She was raised to be great; to do something great.
Or so she thought.
Lorraine's story started even before it began, if that makes any sense at all. Some years ago a curse was put upon the Xanthopoulos' by the Reinhardts, leaving them only witches to be born into the family, no wizards. Because of that curse, nothing but the sight of revenge has been left in the eyes of that family. Though good, they bend the rules in order to break the curse put on them by the wretched dark wizards.
And so the story truly begins.
Carol Reinhardt, while pregnant with Lorraine, was fighting against aurors in order to see her husband and son escape safely. While the man and his young boy thought she was killed, along with her unborn baby girl, she was not; they were not. The woman was taken by the Xanthopoulos' to be kept until her baby was born. It wasn't until the bouncing baby girl arrived in the world that they killed the woman carrying her. This baby girl; the precious little thing with large eyes and emerald ones at that, would be raised by their family to serve a purpose for them. To break the curse.
Lorraine Nicole Xanthopoulos is what they called her, however it grew accustomed that she was called Rain or Rainnie. Little nicknames like that overjoyed the young girl. She didn't know why, she just liked it, as Lorraine was so formal. Growing up with the Xanthopoulos', the young girl had everything she could dream of. She lived in a large house, with two people that treated her well. As she grew older though, she started to put the pieces together that something wasn't quite right. She didn't look like either of her parents, making her question if she even belonged there. Being the curious young thing she was, she asked questions. It was revealed to her that she was adopted, but they told her nothing of her background or that she had a father and brother still alive. And of course no one spoke of her mother whom they killed themselves. She was just left to speculate what her biological family was like. However, finding out she was adopted did not change how she felt about her parents. They were raising her and taking care of her the best they could. She had everything she could possibly want, right there in that house that would never truly be her home; not that she realized that. She was only there to be used, after all.
As soon as the young girl was deemed ready by those who were raising her, they started her training. For a while, it was them teaching her the basics of not only magic, but also how to defend herself without it. They needed to strengthen her up and make sure she'd be ready for the ritual they had planned out; the one that would slip the little Reinhardt into a comma while someone else would take her memories and go to Hogwarts to find the boy that would help break the curse; Rain's older brother, Drew Reinhardt. If she couldn't handle it, or if she was not right for it, they would have issues. Deciding to call in one of the best in their opinion as well, the fake parents of Rain brought Mary Xanthopoulos to help with the training. Well, more like they ended up letting her take over. The girl was well trained by Heather herself before the passing, and they felt she was good enough to teach the girl that would be half of the ritual.
It was only a couple years later that Rain's parents adopted another child, this time a boy. His name was Raphael and Lorraine connected with him almost instantly. She loved not only having a sibling, but an older brother. The two became very close and she depended on him in the most trying times. Like when she felt she wasn't strong enough for a certain task in training, or when she wanted to give up. He was the one to keep her going and tell her everything would be alright. "Just keep going Rainnie. You can do it. You'll be great." He would tell her so soothingly she would believe him and persevere. But it wasn't just her new brother she found a bond with, but their trainer as well. Mary, while tough, was someone Rain found herself looking up to. She was almost like another mother figure to her.
It was almost too fast. The little girl was in time a young twelve years old and everything was soon to change.
"Now Lorraine... Rainnie. There is something we must discuss."
