Being the Youngest, she feels at times she is thought careless, and reckless because of her age, particularly with her family. PERSONALITY: Compassionate Humble Focused Intelligent Diligent Creative Loyal Steadfast Tenacious MOTHER: Agatha Gertrude Greengrass FATHER: Quintuin Vanderwell Greengrass SIBLINGS: Daphne Nott HISTORY: At least 300 words CHILDHOOD Astoria was the second and last child born to Quintin and Agatha, from the beginning of her ablilty to remember there was a feeling of disconnection with her parents, she always felt as if that she had let them down that they were disappointed in her. She later found out that with her birth came a bit of disappointment with her parents as she was expected to be a boy. Astoria’s childhood was spent in the shadows of her more accomplished sister. Both girls were exceedingly intelligent Daphne being the more ambitious type of personality always seemed more eager to prove herself and was more content in asserting herself where Astoria liked to hang back and see how her sister accomplished things before asserting herself. In an environment that would naturally breed competition. Astoria simply looked to obtain things for her own appreciation instead of the approval for others, partly because she felt that from her birth she was tainted with the flaws of being a daughter instead of a son she was simply not able to obtain the degree of excellence that her parents would approve of. Rebellion ensued but not all rebellion comes with tattoo’s and promiscuous natures. Her rebellious attitude came in the form of an attitude that simply didn’t care for the approval of her mother and father, she learned in large part because of her parents to only do things for your own desire, never for the approval for others because if you wait for others to approve or even appreciate your effort you might be waiting for an eternity. While Daphne was content in the admiration of her parents Astoria continued to march to the beat of her own drum, taking a more passive path in her life achieving high marks in primary education but only when she manipulated the teachers to allow her creative discernment on projects. Astoria worked well in a group projects being a natural multi-tasker she achieved high marks in primary education but she yearned for creative blank canvas that came with art, and the challenging mystery that came with the science of biology. She loved learning about how the body works and was more interested in the difference that separated them from muggles, and squibs. STUDENT LIFE Astoria entered Hogwarts two years following her sister. She found everything magical fascinating where it was never kept out of her hands a child, Astoria was now at the age where she could learn the do magic for her it was a huge step to take for her independence. Though most of her family had been sorted into Slytherin because of their ambitious nature, Astoria possessed a different temperament that set her apart from the sister they many professors were naturally grouping her with.. Many assumed she would be sorted into Slytherin, herself and parents included. That however would never transpired, though that didn’t mean that old hat didn’t struggle with decision though. It really caught the ambitious nature that was more self-serving than a desire to please others as a trait that would serve her best in Slytherin, but what had her sorted in Ravenclaw was her complex mindset about important things in her life., her desire to research and obtain a conclusion on her own instead of relying on others to achieve it for other peoples approval.. The hat caught on the fact that Astoria was indeed a very independent minded person. IT played with its decision on the sheer single fact. Astoria sought a quality education above everything else Hogwarts offered, and with that one fact Astoria Greengrass was the third person to be sorted into Ravenclaw in nineteen ninety three. She quickly assembled with a few of her fellow Ravenclaws finding her place among them as they like her had a like mind for learning, and many like here were amazingly creative some of the halfblooded students of her house played muggle instruments, she found herself fascinated by their natural ability to live a life without magical elements knowing that some of the others even could drive an actual vehicle without aids of magic. Some of the Muggleborn sorts even though they seemed to assume she would harbor some prejudices towards them the moment they learned she was pureblooded, and came from a family who was well known in the Pureblooded societies. Though if anything she was simply curious about them and honestly didn’t hold any resentment towards them. Only a select few people got to know her enough to realize this fact about her. Marietta Edgecomb who reminded Astoria of Daphne with her demeanor naturally the two girls clicked and became fast friends. Fast friends, and best friends are simply not the same thing. Marietta had a lot of likable personality points, but because of her age she was simply closer to Cho Chang whom was also a person that Astoria liked, though Astoria’s second year she found Cho to be absolutely revolting with her desire for attention. It is that time that Astoria really pulled back socially and focused more on trying to find the stand in physiological make up that made her magical. It was during her fourth year that she found an appreciation for Luna Lovegood whom many thought was a bit touched.. Astoria was originally drawn in by Luna’s calm demur, and she found herself entertained by Luna’s eclectic creative stories about creatures that Astoria had assumed were fictional creatures of fairy tales. However Luna had challenged her lack of belief with one simple question.. “ You believe in some extra biological ingredient divides us from Muggles, it is something you can’t prove or with sight or touch, how is that different than Nargals?” With that simple challenge Astoria found a firm appreciation for minds like Luna, and with appreciation she set about making that extra biological ingredient tangible for Luna, and more importantly herself so she could package it and sell it.. She found a un-likely partner in her extra independent studies and that was Sue Li whom had a tendency to faint at the site of all things gushy, but was a wonderful violinist whom was content to fine-tune her art while Astoria combed over various textbooks and the occasional dissection of whatever magical creature she could get her hands on. Truly things were splendid her fifth year till first concern that started the school year off on a sour note.. The Disappearance of Luna it was the first time she bothered with writing home to her parents explaining that the girl was not a threat at all to anyones war she pleaded by note for her father to report anything he knew about the girl to Ministry with so many people dying and feared dead it was the first time that the actually thought of loss touched Astoria where she wasn’t overly close to Luna she didn’t want harm to come to her.. Regardless of whom she aligned herself with. The reply was short and direct. NO and don’t ask of that again. Luna was found and towards the end of the school year she returned but with her return also came war. It had been whispered of days prior to it actually erupting and most parents believed that Hogwarts would stand and their children would be safe. Her parents included. By the time word got out that the battle lines were drawn and that they were drawn on the property of Hogwarts most students were stuck un-able and like Astoria un-willing to leave. Many people assume that because she had a pureblooded name that no harm would come to her.. However reality was very different from assumed delusions particularly in times of war a lot of pureblooded children whom’s parents were assumed to be aligned with the Dark Lord were subjected to memory altering spells either to keep parents whereabouts secret, or in Astoria’s case to obtain knowledge about suspected Death Eaters.. Astoria was found along the back end of Hogwart’s cabin bleeding and hosting an assortment of battle wounds raging from a pair of horns from a hex, and a badly mind altering hex. Her parents rushed her to St. Mungo’s where the healers rushed to successfully dissolve her small antler like horns. Her memory however proved to be more of a problem for healer’s as it was centered in the the confines of her temporal lobe making her exhibit some Alzheimer’s syptoms that affect her short term memory. With Healer’s struggling with cure’s, and her potential to forget whom she is and wander away her parents were left with little choice but to put her in the lock ward and hope for a solution for their daughter. It is during that year spent in the lock ward of St Mungo’s Astoria learned compassion for those who are often forgotten because of illness has deemed them un-treatable. She learned also how to close her mind off to the horrors she bore witness to daily in the lock ward. She had no idea but meditation and building a mental refocus focal point she would slowly work herself to occlumency abilities that would not only help in recovering from her current mental situation, but would also server her in the future. With being able to focus herself to the point she could shut down all her senses she was able to aid the healers in pin pointing the particular lobe that was damaged so they could work on that particular part without risking more damage to other parts of her mind.. Ten month’s later she was given a clean bill of health. She would say goodbye to those who did not have the ability to do the same she vowed to return to try to help them and others like them. With that fresh goal she returned back to Hogwarts to finish her education. POST SCHOOL AND WAR Upon completing her education at Hogwarts Astoria quickly dived into the next goal in her life.. She would become the best healer that wizarding world knew. A lot of healer struggle with finding the specialty they would work over. Astoria did not because from the moment she left St. Mungo’s she was determined to wage a war of her own against spell damage. With her attention focused on her career and making a name for herself as a healer she simply didn’t focus her attention on the subject that most girls her age did. Love was never a focus of her ambition after all in her opinion it was stupid to sacrifice the admiration, respect, desire of many men for the eventual scorn of one. To say that settling down and being someone’s little wife was the furthest thing from Astoria’s mind is an understatement. However it happens and Draco Malfoy is what happened to her, she under a lot of influence from her parents reluctantly to start a relationship with Draco Malfoy as she always figured him to have more in common with her sister than her.. She had heard rumor’s of his reputation and was not exactly naive to the possibility that it was not a relationship that would hold the test of time.. However he proved her wrong.. They married a month following her acceptance of a positon at St. Mungo’s as a healer. A year following she bestowed on him what was rumored to be the biggest honor to purebloods, a son. CURRENT Astoria is a head healer for the Spell Damage ward of St. Mungo’s she is respected and admired, and like the goal she set for herself she has achieved global recognition for her expertise, however next to her husband whom is serving as Minister of Magic she is much to her own displeasure falls under the shadow of her politically driven husband, at times she feels the only one that really appreciates her is her son Scorpius whom appears to be harboring secrets of his own, for the first time in their life something has built a wall between mother and son. But like all things built of deception it is likely to crumble and fall. We will see how strong the Malfoy name is when realities are un-covered.. After all she is only in her forties and in her mind mid-life is for those who are enslaved to the restrictions of their body. And for her mind over matter is a game she has already one.. Middle age is for those who read page turners and gossip there are more important things to do for women like her..
