PERSONALITY:
Vengeful - Those that hurt him find a lifelong enemy here who will not stop till the perceived hurt is repaid ten fold to teach a lesson. The punishment may take awhile to set up and the victim may not even realize exactly who did it, but Cam will know and there lies the extreme satisfaction. This can become quite nasty if the perceived slant was big enough.
Smart - While he may be of slightly above average intelligence, smarts is about being wise to the street, the basic common sense not inherent in most teenagers. He catches the small things, see the way the adults will respond, knows where the lines are and often how to pick the way least likely to be responded to. Reading others often falls into this as well.
Seductive - Not as in physically (though he is handsome enough and physically attractive), this is about the seduction of the mind. If someone can be misled and will believe it, it's due to his wording, his careful appearance of being on their side in the long run as they perceive it. He can very much talk out of both sides of his mouth, but you won't turn to him as the culprit later believing he got mislead himself. Wolf in Sheep's clothing indeed!
Tactile - Sensations from the delicate silks to the rough skin are what draw him. You can often find him enjoying the wind, the feeling of the castle stone, running his fingers over a woodcarving with a look of pleasure, contentment. This is one weak spot he doesn't mind letting others explore because it gives him a sort of feeling of control over his environment.

HISTORY:
Cameron (born in York, England) was a careful boy growing up cautious but quite precocious, understanding things quickly often with one lesson. As he got older he discovered early on an enjoyment of water and exploration. A few accident's along the way taught him caution even in the water and he became an adept swimmer which led him to the discovery of surfing early on one of the family vacations out of the UK proper. His mother (spotting that gleam in his eye of interest) convinced him that learning Spanish, Arabic, and Chinese would give him access to places he could learn even more; he fell for this as she drew on his beginning greed for knowledge. As he became older, riding on his father's broom with him places began to seem to him equally fascinating and by the time he reached Hogwarts he was hard at work on learning as much as he could about flying. As he grew he had private tutors (and the etiquette lessons his mother taught him to make sure he could manage any social situation) and found himself impressed more by his great-grandfather's aura of power and his mother's quiet knowledge about things she couldn't know more then anything else.
Taking the required piano, painting, dancing, manners, & later violin lessons she arranged allowed him to trade with his mother for more freedoms in return for his learning. He discovered in the few local children he spent time with that keeping a poorer sense often got their confidence sooner and he began to cultivate a careful balance of quality thing and a dearth of possessions (all useable for things beyond the obvious). Knowledge became more powerful to him then things. With his older sister he looked to Hogwarts as a great opportunity, but he was not blind to the fact he would not be alone but in competition with others there. He decided early on it made more sense to convince others of his value rather then spend the extra effort controlling and manipulating them. Although he used lies and careful deceit in words to gain people's interest, he was never more pleased then when one would defend him against another clueless he was not in their long term interest to protect. The only people he truly did not try and work his charms on was his family, his sister chief amongst these. Slowly becoming darker, he seemed on the surface a pleasant and knowledgeable Slytherin, one most did not feel they had to watch their backs around. Only those in his house saw the darker side of him in the common room and his interest in what darker magics could do for his future.
Almost none of them realized the few things he possessed were far more important then they seemed.
Flying he began to experiment with, already familiar with tricks on a surfboard and this caught the early eye of one of the House coaches for the team. Since she was female (and he had learned to bond with girls faster then boys due to his sister being a lifelong playmate) he worked on the Captain for awhile before she accepted him on the team. Working hard to master a broom more then the game, he became more and more adept at mid-air tricks and fast responses, but not always successfully from the game perspective. Instead of the favored racing brooms from the major companies, his father rewarded him with a hand-crafted broom made to keep up with the tricks he enjoyed doing. It gave him an edge in the game few sought as they went for speed; however it didn't always work. In this last year he smacked hard into a bludger at his lower back, putting him in a wheelchair for a few weeks of therapy just in time for his sister's contracted wedding. He felt weak and hated it, constrained by the seriousness of the injury which needed less magic and more time.
Losing his sister's main interest to her lawful husband & master also forced him to realize how much he hated being restricted by his own body's healing as much as anything else. Comforted by Duncan his cat, he threw himself more into his studies then ever and soon the chaotic randomness of chance he contemplated (because he knew he had the skill for being a master flier) led to his dice divination breakthrough, something his mother found yet another rare tutor for over the summer. He inhaled knowledge, striving to learn how things were done rather then have them done for him believing the knowledge would teach him better then the easy way. His love of flying and surfboard (the manipulation of these and the feeling of freedom) also led him to strike out into animagus studies which he found came easily (expecting to get a bird too), even if the study was hard in execution. Soon he found himself deep in extra studies outside of classes where he also realized that dark magic could often not be reversed and many spells could do serious damage to the physical body.
That energized his fear and led him into trying to learn every possible curse and cure to identify those threats as soon as possible, to recognize and counter as many of the dark magics as he could. Although he had to learn the darker magics to understand them as well, he began to avoid the actual curses in practice, finding using more normal spells were not only unexpected, but many could have just as disastrous an effect if carefully used (as well as harder to trace then the restricted darker magics which he could cast, but could also be traced by the Ministry). At the end of the summer he also discovered the Weasley's shop line of shield items and now has the curious interest in finding a way to put defensive magics in something he can wear always, to fend off that fear of being a victim to someone darker, quickly becoming a need he finds hard to put aside...
Cameron is a driven wizard, using the darker magics to give him an edge and protection, but finding ways to twist the lighter ones to darker purposes and using others for the advantage of his future. Few see him as the very true and real threat he is in their midst, hidden in a crowd of far more obvious (and very unsubtle) targets.
