i could use somebody James felt disconnected from the world, like he wasn't needed nor wanted. Xarrah was the only one who made him feel complete now. It seemed like his family was breaking apart, or at least leaving him out of it all. He sighed. What he really needed was some time with someone he used to be close with, and the best person to invite to do that with was his cousin Rose. He and Rose hadn't been on very good terms since her getting together with Scorpius, but that had to change. She was one of the few people he was able to rely on fully and his life hadn't been the same since. James was distraught, what with trying to protect his family, his girlfriend, and himself, plus becoming a Professional Quidditch Player. He had a lot of things on his plate, but he was determined to handle it all.
It didn't seem, however, that he was handling it well.
James sent an owl to Rose, asking her to meet at the family shop in Diagon Alley, ushering her to bring Scorpius if she wanted. He didn't really care at that point; James just needed his cousin and best friend back into his life. As he left his flat and found his way to Diagon Alley, he thought back to when they were attacked by the Dark Lady, and wondered what exactly made him freeze up and be tortured that way. James felt vulnerable whenever he thought back to that moment, listening to Rose's screams between his own. He shivered as he walked, but not from the coldness of the snow falling.
He found shelter inside the Weasley's shop and greeted the family of his that were there working. James climbed the stairs and ducked out in the hangout space upstairs. It was simply a room with a few jars of candy that their family had gathered up there over the past months, with a radio playing low acoustic music in the background. He sighed and collapsed into a chair, leaning his head back onto the wall. He closed his eyes and folded his hands in his lap, listening to the soft music and waiting for his company.

you are loved don't give up, it's just the weight of the world. when your heart is heavy, i will lift it for you. don't give up, because you want to be heard. if silence keeps you, i will break it for you. everybody wants to be understood, well i can hear you. everybody wants to be loved. don't give up, because you are loved. don't give up, it's just the hurt that you hide. when you're lost inside, i will be there to find you.------------------ An unexpected note arrived in her room, James' owl being the one to carry it. She had been sitting on her window sill, reading a book when the owl appeared, carrying a small piece of parchment on it's foot. With a confused look, she took the parchment gently from the owl and opened it before reading the words so neatly written for her. James wants to meet... me? Ever since their fight, they hadn't really spoken. Ever since... that night. Just the thought made Rose's mind think back to the attack and the screams of her cousins as well as her own. And the blood. She always thought of the blood. She had been over that attack for quite some time, but it had still been a traumatic occurrence in their past. Rose was sure she would never forget that night and how she felt to be afraid for her cousin's lives, or the feeling of that curse. It was the worse feeling she had ever felt, but it couldn't compare to the feeling of thinking she would lose her cousins. Nothing would ever top the fear of losing someone she cared about so deeply. Her family and friends, Scorpius, they were everything to her and always would be.
But she wanted to see her cousin. Rose wanted nothing more than to make things right with him. Especially now that things were so dangerous and anything could happen at any moment. She didn't know how she would feel if she lost him and they had never resolved their issues. Sure, they apologized, but that didn't mean they talked after the fact. James was one of her best friends and she wanted that to be something that stayed true until they died. He wasn't just family, but someone she always used to go to for anything she might need and she had always been there for him. Her heart broke at the thought of losing that special bond between them.
Pushing herself up from her spot, Rose watched the owl fly away as she closed the window before apparating to Diagon Alley. Finding her way to their families shop, Rose opened the door and greeted the family members that were working. She stayed there for a moment as they spoke to her, asking questions about the big day that would be coming up and how Scorpius was doing. On a regular basis, she would love to stay for a while and chat, but she was anxious to get to her cousin. So, after answering their questions promptly, she bid farewell and then made her way up the stairs.
Stopping at the top, her eyes immediately found James sitting in a chair, a small smile crossing her lips. "Hey." She said softly, taking a few more steps toward him. "How are you?"
