Marcus Flint had high expectations of his children, especially his two sons Brian and Nicholas. Marcus had a business to run and he expected his boys to help run it now and take over after he was dead, but Nicholas had messed that up. Why that boy went into teaching Marcus couldn't understand. That wasn't part of the plan but he always had trouble controlling that one. Why he couldn't be like Brian Marcus just wouldn't ever know. He had tried to teach his son all that he could and he did his best to mold his son into what he was supposed to be. Maybe he should have been at home more often? He did have a business to run and he only had problems with one child. He wasn't going to write his son off yet though as he was still holding out hope for him.
Right now he had to worry about Brian. He needed one of his sons to marry the oldest single daughter of the Tchaikovsky family. He needed the families to become one so he could get more pieces of the diamond industry, though he didn't know that was the same reason that father Tchaikovsky was doing this as well. Since Brian was the eldest he got to marry the oldest single daughter, Merida. He knew Brian wouldn't mess this up like his other son would. He was going to have to get a handle on that boy but that was another problem for later. Marcus wasn't one for arranged marriages but this was just too good of an opportunity to pass up.
Right now Marcus was in his study at his home. He wasn't there often but sometimes he was. He needed to discuss some thing with Brian so he sent an owl to the boy. He was waiting patiently while doing some paperwork at him. He didn't want to be disturbed during their chat by someone around his office. The hours past as he waited for Brian. He wondered what his son could have been doing. Marcus wasn't a patient man and he didn't like to be kept waiting.

Brian had received an owl from his father while he was at work at the Ministry. Unlike his father he didn't devote all of his time to the family business. Brian did devote all of the time he wasn't working at the Ministry to the business though. Sometimes this meant completely sleepless nights. He could recall there being a few days straight where he hadn't a chance to even take a bit of a nap. This he believed showed his dedication to the business. It had to. After he finished turning some paperwork on a last incident he left work and made his way to his father's home.
He had no idea what his father could want with him. The last time he was called home it was to tell him that he was to marry Merida Tchaikovsky. He was surprised how well that was going but the last words for the most part he shared with his father were ones of anger. He wasn't exactly sure that he wanted to to really speak to his father at the moment. Then again it had been some time since the news of the arranged marriage. It was going well, so he figured it wouldn't be absolutely terrible.
He walked up to the door and knocking had kind of been forgotten. He still technically lived at home but since he'd also gotten that apartment with his father's help he didn't stay here all too often. His mother was downstairs and he gave her a hug before going into his father's study. He raised his brows. ”We have something to talk about?” he asked. Normally he would have apologized for being late because he was working but he was just ready to get this started and done with.

His son was late. This was unacceptable and he would let his son know when he got here. He continued to work while he waited for his son. He needed to talk to his son about the upcoming wedding. Of course it was hard to talk to someone when they weren't there. He sighed and taped his pen that he was writing with. He sighed again and continued tapping. Finally his son came into his study. He sighed and looked at him as Brian sat down asking if there was something they had to discuss. Yes first, you are late. Don't do this again. It's not good business son. Don't make this mistake with me again he said gathering up papers on his desk. Second I want to discuss your upcoming wedding he said. OCC:: yes this sucks sorry BRIAN MARCUS FLINT

Brian raised his brow as his father told him that he was late and that it wasn't good business. Oh, he wasn't supposed to make that mistake again. He'd need to remember this so he could be late again. Probably do it on purpose. His blue eyes scanned down to his dad as spoke. The papers had been picked up from his father's desk and his father spoke about the wedding. Brian rolled his eyes. Of course this was about the wedding, what else would matter? ”First off, I was working, unlike you I work two jobs, I'm not one hundred percent with this right now,” he told his father, ”I can't just walk out of the Ministry anytime you beckon me. So you'll have to forgive me for being late.” He may have snapped a bit much or used a bit too much of a snarky tone with his father but honestly he didn't care at the moment. He was still quite not happy about the whole wedding arrangement. Even though he was actually enjoying his time with Merida that wasn't something he was going to let on to his father.
”And of course you want to discuss the wedding, talk about good business,” he said. His blue eyes would be burning red if it'd been possible. ”My upcoming wedding, you don't really think I'm that stupid to call it off, do you?” he asked. He gave a slight chuckle. Maybe he was cutting it short with his father. Maybe he was saying a little too much more than he should have but he didn't care. It wasn't something that was going to change right now. He'd grown up to be his father. If Marcus had anyone to thank it was himself. ”So what about the wedding?” he asked in a slightly calmer tone.
