HISTORY:
Ritchie Coote was investigating for the Minstry of Magic and had set up a meeting in Muggle London with a woman by the name of Emily Hendricks. Ritchie arrived at the restaurant of her choosing and approached a woman who he thought was Emily - it turns out that the woman he sat across from, telling 'I'm so glad we're meeting away from Hogsmeade,' was not in fact the woman he was supposed to be meeting. The woman, Megan Jones, was utterly horrified by the nonchalant nature of Ritchie Coote and she certainly didn't know what a Hogsmeade was. The look on her face was enough to tell Ritchie that he made a mistake - he had the wrong woman. And not only that, but he'd just revealed part of the magical world to a complete stranger, and a Muggle one at that.
He was utterly upset with himself and immediately left, ignoring the woman's calls of 'wait!' and 'stop!' Ritchie knew he'd never be able to see the woman again and he'd said too much to a perfect stranger. Ritchie went home to his apartment a few blocks away and immediately went to sleep despite it being two in the afternoon. The next morning Ritchie woke up and all he could think of was the woman - her long blonde hair, her perfectly round nose, and her perfect eyes...Ritchie couldn't get her out of his mind. Instead of doing the proper thing and letting her go, letting it all slip away without another mention, Ritchie did something he shouldn't have: he returned to the restaurant that afternoon.
Sitting at a table alone, Ritchie continued to search the restaurant for the woman to no avail. He paid for his fish and chips and left, disappointed. As he opened the door to leave, however, standing behind it was no other than the woman he'd talked to the day before. With a wide smile on her face, she said 'I knew you'd come back.'
Ritchie and Megan sat in the restaurant for hours talking with each other and, consequently, falling in love. Their marriage occurred two years later when they were both twenty years old, and at the age of twenty one they had their first child - Nevan. Nevan was a light-haired scamp who brought his parents great joy. Just over a year later, however, Nevan and his parents welcomed another boy into their family. For Ritchie and Megan, two boys were enough to complete their family. Unlike most mothers, Megan had no desire for a daughter, and she was perfectly content with having two little boys running round their home.
When Nevan was three, the Coote family moved to a vacant home in the wealthy Kingston, England. The two Coote brothers got along splendidly but, as most siblings, fought from time to time. At the age of nine, Nevan and his brother were walking across the Kingston Bridge when they got into an argument over who was better: The Appleby Arrows or Puddlemere United. Nevan's little brother got angry and pushed him over the side of the bridge, resulting in Nevan almost drowning. Since then, Nevan's brother has been slightly distant, afraid he'll hurt Nevan again though Nevan accepted his apologies.
Since Megan learned of the magical world, being married to a Ministry worker, she wasn't too surprised when Nevan got his Hogwarts letter. She was a little distraught over having to say goodbye to her eldest son, but she was proud of him and even accompanied him and Ritchie to Diagon Alley to get all of his school supplies. Megan fell in love with the wizarding world from that point on and had Ritchie introduce her to wizards; she is now an integrated woman in the wizarding world despite her Muggle status. Nevan, with his mother's encouragement, went off to Hogwarts and found a second home there. He was quickly sorted into Gryffindor by the Sorting Hat. That was where he met a number of his friends - and pretty quickly, too. Nevan's personality allowed him to become well-known around his house as the goofy kid, the one who always had a joke to crack and was very much into Quidditch.
Nevan's second year proved a lot of fun with his brother joining him in Gryffindor house. Nevan and his brother grew closer as the years went by but there was always something in the way, it seemed, with the youngest Coote brother. Nevan approached his brother about it in Nevan's fifth year and it resulted in a fair fight between them: his brother was angry at himself for almost killing Nevan as a kid and he still couldn't get over it. Nevan didn't know what he could do to get his brother to accept the fact that he forgave him for the incident, thinking it's stupid to hold something like that so close to you. Nevan now slightly avoids his brother as an effort to give him some space - but secretly all he wants is for his brother to be his best friend again.
