for your children. I could be... Aunt Isolde." She smiled at Ollie at that.
She then approached the stand and was asked what her order was.
"What he's having," she said, pointing to Ollie.

Ollie laughed, pleased that Isolde was feeling relaxed enough again to make a joke. "Yep, then he wouldn't be able to say anything else mean. It'd be great," he grinned.
He was glad that she thought his dream was a nice one. It wasn't ambitious at all, but he liked it. "Thanks, it means a lot that you would say that." He wondered if she was interested at all in having a family of her own - she didn't seem to imply that at all when she talked about what she wanted. He decided to ask her. "Would you ever want a family of your own?" he asked curiously. When she said she could be Aunt Isolde, he chuckled a little. "I'd like that. And I'm sure they would too."
They made it to the burger place, and Ollie ordered a bacon cheeseburger with a side of fries. When she ordered the same, he laughed a little. "Are you sure? They have a lot of different options..." Of course, he liked his option the best, but that didn't mean she would. He hoped she would like it enough.

Isolde laughed at Ollie's reply to her joke. She had never laughed so hard in her life, and it wasn't very hard. She found Ollie to be very funny and witty.
The laughter stopped when Ollie asked if Isolde wanted a family of her own. In fact, she got very quiet for a moment. The concept of romantic love or marriage had escaped her, and that meant the very concept of her ever having children was foreign. She didn't know what to say to this, so risking being rude to her friend, she said nothing. She did like that he thought his future children would enjoy her being Aunt Isolde though.
"I'll make a cake for them and we'll play in the garden together," she said. "And on rainy days, we'll sit inside by a fire and I'll read them stories. I still have a lot of books from my childhood that they would enjoy." Just because Isolde couldn't dream of having her own children didn't mean she disliked them.
Isolde just smiled and shook her head when Ollie asked if she wanted to consider the options.
"No, what you are having sounds good," she said. "I like bacon and cheese on my hamburger too." She would also have whatever he wanted to drink as well.

Ollie saw how she froze up when he asked her about her own family. She just didn't respond at all. He didn't know whether that meant she didn't want that, but clearly there was something that she found awkward about it, because she just didn't say a thing. He would have at least expected her to say no, or something like that. In the end he just let it slide, but he made a mental note of it.
"That sounds amazing," he said with a smile. "I'm sure they'd love that. They will love spending time around you," he said confidently.
When she also agreed to have what he had to drink, they finished their order and took a seat while the meals were prepared. "Have you come to this place before?" he asked her curiously.

Isolde smiled when Ollie said her spending time with his kids would be amazing. She then had another notice.
"And I know I'll like your wife too because she'll be as nice as you are," she said. "We'll have tea in the garden and talk about how much we love you." Isolde meant loving him as a friend of course. That's the love she knew now along with family love. Ollie was to thank for her knowing the love of friendship. He was her first REAL friend.
After they got their food, Isolde sat with Ollie. She liked sitting outside instead of in like at the Three Broomsticks. Even if the place had a lot of customers, they were out in the open air and it didn't feel crowded. Isolde was getting more used to being outside as well. At one time she didn't like it all that much, but working in the garden was enjoyable and made her appreciate it more.
"Sometimes I come here, but I mostly just buy food at the Neep and prepare it at the house," she said. "Some time I'll cook for you. What's your favorite meal?" She looked at him with great curiosity.

Ollie did find it a little strange to be talking about this stuff with another girl - as usually there would be a level of awkwardness there. But that wasn't really there with Isolde, mostly because she seemed to have no interest in him in that way, and didn't seem to see herself with a family of her own at all. "Well, there's no way it should be all about me. Besides I'm just lucky to have a friend like you, anyway." He didn't tend to see the good in himself as he always strove to be better.
He also preferred sitting outside, so it worked for both of them. "Oh, that's cool. I think I would have guessed that you'd be a good cook. Hmm, my favourite meal... probably roast lamb with roast vegetables and mashed potato," he decided after a moment. "But I like nearly everything, so you can cook whatever you like and I'll appreciate it," he assured her.

Isolde hugged Ollie when he said he was so lucky to have a friend like her. She wanted to kiss him on the cheek like she did her sisters, but she felt he might find that awkward since he was a boy. The hug was good enough.
Isolde beamed when Ollie told her what he liked to eat.
"I like lamb too," she said. "It's not my favorite, but I really like it. I mainly like chicken and turkey. But I like vegetables with them too. I can make you lamb when you come to visit next. They have some nice lamb meat at the Neep. They have a very good butcher there."
Isolde then took a bite of her burger and was glad she ordered what Ollie did. It was really good. She should come back there more often and try other things if they were as good as the burger. She smiled at Ollie to show it was good, the laughed a little. The boy had almost pulled a one eighty in Isolde from how she was. Sure she would probably still be how she was around others, but not around Ollie. She could be so much more around him.

When she said she could cook that for him, his face lit up. It sounded great. "That sounds awesome! Thanks so much. Just let me know a day that works and I'll happily come over. I can bring some stuff, too, if you like," he suggested.
The burgers were really very good. This was why he often came back to here whenever he was in Hogsmeade and was hungry. Why try other places when one place is already this good? "These burgers never get old. They're so good," he commented, savouring the taste.

Isolde was so excited for the cooking plan. She knew Ollie would love her cooking. Her servants back home were some of the best cooks in the world and they had taught her how to cook a lot.
"Okay, that would be nice," she said when he offered to bring some things too. "We'll have a big meal like at a party." She then laughed. "I hope we can eat it all."
When Ollie talked about how good the burgers were, Isolde nodded in agreement as she had her mouth full. She sipped her drink to help swallow it.
"This was a wonderful idea, Ollie," she said finally.
Soon it was getting late in the day, and Isolde knew she and Ollie would have to part. She could ask him to stay over, but he hadn't brought overnight clothes with him. But she knew next time they could cook and he could stay in the extra bedroom.
But before he left, she had one last request and hoped he wouldn't think she was weird for asking.
"Ollie... I've never... danced with someone before," she said. "We have music here. Would it be okay if we danced before you left?" She tried not to give him a pressuring look because if he didn't want to, she wasn't going to make him.

Ollie was also excited for it. "Yeah, well even if we don't eat it all on the night, we can have it the next day or something - leftovers are great," he replied. Especially when it was delicious food like it seemed it was going to be.
They eventually got back to her place, and he was just getting ready to leave when she suggested that they dance before he left. He looked a little awkward, and glanced over at her. "Well, I'm a pretty bad dancer... but sure, if you want to," he replied. He thought he was pretty terrible, though. "I probably wouldn't be the best first dance partner ever, to be honest," he explained to her. "But I'm happy to give it a go..."

Isolde didn't even think about leftovers. She laughed at this.
"We'll have it for breakfast too," she said. "Ollie, you're brilliant."
Back at the house, Isolde just smiled when Ollie said he wasn't that good a dancer.
"Well I've never danced with someone, so we'll learn together," she said. She then aimed her wand at the record player and cast a spell. The record began playing a lovely song. She placed a hand on Ollie's shoulder and took one of his hands with the other one. She had always watched others do it that way. She then waited for him to lead. She guessed it was always the boy who led when a boy and girl danced.
As much as she didn't want to say good-bye, this was a perfect way to end the visit. She was dancing for the first time with her best friend. She looked up at him and smiled once more.
"Thank you again for coming today, Ollie," she said. "This is the nicest day I've spent here since I moved in." She said nothing more after that. She just enjoyed the music and the remainder of Ollie's company.
(Isolde is done here if you want to wrap it up)
