BIGGEST FEAR: - Getting to a point where she is unsure of herself. It sounds like a strange fear, but she has always been confident in herself and her abilities. For her to feel lost would be a tragedy. She'd never know what to do with herself. In other words- she fears what she doesn't know
PERSONALITY:
Spoiled - She grew up in a life full of love and luxury- something that wasn't offered by other people. There was hardly a time where she wanted something and didn't get it at the end. Although her parents taught her some things about working for what you had, she didn't get much of a 'no' answer as a child. All that had to be done was a small tantrum, and perhaps some big brown watery eyes. So when she's told 'no' here, she becomes furious. She's stubborn and will do what she wants.
Prejudice - She grew up with a family of purebloods who believe the wizarding world should be only placed with purebloods and no mudbloods. All mudbloods and traitors alike should be ashamed of what they brought on this world. She believes it with every fiber she was brought on. It makes sense to her. Her family has nothing but power, and they are full of witches and wizards.
Serious - Ah, not much can be elaborated on this feature. Her sense of humor is locked up tight somewhere, and she will refuse to bring it out. All these pranksters and jokers running around the school bug her to no end. You are not in Hogwarts to see what fools you can make of yourselves. You are here to attend class, and be the best you can be.
Know-it-all - She's smart. Dedicated to her studies. Understands information quickly. Flick of her wand and practice. A true person of Ravenclaw. With that, he becomes a bit of a know-it-all, especially with her family. If she has information, she feels like she has to inform those who don't know the information. Knowledge is power. Sounds like a cliche little saying, but she learned how much better off she was with books and learning in the classroom. There isn't much classes she doesn't like, and honestly wants to take all of them, but can't. When the teacher asks a question, if she knows it, she'll answer. An annoyance to most other students, but who is it to say she cared?
Ambitious - Jocelyn wants the top. Anyone above her is someone to climb over. While she also knows to respect and appreciate those higher than her, there is also a small feeling how someday she wants to be in that respective position. It makes her driven even more so than she already was in her studies. She's a bit of a bitch, but no one can deny, once she has a goal set in mind, she puts in all the hard work to achieve it. On another note- she likes people who have the same ambitions (though would rather they not get ahead of her). That's why she likes the 'goody-two-shoes'. Because they aren't wasting their time fooling around, but putting work where it is best served.
Icy Heart - Most people would have guessed this- especially when it was referring to romance. Joss likes to look, but not touch. She remains unemotional on the matter considering that boys just get in the way of her studies and life dreams. Someday, she is expected to find a suitable match, but that's all she kind of sees. A suitable man to take care of her, her future family, and carry down the lines and traditions. Love is something that sounds wonderful in theory, but is temporary, can change with a person, and is extremely inconsistent. Nothing that can be studied or watched, and something that seems different with the person. That does not sound fun to her, so she tends to not react to any flirting or give any flirting. Though she does enjoy being noticed.
Sensitive - Joss is full of pride. Her family is full of pride. She's at a high level, and rather thinks highly of herself. So when insults are spat at her, it doesn't take very many words to really get her fired up. Really almost any word will get her to growl and take out her wand, going in a raging fit against the other person. Joss doesn't get into very many fights often, but she does yell at others plenty.
Social - When she finds the right people to talk to, of course, she is a very social animal. She enjoys having people surrounding her, hoping that they would like her for her. Joss isn't very unpleasant to be around as long as you fit the right category. She gets along with most Slytherins and Ravenclaws because of her views. Doesn't mind Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors, but she's weary of them. It doesn't dawn on her when she sits by someone sitting alone and starts talking. If she discovers an unpleasant last name, don't expect her to stay. In fact, don't be all too surprised when she stands up, turns around, and leaves at once to find someone worthy of her time. But she hates to be alone. She doesn't do well with solitude.
Perfectionist - Everything must be perfect. She was taught that from day one. Nothing out of line. Even her hair, even strand is put into it's proper place with magic. A spell must be practiced every time until she had set it in her mind. Every test must be without markings except the brilliant grade at the top. Anything less drives her nuts. Sits, stares at her, and mocks her existence. She's rather hard on herself, but of course, doesn't voice it. Voicing her weaknesses would not only be stupid, but sound like she was fishing for compliments. Oh, Joss hates nothing more.
Impatient - Maybe there is a couple of things she hates more. For one- waiting. She must be doing something all the time, or else she is waiting and finding nothing to do on her hands. As soon as she's finished her homework, she wants to know how she did on it, but has to wait for the results. This irritates her. Everything less makes her foul temper rise.
Selfish - Most of what she does is for her sake. If anything in life had taught her anything- it was to look after the number one. Helping others could get her in trouble. It could distract her. If she was out looking for other people, who was going to look out for herself? Others didn't concern her. She'd do what she could for her own best.
Golden Child - All of these traits were based upon her upbringing. She is proud to say that she lived up to every needle and thread her parents hoped for her to be. She is the golden child. She has the grades, the spells, the powers, and the point of view. Joss might as well been something created from a spell instead of a witch. She has a narrow mind and knows nothing else, and refuses to believe anything else. After all, if she starts the guess the way she was raised, what would that make her? She's everything she was meant to be. Questioning that is among her biggest fears. So she refuses to hear it.

MOTHER: Laurie (Hughs)
FATHER: Marcus Flint
SIBLINGS: Brian Marcus Flint, Brother, Graduate, 23
Nicholas Ewan Flint, Brother, Graduate, 22
--- --- Flint, Sister, Slytherin, 16
HISTORY: Jocelyn Sophia Flint was the first daughter and third child born. There was a slight gap between her and her brothers, but Marcus always believed in a bigger family unit. With two boys, he thought he was doing pretty well, but third time, he struck out. A year later, they tried again to see if their boy streak could continue (one girl wasn't bad, right?), but after her younger sister, they decided four children around the same age was plenty. They didn't want to be like the Weasley clan or anything. At first, growing up wasn't easy for the siblings. This was a couple of years after the Dark Lord was defeated, and it was no secret to which side the Flints were on. For that, there were plenty of people who thought it would be better for Marcus to be placed in Azkaban where he belonged. However, no proof was shown. The names that were given by death eaters who wanted to shorten their sentence never mentioned Marcus' name. Everything died down, lived in harmony, and people looked over Marcus Flint. The Flints managed to find their own company with other past Slytherins and those generally 'darker'. But of course, Jocelyn was never raised to believe they were dark. Just strong. Unafraid. Smart. Perfect.
Joss was raised to be every stereotype of a bad pureblood you'll ever have. She followed it to the smallest detail. Since she was little, she knew what was expected of her. Her father was actually drilling her more to become a Quidditch player- which was probably the only thing she didn't accomplish (but after being sorted in Ravenclaw, her father didn't care as much). Most of her advice was from her mother. Do her best, strive for nothing less, carry on the family line with those not connected to any muggleborns/mudbloods. Though she was hard pressed, she was also loved. She grew closest with her little sister, being so close in age, but she also adored and admired both of her ruthless brothers. When her sister was too young to play, it was her brothers Joss turned to, after all. Her parents spent most of their time at their work or a friend's house, so the siblings were all she had for company.
The day she received her letter from Hogwarts was one of the happiest days of her life. Even though she showed magical abilities when she was younger- as most children did- she had nightmares about not receiving the letter. What would her mum have said? Would it mean she was a squib? Oh, terrifying, terrifying. She held the letter close to her and put it on her desk till the day she started packing up. With her family history, she fully expected to be sorted into Slytherin, and was very surprised when the sorting hat decided Ravenclaw was the best choice for her. At first, she panicked, but no one seemed upset about it. It didn't take her long to discover they were filled with people very similar to herself. Very dedicated, proud, and smart with their decisions. One of the lessons she learned as a child was not to do things for other people. Do it for herself. As she found herself in the common room, she realized what the sorting hat must have been saying to her. Don't go into Slytherin because her family was. Go in Ravenclaw because that's where you will strive. Oh, it had made so much sense after that. So much clearer.
Her studies were priority. Slowly, and bit by bit, she discovered knowledge was power. Stupid people were very easy to control. It made as much sense as Muggleborns not being as powerful and brilliant and those who had family lines of witches and wizards. She discovered the hard way she should have continued to stick to her studies. There was once she diverted- once. Not even a story important enough to mention in her history. Just simply- a possible friend up until she found out he was a mudblood. That ended with shatters. She knew better and couldn't believe she had been spending so much time with him when time could have been spent in so many different and better places. Friends and enemies galore. Now that is her last year in Hogwarts, she found now more than ever, it is important to act now. Make decisions now. After all- Jocelyn does feel as if she is at the top.
