Nina loved her current broom, but sadly even all her affection for it couldn't save it from destruction after the last game. The Slytherin team had demolished it with the aid of Thaddeus Thorn. Nina managed to play out the rest of the game with what remained of it, but the harsh fact was it was beyond repair.
Thank Merlin for Splintwitches. They sold all the best brooms and at decent prices. And thank Merlin for her kind father for loaning her the galleons. she would of course pay him back with her summer job. After all, she had to have something to make money while she prepared to try out for the Wasps, even if she was staying at home a short while.
As she entered, she saw it- the BIG TIME of all brooms... The Nimbus Excelsior. Nina practically had to wipe the drool off her chin. This broom in the possession of the Puffs could possible cause them to end the year at the top.

Hogsmeade was one of Lyanna's favorite places to be as it always presented itself as a peaceful and friendly place. Of course, you got the few that were just annoying arses or students that you didn't get along with, but most of the time she enjoyed spending a day in the village. That particular day, Lyanna had gone out alone. Sometimes she enjoyed going out by herself and letting the day go where it lead her, whether that meant she stayed by herself all day, or she found a friend to hang out with. Either way, she was sure the day would be just wonderful like usual. She was an optimistic girl and decided it was the best way to go about things, even when said things weren't going so well. But that day had been fine so far.
And it seemed as though it would get better. A smile appeared on the Ravenclaw's lips when a flash of red hair passed in a nearby store. It was one of her best friends Nina. She was in another house and a rival in Quidditch, but off the pitch, no one would know that they were competitive against each other. Walking into the store, Lya quietly made her way up to where her friend was looking a broom before she hugged the girl around the shoulders. "Nina! Fancy seeing you here!" She beamed, pulling away to smile at her friend. "It's a shame what happened to your broom. Looking for a new one I assume?"

Nina turned and smiled after Lynna hugged her. She then gave Lyanna a proper hug. Lyanna... competitor Chaser... never an enemy.
"Hello love!" she said. "Lovely seeing you!" He then frowned about the broom. "Thaddeus Thorn happened to it. Spiteful bugger wrecked it in the last game. Probably felt it would make him look like Slytherin House hero to take out a Team Captain. Fortunately I held out until the game ended. But my broom is done for."
Nina then smiled again.
"But how are you, love?" she asked. "Seems we haven't been around each other much other than the games. And then we obviously don't get to talk much because we're so bloody hell bent on beating the other's team." Nina chuckled at that. "I've seen enough of Lyanna my opponent. I've missed Lyanna one of my best mates. We need to catch up a bit since you're here and all."

It was always a good time seeing Nina, as she was one of her best friends and just as lively as Lyanna was. When the girl gave her a proper hug, Lyanna returned the favor with a smile. "I know. I saw." The brunette told her friend with a frown before letting go and looking at Nina once again. "I was there and cheering you on. If you didn't hear me, I'm surprised." She teased with a light chuckle. "But I was so worried about you! I mean, I didn't doubt you'd pull it together, but it was hard to watch your broom falling apart and you very close to falling. I'm so glad you're alright." Her voice was firm and serious. What Thaddeus did was wrong, even if it was Quidditch and things got heated. Lyanna didn't believe he should have done what he did.
"I'm doing just fine. Thank you for asking! How are you dear?" She asked, knowing that the girl was distraught over her broom. But maybe she was at least alright on the side of that. "I agree with you. I miss you my friend! We definitely need to catch up." Lyanna said, crossing her arms in a casual way as she looked around. "But first, we need to get you a broom."

Nina was glad Lyanna was cheering her on. When Lyanna played Gryffindor or Slytherin, Nina always did the same for her. And when Ravenclaw played Hufflepuff, Nina was a respectful opponent. The last thing she would ever do was hurt or humiliate Lyanna on the Pitch.
"You're the best, Lyanna, and I do believe I heard you screaming like a banshee as I soared around," she chuckled.
Nina smiled when Lyanna said she was fine and then asked how she was.
"Well aside from the broom issue... and freaking out over our FINAL tests... I'm fine," she said. "I can't believe graduation is coming up. I mean... we've been doing this for seven years... and soon... it's over." Nina sighed. "But you know what they say about all good things..." She then beamed. "They bloody continue because you and I are hanging out every chance we get after Hogwarts!"
Nina agreed- broom, then catch up.
"Well... I mean the new Nimbus models are wicked as always, but... I don't know... I mean everyone's buying those. There's no real edge with them. I'm thinking of spending a few extra galleons and buying the new Silver Arrow model."
