- RISE - "Together, we’re gonna rise with the morning light." he hated getting lost. it was how he seemed to have spent the last month or so in this castle. trying to find classes and failing with the whole task. he sighed and looked at his watch, his books gripped in his hand as he hurried down a passage way trying to find his way back to the main stair cases. he hated those things, while he liked being at the school he had to admit that beuxbatons, had at least been easy to navigate and he hadn't spend most of his time talking his way out of getting in trouble for being late. biting his lip he glanced down one of the corridors and saw it lead to a door. so that wasn't the right way. "i can imagine the headline now .. boy dies of starvation while lost in hogwarts" he mumbled to himself as he kept on moving down the hall. he stopped when he noticed a painting he'd passed before and he groaned, worried now that he was never going to work out how to get off this floor. he was going to ask for a map, it didn't have to be a good map, but something that would show him how to get between classes without needing to take a packed lunch with him. he sighed and decided to take a small break. resting against the wall he glanced at his schedule and shook his head. he was missing his charms class right now. one of the classes he needed help in. he sighed again, louder this time and pushed his shoulder off the wall and kept walking down the hall. he stopped when he heard a familiar crackling laugh and he groaned inwardly. not only was he going to be late and not only was he as lost as anything, now he had peeves popping up to give him trouble. he'd met the thing the week before when the poltergeist had decided to come up through the floor of his potions class and proceeded to tip all the cauldrons over and crack a few glasses. it hadn't been a fun experience, a few of the students had even required the help of the nurse in the hospital wing but jake had been one of the lucky ones. though this time he didn't think he was going to get out of it this time. "frenchie's lost, frenchie can't find his way" he heard the voice and turned his head in order to see peeves swooping at him with what looked like the arm piece of a statue. he ducked just in time and gripped his books to his chest and started to run along the hall. he needed to outrun him. otherwise he was sure that piece of statue was going to end up hitting his body at some point and that's the last thing he needed. he thought quickly, running toward the door he'd seen before. he hoped it lead to somewhere other people were, or a classroom he could hide in or better yet he'd find something he could use to ward peeves off with till he could find his way off the floor. ducking again as the arm came toward his head again he ducked down the hall, his shoes slipping a little on the tile but he managed to right himself and grabbed the handle, pushing the door open he ran through it before actually looking where the door lead. big mistake. when his foot hit air his eyes widened and he glanced down in time to see that the door didn't lead to anywhere he thought he had, it just lead to a staircase. before he could do anything he felt himself falling and the next thing he knew he was bouncing down the stairs and landing at the bottom. his books flew everywhere and the air was forced out of his chest when he hit the bottom so he just lay there coughing and spluttering while his chest recovered. pages from his book fell around him as peeves sat on the top of the staircase laughing at him. he groaned and closed his eyes, burying his head into the crook of his arm for a moment till he got his wind back. he didn't hear the footsteps coming toward him over peeves' laughing, and it wasn't till a shadow fell across his body that he realised someone was standing near him. coughing, he lifted his head, a small cut above his eyebrow from grazing it on the stone of the stairs and he blinked up at the girl. The only pleasure of being a senior student is that you have free periods more often. While others made use of their free time to enjoy the sunlight, read a few books or do homework, Aisling Dolohov disappeared in the Room of Requirement, where Drew used to train her, to do her own training. After the little talk with Dathan Burke the other day, she realized that she needed to stop wasting her time on blaming and hating herself. She was stronger than she or anyone else could imagine. How many times she had said that she could take her of herself? She should let them see the warrior that she was, regardless of the side she was on. Now Drew could not be by her side 24 hours a day like he had. She would not like it, would she? She made herself to practice all the moves in karate and master her combat skills with all the weapons she was capable of using, and she had recently found a new interest in bows and arrows. One day, she would find all these trainings helpful. At least for the moment, she felt a lot more confident that she could protect herself if need be. It was nice to have someone promise her that he would protect her. But she would not be a child forever. Drew would not be following her anywhere she went either - she had learned that cold hard truth on Valentine's day when she saw him with some other girl. He was never her personal bodyguard anyway, he was her trainer and he had done a good job in teaching her what she needed to know to survive. Now it was one job left for her to do: survive. She would stop crying. She would stop being the reason for anyone's pain. The path she chose was changing. She was not on the angels' side, she was not on the devil's either. But did it really matter? Choosing sides? It only mattered to her now that the people she loved were safe. Xochilt, Icarus, Xarrah, Oliver, Gisella and Charlie. Drew and Dahlia, too, though they might not need her protection. It was time to grow up. So Aisling made her way to the Room of Requirement as usual that day. The corridors and all the passages were so familiar to her that she might as well walk them with her eyes closed. She would definitely miss this place after her graduation. Seven years under this roof was the best seven years in her life, in spite of all the craziness she had been going through. Here she met her first love, had her first heartbreak, befriended amazing people and found out what she truly lived for, and would die for. Every stone around her, every grain of sand under her feet. She would miss them dearly. It was already half of the school year. The other half would be over soon. And who knew what was waiting for her in the world out there? The Ravenclaw girl hurried down the stairs, passing some fourth year kids who were laughing and talking about something. Frenchie? They reminded her of how she used to call Drew when he had just came back from Germany and could not get rid of the weird accent which many girls found sexy. She would call him German instead of his name and enjoyed his glare in triumphant. Instinctively, she tapped her head with palm of her hand. "Stop thinking about him, Dummkopf! Weren't you humiliated enough that Vanlentine's day? Stupid, stupid, stupid girl!" She cursed herself as going down the stairs, when she caught sight of a major fall down the staircase of a little boy. "Oh God..." The girl widened her eyes before she rushed to his side. "Are you all right, boy?" He seemed all right to her, except the clueless look on his face, as though he had been lost for a good while. The girl gave out her hands, offering to help him stand up. "Watch your step next time, okay? But shouldn't you be in class now?" He did not look like a senior boy. Not with that babyish face and wide innocent eyes. tag: JACQUES 'JAKE' MATHIEU MARTIN TEMPLATE BY ELIZA @ Delusional & SP
