HISTORY: After the battle cry of the Great War, after Voldemort's death and Henry's triumph, and after Hogwarts was mended once more to the standing beauty that it is today, Rosie was born to Katherine and George Towler. Their happiness in the aftermath of the war and reconstruction would not last, however. While Voldemort and the majority of his Death Eaters were dissolved and defeated, there was still much evil in the world. Her parents both carried around a dirty little secret, one that ended in their demise. They were werewolves. Not by choice, mind you, but rather by circumstance. During the Second World War, while attempting to protect their beloved alumnus, both of her parents were attacked by werewolves at separate instances by the werewolf army that had sided with Voldemort. While they were badly injured, they were not killed by the attacks, and thus became weres.
Still, despite their unforeseen situation, their love and hope in a better tomorrow triumphed all, and after the resolve of the war, they married, and soon after had their darling only child, Rose. Life was peaceful and jubilant for a year or two, until Katie and George decided on going on an excursion (an undercover mission, really, issued by the Ministry) to Romania. Rose was left in the care of her grandparents, initially for only the two weeks that they would be gone. However, two weeks had come and gone, and eventually a month had passed. Nothing was heard of them again, and they ceased to ever return to London. The Ministry went to search for them, but brought back nothing. The Towlers were presumed deceased after no results returned. Within a year, the papers were filed and Rose's grandparents assumed full guardianship of their granddaughter, Rose.
With that, they raised her like she was one of their own children, to be brave, strong, and to keep her wits about her. As Rose was only one year old when her parents disappeared (and assumedly died), she has no recollection of them, except through stories and pictures. As far as she's concerned, her grandparents should take full responsibility and credit for raising her. And quite an interesting task it would be for them, raising a child of two magically capable individuals who were born from ordinary Muggles. Rose's grandparents had no magical abilities, but were as supporting as they could be of their childrens' and grandchildren's gifts and magical affinity. Though they didn't feel like they could give her all that she would need and/or receive with a magical foster system, they did give her what she needed through familial bonds and support.
With her parents' absence, and her aging grandparents left to tend to her, Rose found herself escaping daily life by reading as much as she could about anything and everything, and keeping tabs on quidditch teams. Quickly , these two became her favorite hobbies. When the time came around for Rose to be sorted, she was immediately placed in Ravenclaw, much to her own delight. She wasn't nearly as boisterous as the Gryffindors were, nor maleficent as Slytherins. Rosie chose to keep to herself for the most part, and thus she felt that her goal of unlimited knowledge made her a perfect candidate for Ravenclaw.
