Amelie ____ De La Fontaine, 5th year, ravenclaw, femaleHISTORY: Her father was traveling through the French country side when he met her mother. He was a foreign diplomat like his father before him, working for the Ministry of Magic in the Foreign affairs department. Celeste’s great grandfather had been from France when he met a British witch in his travels. The same thing happened vice versa for Roy. He fell for the charms of a half-veela dress maker in Paris. The two married and Roy went back and forth between Brittain and France for work and for He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named. After the Voldemort was defeated, Roy fled back to France. It took him a while to settle into the normal life but he and Lucile eventually produced two beautiful baby girls.
Celeste’s childhood was pretty ordinary as far as magical childhood’s go. Her parents were loving and caring, always supportive of the girl and her sister. Her mother made her pretty dresses to wear and she always felt like a princess. They didn’t grow up in a strictly magical town, but instead in a fairly secluded area near Beynac-et-Cazenac. Celeste was a happy child, but very lonely. It was always just her and her sister. Her father looked down at those around them. Many of them half-bloods. Even though they may have been considered a tainted bloodline because of her mother being half-veela, Roy still considered them to be purebloods and better than those around them. He filled her head with lies that muggle borns were evil and half-bloods just as bad. The little girl had her doubts, but swore that she’d never play with them. She would stay loyal to her family.
Of course, little girls are bound to break such promises. Her father was out of town on business one week when she was about 8 and Celeste wandered off without her mother knowing. The little girl wandered to one of their neighbors, a half-blood family, where the boys were playing in the front yard. They were a few years older than her, but she still asked if they wanted to play. They agreed, giggling all the while. The children decided on hide and seek. One of the boys grabbed Celeste’s hand and told her he had the perfect hiding spot where they wouldn’t be found. He led her out to their barn and showed her a trunk, telling her to climb in first and he would climb in after. She agreed and got in the trunk. The boy closed the trunk and locked it, a cruel prank. They left the small girl in the dark for several hours til Lucile came looking for her and the boy’s mother heard her crying and screaming. It was then that Celeste decided non-purebloods were just as evil as her father had told her. When Roy returned home and heard of what happened, he decided to move the family to Britain, where he’d grown up. The neighbor’s house mysteriously burned down the night they left.
When the family moved, Celeste’s ability as a seer began to emerge, much to her father’s distain. His great-aunt had been a seer, shunned by the family for being absolute nuts. Celeste’s prophecies were nothing outstanding. She predicted the deaths of wizards that were of somewhat importance, some death-eaters, others part of Dumbledore’s army. They always came to pass within a few days of her trance. It wasn’t until she spoke of a Dark Lady in one of her prophecies, did Roy care to pay attention to them. He began to seek out the evil Celeste had spoken of.
Celeste eventually grew up a little more and was sent to Hogwarts, against her mother’s wishes. Beauxbatons was too far from her family. Plus the idea of an all girls school appalled the young French girl. She was surprised to be sorted into Hufflepuff. It was her lack of cunning that apparently distinguished her from the great house. She was just too honest. Celeste was fine with that. She hated not knowing what side one was on. Her years at Hogwarts have been fairly uneventful. She hasn’t made many friends and doesn’t cause any trouble. Her grades are on the higher side, but not enough to draw attention.
Celeste was alone with her sister a week before the attack on the university, falling into yet another trance. This time, she predicted the destruction brought on by this Black Army. Her sister relayed the prophecy to her and she sent the fastest owl possible to her father. She never got a return letter. Ever since, she has been curious about this Lady she has heard so much about. She wants to join her on her path of destruction.
