Coming home for the holiday was not the highlight of Altair's school life. In fact she wished she could have avoided it all together and staid at the school with her friends, especial Evie and ChaeKyu. But instead she had found herself upon the train with her brothers headed to another Christmas at the Poynter household. Their parents had slightly different views on the holiday. For their English father, Christmas was one of the most looked forward to holidays in the year, where as their Korean mother was more fond of the new years celebrations. Altair just liked the gifts and Grandma Poynter's holiday cookies. Still barely one day into the holiday Altair found herself bored out of her mind. She had been laying on her bed staring at the ceiling for hours. Being alone with her thoughts was never something Altair enjoyed, and this was no exception. Things in her life were starting to become complicated and it made her feel things she didn't understand. Altair never was happy when she didn't understand her feelings. Maybe most girls would talk to their mothers about their feelings but Altair and her mother had never seen eye to eye, never. Coming out to the family so young had put a wedge between her and her parents. They always said it was a phase, that she didn't know herself yet, that she needed to give it time. And shockingly Altair was starting to wonder if maybe that was true. Her feelings were so mixed up inside, she didn't know what to think anymore. Rolling off her bed and onto the floor Altair pushed herself up and walked into the hall. She could hear her father and grandmother chattering about the events to come later, how mundane. Sneaking down the hall she quietly tapped on her older brother's door before opening it and entering. She closed the door as quickly as she opened it as if fearful someone else was going to come in and see what they were up to. Turning away from the door Altair's eyes scanned the room until they landed on Caelum, a faint smile appearing on her face as she spotted her elder brother. She jumped onto his bed and crossed her legs. "What 'cha doing Cae?" She twilled her platinum blonde hair she was sporting around her finger as she spoke to her brother. While they had their times where they disagreed on everything Altair still trusted her brother and felt she could confide in him. Maybe he would have some insight on what was going on. words: 430 tag: CAELUM BRIAN POYNTERocc: ugh this sucks I'm sorry >.< it'll get better I promise

Caelum sat at his desk, pencil poised ready to write whatever came to mind...but nothing, there was nothing that came to mind. Perhaps he could be sleeping, trying to make up for the amount of sleep he lost during school. Too many faces, to many things he couldn't unsee after he opened his eyes, he wished he never went to sleep, never bad to dream of someone dying, though he knew it was no use. His dad and grandparents tried to help but no amount of meditation or tea would help him forget the faces...the screams.
He twitched when he heard his door open, so sure it would be his mom lecturing him on eating healthy, or not integracting with the family. He had better things to do, he wanted to brew a dreamless sleep potion, but his parents were against it. He would become addicted no doubt, little did they know he already was. He looked towards his secret stash in his trunk and sighed, he would need it for school, for when his nightmares and screams would wake his dormmates. It was okay, just one more year and he could forget....he could live alone and not bump into someone, and then see them in his dreams or worse get a vision right then and there. He smiled when heard his sister's voice, he really did care for her, he was glad it was him infected and not her, this curse was not originally his to bare but he would deal with it, if only to prove that he coukd protect her.
"Trying to finish my book, what's on your mind allie?"
He spun in his chair to face her, there was obviously something on his sister's mind, she was readable...at least to him she was.

There was a lot about Caelum that Altair did not understand. Sometimes she had found herself annoyed that they shared the same ability to change themselves at will, something their younger brother could not too. At one point she had even found herself envious of the fact that Caelum could glimpse into the future. Of course Altair's envy had steamed from her need to be the center of attention, her need to be special. It was silly and stupid, a habit she was slow to grow out of. Time though had helped her to see that Caelum's visions were not something to wish for, if anything she had come to pity her elder brother for having to endure them. Perhaps Rigel was the lucky one in the family, lucky for having been born utterly normal. A faint smirk crept to her face as Caelum addressed her as Allie. Were anyone else to call her such a nickname she might have tried to start a fight with them, Caelum was the only one who could get away with it. She shrugged at first, all nonchalant. "Nothing." The reality was she had a lot on her mind, after all what fifteen year old didn't? "Nothing terribly important I mean." She chewed at her lip and looked around her brother's room. They had so many different interests these days it seemed hard to remember a time when their rooms looked similar. Her room was filled with intense energy, quidditch posters plastered the walls along with bright colors. But Caelum's room seemed calmer, more at peace. She considered a change of wall color for her own room, maybe their mother had been right, such bright colors would bring no rest. Altair might have been content to just sit in her brother's room quietly keeping his company, that was if she wasn't Altair and she actually knew how to be quite for more than a few minutes. But she was burdened with a mind that was so wired. "Can I ask you something?" It was redundant since she would do so anyways, after all wasn't that why she came in here in the first place? "How exactly do you know you are dating someone, like, really dating?" Altair had her fair share of sweet kisses and hand holds from girls. And ChaeKyu...but those were different, he was different. There was also Evie, that was something in itself. Maybe this was something she should have asked her mother, but conversations like that were strained between her and Altair. And you couldn't pay Altair enough gold to discuss dating with her father. No, Caelum was the only one she knew to ask. words: 446 tag: CAELUM BRIAN POYNTERocc: in no way an awkward conversation in the works...nope.

Caelum look at his sister and pushed scotted his chair closer to the bed so he could rest his feet on it. She was a terrible lair...or rather he was good at reading her...and other people. "I know somethings up" he said with an encouraging smile. His biggest fear was seeing the day his siblings would die, there was so much he wished he could unsee. He would give anything to he rid of this curse....except the chance thag Altair or rigel might get it.
Caelum scratched the back of his neck in thought, this was going to be a weird one no doubt. He had his share of one night stands and failed relationships but darn it, his sister should remain single....forever...or at least untill he died. He thank the fates he only had one. "Well, you and that person spend time together...just you two and they have you undivided attention and vice versa. It's usually established with a question like will you be my girlfriend or boy friend and you hold hands" refusing to accept the fact his little sister kissed people...he lef that out.
"Why do you ask, relationships trouble?" He asked knowing he was going to hate himself later for being concerned. He wanted to tell her not to date and be the overbearing protective big brother, but they seemed to never see eye to eye of late and he was determined to not spoil the rare moment of them getting along and sharing their lives with each other.

Altair pushed her tongue into her cheek and thought about her brother's answer. Hardly helpful. "Hold hands? Really Cae, really? What, am I five?" She looked at her brother in a skeptical manner. Maybe she shouldn't have asked, maybe it was a bit much to tell your older brother your problems with love, but Altair had a way of doing many things she shouldn't have. No doubt if Caelum knew everything she had done he might have had a heart attack, even more so if he knew that there was a boy involved. Still, was she having relationship troubles? Was it considered that when so many factors were undefined? "No. Maybe. I don't know." She pursed her lips and looked away at the wall, she never had been good at admitting she actually needed help. And yet here she was. "There's this girl....my friend, and remember the ball? ChaeKyu took me," This would be of little surprise, after all the boy had been her best friend since she was a first year, "but I found her there alone and well....." Altair's words came to a stop as she thought back to the moment in the photo booth, the way she kissed the other girl and how amazing it had felt. But still at the end of the night it was Kyu's bed that she had sought, his arms she had wanted to feel wrapped around her. "She let me kiss her, and it was great, really really great - but, I don't know. Its been a while and I guess...I don't know." It was hard to pin point what she wanted to say. A first for Altair seeing as she always had something to say on any matter. But with this she found herself stuck. Evie was a beautiful girl who Altair had come to enjoy, but something was stopping her from putting a name to what they were. Altair was unwilling to admit though that the something was ChaeKyu. words: 328 tag: CAELUM BRIAN POYNTERocc: poor poor caelum.

Caelum sighed and laughed at the same time, running a hand through his hair He gave his sister a cheeky grin "Hey, it was worth a shot, I know your old enough for relationships but I still hold out hope you give them all together and become a monk." He closed his eyes and listened to his sister lay her problems down and raised an eyebrow, did she realize how obvious her problemwas or was she still that stubborn little girl who wanted to go swimming in ddangerous waves.
"Sounds to me like your in a "love" triangle"
He winced as he said this and tried to placate himself by reminding him that the two choices were a boy she's been friends with since first year and a girl. He was angling towards the girl, but he knew she needed unbiased advise and he groaned at the thought. He could do this, it was better than his mother and her getting into a screaming match about stuff like this.
"Well, its normal to he confused and if you were Rigel id says you shouldn't be tied down so soon because your young but since you're my little sister I can really say forget them both and go for another person. To be honest, you need to do what feels right and not physically either. The person you need is the one you can be vulnerable, hotheaded, annoying and yourself with no matter what. If your not sure who that is, stop over thinking it and just wing...be yourself and the one who accepts it the best is your choice"
His mind was screaming that he knew her choice would not be the girl, in what book does the bestfriend not win? Its so cliched and he felt for her, he really did almost enough to look into the future to see the outcome but be didn't want to open his mind after he worked so hard to close it. "On the other hand ill help you out if you want to run awak and become a monk"

Altair cocked an eyebrow at her brother and shook her head. "A monk? I doubt that will ever happen, now maybe we can bully Rigel into becoming one because he is never going to be old enough to date." Maybe it was a double standard but Rigel was their baby brother, he was always going to be their baby brother. Maybe he was annoying more often than not but that didn't mean she wanted to watch him suffer through the struggles of heartbreak. As Caelum went on though Altair almost found herself falling off his bed as she put her hands up and waved them to try and stop him from continuing, "Wait- Wait- Wait, no, that't not - Its not a triangle Cae, that- ChaeKyu, he's my friend that's all. I'm gay remember? I like girls, just girls. ChaeKyu....he's- he's....ChaeKyu, just ChaeKyu. He's my best friend, and maybe - maybe we've kiss but it was just for fun. That's it, nothing more. I mean not...too much...more...." Her tone had been loud at friend, but as she slowed her words and they dropped off her voice had softened more and more. "Evie...well Evie is beautiful. Soft...but she is so stuck on what other people think of her. It makes me so mad, what does it matter what other people think? Why should you make yourself unhappy just because it will make everyone else happy? It's not like they will go out if their way to make their life fit your standard...." Was Evie worth it? Would she one day be asking her to change as well to fit the views of everyone around them? Kyu never did that. Altair crossed her arms over her chest and huffed. "Say this is some hypothetical 'love triangle', how would that even be? ChaeKyu is a boy. I mean, I guess, he's nice looking and he doesn't stink like most boys, and I really don't mind being close to him. But I'm not some confused bi-curious girl. I-" Altair scrunched up her face, as her hair started to fade to its natural black color, her focus on holding an unnatural color was faltering as she was clearly trying to sort this in her head. That and the urge to throw one of Caelum's pillows at him. Why did he have to get her thinking on just what she might be feeling for Kyu. "Kissing doesn't always have to mean something you know." She said in a huff. But it did, didn't it. words: 422 tag: CAELUM BRIAN POYNTERocc:

Caelum rolled his eyes, he couldn't exactly talk about his siblings staying away from relationships. He himself was terrible at them, he just couldn't stand the thought of seeing a loved one in vision. "I doubt he'll become a monk, he's smart enough to hide a relationship from us" Even if they could figure it out, they owed him at least a little privacy right? Pfft as if the Poynter kids were entirely too nosey. "Denial is the first sign that you have a problem, its okay to be confused about stuff like this. Bisexuality is a thing nowadays." As much as he wanted to admit her denying boys was awesome, he knew his sister and cared for her happiness. That boy liked his sister and she returned them even if it was confusing as hell. Sighing he took a moment to laugh at the state his sister was in, she was always a bit dramatic. "Like I said, stuff like this is confusing, sometimes people don't want to be different. They spend their whole life trying to fit in and things like this make you stick out like a sore thumb. At the end of the day, you can't expect someone who's scared or ashamed of themselves to be unashamed and unafraid of a relationship you have together." She deserved better but he wouldn't say that, he wanted her to know he was giving her the same advice he'd give a friend. "Allie, just because you like one guy doesn't make you any less into girls. Trust me when I say that there are exceptions, especially in this case. Im not saying that you should ditch your endeavors to be only into only girls, but don't ignore but don't ignore your feelings for him because he's a boy and it doesn't fit. Of course, but people don't kiss thier best friends out of whim"He gave her knowing smile before he summoned some butterbeer out of his trunk and offered her some. ALTAIR MAE POYNTER
