BIGGEST FEAR: His Boggart would take the form of a Fwooper, though his fear is directed at the bird's song (said to drive listeners insane). An image of himself, ranting and raving in a way that clearly marks him as having gone insane might also pop up. He also has a fear of being unsuccessful or, worse yet, poor and without money.
PERSONALITY:
[*] Obsessive - He NEEDS his room to be perfect, he NEEDS his wand work to be perfect, and he NEEDS to make sure every little detail on his essays are perfect. Since he was young, he was always known to keep things tidy and work until he was great at something. At age three, as his mother loves to boast about, he kept himself up in his room writing until he managed to get just the right hand-writing.
[*] Honey-Tongued - He'll make people feel better if he needs to to get his way. He could make a hag feel like she's the prettiest thing on earth. On the other side of the same coin, he knows ways and words to make a Veela think they're hideous and unwanted. Occasionally, he'll use his gift of words to cheer up a really, really sad looking person, but he doesn't quite tell anyone
[*] Money-Minded - Having a mother as uneconomically sound as his own (love her though he may, she honestly did not need those fifty euro shoes), Darrius has become a little business man in his own right. Though only seventeen, he has added a bit more to the family fortune then was expected of him at his age.
[*] Ambitious - He is a Slytherin, after all. Since he was young, he had extremely large aspirations for himself, ranging from becoming Minister to marrying a Veela woman. Now, Darrius has plans to work at Gringotts or in the Ministry when he gets out of school, and has done quite a lot to make sure he gets there.
[*] Manipulative - Darrius knows how to manipulate people, especially for personal gain. He knows how people work, and more importantly, how to work them.
[*] Arrogant - If you can't love yourself, who will? That has been a Zabini family doctrine for as long as the family's existed, though all members take the phrase to a new level. Darrius is no exception. After all, he is rather fabulous, good-looking, and witty. How could be not love himself?
[*] Sarcastic - It's like the language of Slytherins, and Darrius is quite fluent in it. He uses it as a way to tool to cut into the stupid lads and lasses he knows, and doesn't feel bad about it at all.

HISTORY: As the first born son to Blaise Zabini and Pansy Parkinson, it really shouldn't come as a surprise that Darrius was rather pampered growing up. Even with his two other brother, Darrius often got what he wanted, when he wanted, and was an obvious favorite of his mother. Both parents came from rich pureblooded families that weren't effected too much by the war due to the fact neither family participated in it despite their large blood prejudice towards muggles. However, as Darrius observed even in his early years, his mother had a penchant for spending on things the family could've been fine without. Not that it made too big of a dip in the family fortunes, as his father was rather successful at whatever he did, but it still caused great irritation to a grandmother who was responsible for starting up the financial success in the family.
That same grandmother would spend quite a big deal of her time around Darrius and his brothers, giving them advice on everything from dealing with muggles, to being perfect. Darrius had never been fond of her, even from a young age, especially with the way he heard her talk about his mother. Though he did love his father, his mother doted on him much more then him and as such, he found the fact that grandmother Zabini was trying to convince his father to kill her... distasteful, to say the least. Of course, his father never even looked at his mother with even an inch of spite - for all his arrogance, the man had legitimately fallen in love with Pansy - but Darrius always had a fear that he would come home to find his mother murdered. After his seventh birthday party, when he noticed his grandmother pouring something into the soup she was serving his mother, the boy rarely left home due to this fear.
Enter his eleventh birthday. Every since his the woman had come back from a trip to visit a friend his grandmother had been acting erratically - more openly hostile towards Darrius's mother, physically mean to both Darrius and his brothers, and berating of her son. But Darrius never expected her to completely collapse during what was supposed to be the best birthday of his life. Nor did he expect her to start ranting and raving at the current state of her... dog? Darrius was sure she didn't own a dog, but he still made to help the woman up from her place on the floor. His father reacted much more quickly, giving her what looked to be a big bear hug and apparating to St. Mungo's. Darrius would find out later in life that the friend his grandmother had visited had owned a Fwooper. Through a course of events that aurors still have yet to piece together, the friend ended up dead, and there were obvious signs of Grandmother Zabini being handcuffed to a chair in the same room as the Fwooper. The song of the bird had driven her insane.
Darrius went to Hogwarts the next year. He had turned become a rather quiet boy in the time since his grandmother's incident, but he tried not to put it all behind him. After all, he had taken on his first big hurdle: getting into a House that was acceptable. Now he just needed to successfully make it through the year. Which he did, without much trouble, and has continued doing for the past few years. Now in his seventh year, Darrius is ready to take on his N.E.W.T.s and get out into the real world.
