HISTORY:
Ryker was born on the cold December 2nd to a couple by the name of Catherine and Jonathan Atherton, with Ryker being born this would be their second son. Spencer was at home with their Grandmother that loved her grandchildren dearly, she would do anything for them. She was an old and her bones were rare and old but they could still handle the children. Catherine worked as the Hospital Director for St. Mungos and Jonathan an Auror.
Since the both of them had such important jobs in the wizarding world it wasn't rare that the two brothers stayed home by themselves. Spencer severely hated Ryker because of how much everyone saw him under the spotlight, he began to grow jealous but the more the two stayed with each other the more Samuel started to like Ryker. The two were four years apart so of course they couldn't stay by themselves so they stayed under the guardianship until their parents came home.
It was unknown to their Grandmother or the brothers that their parents had been caught in a war at the time during the Second Wizarding War. Beneath the war was a battle and that was one between the O'Reilly's and the Dolans. They hated each other and only their Parents knew why. Before things started to go downhill for the families the Athertons and O'Rielly's had been friends for many years and when the time of battle came the Athertons offered their aid to the O'Rielly's. The Athertons were invited for tea that unfortunate night where all hell would break loose.
Spencer was in the bathroom insisting that he didn't need his mothers help so Catherine left the bathroom "If you need anything sweetheart just call for me." She said in her calm voice. She sat down with her legs crossed holding her husbands hand while laughing and drinking tea. She watched her child play by himself waiting for his older brother to show up but something happened. A fire broke out at the home catching the house on fire and the families knew it was the work of the Dolans. Catherine and Jonathan rushed outside to fight the Dolan clan while the fire grew bigger. Ryker and Spencers Grandmother picked Ryker up "Come baby." she said rushing towards the restroom to grab Samuel but before she could reach the door flames erupted between the fragile woman and scared grandchild.
Ryker began to cry for he was such a young child and the flames began to pulsate heat. Spencer banged the door screaming for help but there was nothing their Grandmother could do; the flames were too powerful for her to put out with her wand. She wiped away a small tear and looked at Ryker "You will know why I did this...someday." she stated apparating away from the home back to the manor of the Atherton's.
He didn't know what happened, he just knew that he lost someone he loved because the morning her woke up his parent's didn't come for him. His brother didn't come see him in the morning either since they would talk when Ryker woke up. Ryker's grandmother came in and picked up the newspaper. It was a story about what happened the night before, it showed the people that participated in the fight and their deaths. His parents had been killed by the Avada Kedavra curse showing a small mage at the bottom with the Minister of Magic speaking.
"Ladies and Gentlemen of the Wizarding Community, these deaths will be held dearly to our hearts and we will find the cause of this." And that was all. No sorry to the families that were lost, nothing of that sort.
Years later after the death of his parents and brother, Ryker attended Hogwarts and was sorted into Slytherin. At the same time he was placed into his Grandmothers guardianship and for all those years he still kept the secret from him. During the days that Ryker felt alone or sad he would play on his guitar or sing. Many people were fascinated with his voice and wanted more of it and by the time Ryker graduated from Hogwarts he was a rockstar! He planned albums and already had two out that people couldn't stop listening to which is why more were on the way.
He would occasionally visit his Grandmother but during his recent visit he didn't know the pain he was going to feel. Ryker walked in and placed his leather jacket on the coat rack and his guitar by the door. He looked in the living room finding a note and his grandmother looking out the window.
"Please forgive me my dear child, I loved you so much to let you die. The night of your parents death I left your brother in the bathroom to die. It was wrong but I had to at least save someone that was too close to me to let go." The note was placed on the table and he read it quietly to himself. The letter was painful to read because this whole time he was told that his younger brother died at birth but it was his older brother that died in a fire...due to hid grandmothers weakness.
"Why?! Why did you lie to me!" He yelled in anger throwing the vase on the table next to him across the room "How dare you think you could just leave him to die!" Then he took his wand out from his pocket and pointed it towards the old woman's skull "Tell me why I shouldn't kill you now?" Ryker asked to shocked to even show sadness. She just sat there not showing any emotion at all. Ryker grinned "I'll enjoy doing this and you know why? It's because I'll be giving you the pain you deserve...But I won't." He said putting his wand away while rushing out of the house.
Very few months he had decided to cut contact from his grandmother and practice the interesting skill of an Animagus. Once he had finished he had taken the form of a Bloodhound, a dog with an excellent sense of smell. He wrote to the Ministry of Magic telling them of his registration and he would be there soon to register. It was a fast process and he had finally become one with the blessing of the Ministry.
When he arrived home he walked inside and kicked off his shoes preparing for bed when there was a knock at the door. It was the middle of the night and he had no idea why someone would be up so late so he walked downstairs and looked out the peephole seeing a woman in a black cloak with blonde hair. He opened the door and she began to tell him about her ideas and how their parents were friends. She told him of how she wanted to change the wizarding world and he began to nod his head in approval. Ryker laughed "Yes, I would be happy to join this... campaign."
