BIGGEST FEAR: Angela's biggest fear is that she will be mistreated because she's different.
PERSONALITY: Angela is very shy. Even before she knew what her disability was, she was already reserved and somewhat cut off. While her sister enjoyed attention and did what she could to attract it, Angela did what she could to avoid it. It was hard for her to have any type of spot light attention because she couldn’t communicate the way everyone else could. Part of her wondered that, even at a young age, if deep down she already knew that something was wrong with her. Though her parents assured her that she was perfect and beautiful, she felt more like a pariah.
Because she was shy, Angelique tended to drag Angela along with her in hopes of breaking her free of her own prison. Of course Angela would do whatever Angelique wanted to do, but she was never proud of it. Angela would watch as Angelique played prank after prank on their parents and the muggles around them. It horrified her that someone she loved could make others feel the way Angelique made them feel. When Angelique got in her rebellious moods, Angela tried to talk her out of doing anything silly, but often found herself getting talked into doing the very thing she had been trying to stop. When it was all over, Angela felt miserable and would keep her distance for a few days.

HISTORY: When Angela was a baby it was obvious something wasn’t quite right. From the same room where Angela was delivered, she could hear her sister’s cries ringing loudly off the walls, but no sound came from her own lungs. Though her eyes were closed and her mouth was open no sound came out. Everyone thought her airways were blocked, but they soon realized that wasn’t the case. Naturally her parents took her to the best healers in the world, but they couldn’t help her and so began a life of turmoil.
As she got older, she saw her sister change, latterly, right before her eyes. It was almost hypnotic the way she could change her appearance and it drew Angela in. As time went on though, Angela began to long for her sister’s ability. She didn’t think it was fair that her sister should be blessed with a voice and an ability. Even at a young age, Angela feared getting left behind. She felt close to her sister and didn’t want Angelique to go on to great things without her. It was hard for Angela to imagine what she could possibly be good at. She felt hopeless and wanted to give up.
On top of learning how to read and write, Angela and Angelique were forced to learn sign language as a way of communication. While Angela’s parents and sister could talk to her with words, she had to use sign language or written responses in return. Though the later took longer, it also helped when she was around those who didn’t know her special language. It annoyed Angela at times that she had to be so different, but at the same time glad that it made her unique. Some of her friends however, teased her about being so different. Her parents assured her that it was just because they didn’t understand why it happened to her nor how it affected her. Either way, Angela hated it, but learned to accept it.
Then it happened. When Angelique decided to throw a fit at their tenth birthday part, Angela had finally had enough. As Angelique yelled and said some very nasty things to her and their parents, Angela snapped. She could feel herself changing before she saw the change. Her hair turned bright red and her eyes changed to match. The anger she had been holding inside her just seemed to melt away as she changed her appearance. Her parents were both proud and horrified because their muggle friends were in attendance. Once Angela realized what she’d done she was also pleased and horrified. She knew about both the magic and non-magic world and how the later had to hide from the prior. What she had just done flouted those rules and she knew she would have to pay. To everyone’s amazement the muggle guests played it off as a party trick and said it was the best they had ever seen. With a crisis averted and the guest finally gone, the du Coudray family celebrated.
When Angela and Angelique got their acceptance letters they couldn’t have been happier, but Angela was scared. How was she going to be able to go to school with her disability? It was hard for her to see herself doing well, but her parents surprised her with an easy spell that could take her thoughts and turn them into words so she could be easily understood. With that spell under her belt she was surprised to find that being at Hogwarts wasn't as easy as she thought. Because of her disability she found that she had to work twice as hard as everyone else because she couldn't verbally use the spells. Granted she eventually got the hang of things, and she was able to stay with her same aged classmates, but she struggled more than she let on. She even had to ask for extra help, but she didn't want anyone to know. When it came to written work, she did pretty well, it was just the active things she had the most problems with; and it made her feel helpless.
But she had another secret, one that not even Angelique knew. Angel had been the first to show her Metamorph side and when Angela didn’t, she got jealous until she too showed signs of the ability. Finally she felt equal to her sister again. Though she couldn’t control her ability as well as Angelique could, she was glad that Angel was there to help, but even with her help Angela struggled. It was almost impossible for Angela to change her appearance. In secret she tried to change, but she never could do it. The only times she was ever able to access her ability was when her emotions were at their highest point: extreme anger, sadness, embarrassment and happiness. She couldn’t change at will and she was scared. Not sure if it was normal to have the ability and not be able to control it, Angela kept her lack of control a secret. She might have been a Metamorph, but she wasn’t a good one.
