HISTORY: Theodore Piero Nott was born on February 2nd, 1980. He was born heir to the Nott family. He was never spoiled and worked hard from a young age. He was taught how to sit right, speak correctly, and read accurately the moment he could sit upright by himself. He was the kind of boy adults wished they had for their own. He never fought with adults, and listened to whatever was told to him. Life around the Grange was relatively quiet. Every once in a while, his father would throw a party. Friends of the elder Nott would hit on his mother. It was a month after his tenth birthday when his father decided to have such a party. His father was off somewhere upstairs discussing something with some other man when a rather pigheaded ‘gentlemen’ decided it was alright to hit on his mother, smack her bum, and suggest they go somewhere else. Of course, his mother wouldn’t hear of it and she managed to hit him with a hex that threw him across the room, getting the attention of everyone in that room as well as his father and the man he was with. Needless to say, the party was over and his mother was severely punished, sending her into a depression alcohol didn’t seem to be able to help. Less than six months later, while holding his hand, his mother fell to severe alcohol poisoning.
When his eleventh birthday came, he celebrated it by traveling to Diagon Alley and gathering the things he would need for his year at Hogwarts. Once at Hogwarts, he met and became friends with boys he had often seen around the pureblood gatherings, Draco Maloy and Blaise Zabini. He stayed away from the spotlight, never drawing much attention to himself. He spent his first two years of Hogwarts throwing himself into his studies with such vigor that his friends wondered why he hadn't been placed in Ravenclaw. His third year came and went, and, with it, the chance of ‘making friends’ with a second year girl. His fourth year, too, was basically as uneventful as the first three years had been .That was, of course, until the Triwizard Tournament was announced. Theo wasn’t a fool enough to try to enter the tournament, nor even to want to, but it was fun to watch as his fellow Slytherin dorm mate ranted about how unfair it was that Potter had gotten in even though he didn’t. Theo merely watched the tournaments to see how well the fellow schools faired. As opposed to the majority of the school who didn't believe Voldemort had returned, Theodore was very much aware. His father had been apart of the Death Eaters from the moment he had graduated from Hogwarts. It was at that point that Theodore Nott the III began pressuring his son to follow in his footsteps.
His fifth year brought a severely disappointing letter. He hadn’t been asked to be a prefect, and, also to his surprise, neither had Zabini. Although, he had to admit, that it was kind of expected for him that Malfoy get the letter, as he was the Head’s favorite Slytherin. The summer before his sixth year, his father had, yet again, returned to the services of the Dark Lord. For his own part, Theodore tried to resist following the same path. He was determined to remain neutral in the war until it was obvious which side of the war would win.
Though he recognized that he wouldn't be considered a hero, Theo lived through the war relatively unscathed. During the Battle of Hogwarts, he was among the group of Slytherin that was to be escorted to the dungeons. He escaped from the group and hunted down his father. He reused to allow anyone else best him when the honor belonged to him and him alone. The two dueled for what seemed like an eternity, but was really only about ten minutes maximum. His father had hit him with a spell that had almost killed him. His left arm was almost completely immobile, bleeding profusely from the cut the elder Nott had inflicted. Turning the spell against him, Theodore struck him with with a dark curse. His father slammed into the ground and slid down. He kept his wand at ready, pointed directly at his father, but the man never roused. He didn't bother to stay longer after that. He cleaned himself up as best he could and shied away from the public eye until the Battle was over. There were many who distrusted him because of his father. However, once he had proven himself innocent, he was one of the ones who had graduated from Hogwarts on schedule. The secret of what happened to his father was his alone until after he was married to Daphne.
In his school days, Theo wasn't much for dating. He would admit that he had a thing for Tracey Davis, but never pursued her. It wasn't until he was a seventh year that he openly began courting Daphne Greengrass. They had always been friends, or as close to friends as he could have as an introvert. They had many of the same classes, but he had never seen her as anything more than a companion. With the threat of everything going on around them, he appreciated how she moved to care for her sister first and everything else second. (He also appreciated the fact that she kept a level head, as opposed to Parkinson.) A year after the Battle of Hogwarts, he proposed marriage. The couple was married in the year 2001. Undoubtedly well off, he made sure it was the wedding she wanted.
Before that, and definitely after, Theodore sought to make something of himself. He refused to let the Nott name be as damaged as it was when he inherited it. With his good grades, he quickly found a job in the Ministry. A boy of 18, he did small tasks around the International Magical Office of Law. (Basically, although he would deny it if anyone asked, he was an errand boy/secretary for six years.) On his twenty-fifth birthday, he made the decision to jump from the International Magic Office of Law to the International Confederation of Wizards, where his multilingual skills were needed. He sat in the British Seats and helped bring countries into the confederation, as well as orchestrate a law that allowed for all Death Eaters to be tracked down and given a trial. As his age progressed, more and more evidence of his father's misdeeds became obvious. In an effort to restore his name back to the respectable status it always was, he started several charitable organizations. One of them included an orphanage for Magical Children that was a safe place for them to learn who they were and what they could do before heading of to Hogwarts. He worked from the position loyally and confidentially until his fortieth birthday, in where the previous Supreme Mugwump officially retired from his position and named Theodore his successor.
While working on his career, he did manage to create a wonderful life for Daphne. They moved into his old family home; the Grange. They lived happily together, each pursuing their own career. It wasn't until a couple of years into their marriage that Daphne gave him the good news. She was pregnant. Ever frightful of turning out like his father, Theodore was very much attentive. He attended every appointment in the hospital; made sure to hire two more house elves to make sure she wanted nothing. It was 7 months later that the couple had their first child. A boy. If he were to be perfectly honest with himself, they could have stopped having children there and he would have been content. As it was, he was more than just a little amused to see that, yet again, there would be a Malfoy and a Nott in the same year at Hogwarts. A year later, they welcomed a baby girl into the family. Regardless of the solemn vow to make sure they were nothing like their parents, even he could not resist molding them into respectable members of society. (As in, he made them learn many of the things he was forced to when he was young.)
