Once again, the Minister of Magic stood before all who attended to hear his speech regarding past events and the future. People were used to, and probably tired of hearing all these speeches by now, and in all honesty, Draco was tired of giving them. But this one was different. This one would call for real action. Today Draco would ensure that what happened to the Ministry during Voldemort's reign of terror would never happen again.
"Good afternoon," he said to everyone. "Tonight we gather under grim, but necessary circumstances. It is believed that with the recent rescue of Headmistress Minerva McGonagall that the current dark forces plaguing our world plot to make a new move toward the fall of our society. What that move is, I cannot say. However, after discussing the matter with my Adviser, Hermione Granger, we look back toward the days when Lord Voldemort was a threat. It was then that the Ministry was not only nearly destroyed from without, but within as well. Dark Wizards and Dark Witches who pretended to be loyal to the Ministry betrayed it. And if it had not been for the bravery of Potter, my Adviser, her husband, and others, the Ministry would no doubt still be in the hands of the wicked...
"But it isn't. Our Ministry is stronger than it has ever been, and I refuse to see an inner-threat rise again. Therefore, effective immediately all of those who are in service of the Ministry will be questioned and examined. Anyone who shows characteristics of betrayal will be subject to further investigation. Anyone who is found guilty of being a traitor will be removed from the Ministry and potentially placed in Azkaban. This is a harsh edict, but one that, in the long run, will allow the Ministry to remain strong and our society to remain safe. And most importantly of all, it will be a sharp thorn in the side of the Dark Lady. Thank you all."
And with that Draco answered a few questions before turning and walking away toward his office.

It was that time again. Another speech made by the Minister of Magic and another amount of time wasted by it. Eva being the junior assistant to the man was obligated to be at each and every one of them. But it was her job and it would keep her on top of the game, as well as give her insight into where the ministry was going next. Of course, she could easily find that out on her own, just by asking questions and holding discussions, but the speeches saved her the time of doing so. Well, for some things. That was the only good thing about these drawn out announcements to the public.
As she stood in the back with her clipboard, taking notes, she listened intently to the words that escaped the lips of the older man. Her jaw almost dropped as he began to speak about the fact there could be people infiltrating the ministry. Even more unease flooded her mind as he spoke of the examinations on each member. Taking a subtle, but deep breath, she calmed herself so she gave nothing away. Evalia worked too hard to get where she was and these examinations weren't going to be the thing to stop her. She knew how to win the hearts of people and she looked the part of an innocent. She was sure she'd pass with flying colors. Unless they had tricks up their sleeves, like a truth serum or something of the like. If so, she would have to find a way to protect herself.
When the speech had ended, she waited for everyone to flood out before she made her way to the Minister's office. It was custom for her to speak with him after his speeches. Plus, she needed to figure out if he had anything top priority for her to do. Knocking on the door, she turned the knob before walking in and allowing her eyes to land on the man. "Excuse me Minister. I hope you don't mind me dropping in. Lovely speech you gave." She told him, an innocent smile taking hold of her lips. Stay calm, dig for answers and don't give anything away. That was the plan.

Draco had little time to sit and think over what he had just told to the public when his Junior Assistant walked in. Evalia had proven worthy enough of the job in Draco's view. And given the fact that she was one his top staff, he really had no particular issue with her knocking then walking in. Hermione and Emil did so throughout the day as well.
Draco was about to say he didn't mind her stepping in when she said he gave a "lovely speech".
"I wouldn't call it lovely, Ms. Barineau," he said. "In fact it was a speech I was reluctant to give. It's not easy letting the entire Ministry know there are now under close inspection for a time. I imagine it will not set well with many... innocent or guilty." He then eyed his assistant, a bit put off by her cheerful demeanor after such a sobering speech. "Is that all you've come in for, to compliment my speech?"
