PATRONUS: N/A ABILITIES: N/A PERSONALITY: -Quiet, gentle, contemplative, energetic (in the kitchen), shy, loving, helpful, goofy, strong, and a good listener. -He is very loyal and protective of his younger sister. -His parents are some of his best friends and have always been supportive and kind to him, this relationship has given Friedrich a fierce desire to be the best possible parent he can be, hence his interest in working at an orphanage. PETS: A brown lab called Carsen HISTORY: Friedrichs parents met at their German wizarding school and started dating in their sixth year. His mother took up a career managing a small sweets shop in Germany, while his father took up a career in Quidditch. The two dated for five years before moving in together, and a few years later gave birth to their first child, Friedrich. To this day they still aren’t married, which doesn’t bother Friedrich at all because it’s all he’s ever known. His parents haven’t made it clear why they aren’t married, but it doesn’t really matter to Friedrich because they are deeply in love nonetheless. Unlike his parents, however, Friedrich thinks marriage is an important part of a romantic relationship, at least for himself. The years leading up to his parents discovery of their son being a squib where rough ones. His parents would try to throw things at him to get him to do magic but nothing ever worked. They never went as far as to cause him harm though, they weren’t that crazy. They’d just bump a vase with their elbow or hand him a broomstick and see if it’d life off. Eventually they just decided that he was a late bloomer, being non-magical didn’t even cross their mind. When he turned twelve, the time when his letter inviting him to their alma mater, came and went there were a few tears shed. Friedrichs parents were kind, however, and understanding. Plus, his younger sister, who was eight at the time, had shown immense signs of magic. They were happy with one magical child, but would have preferred two, of course. But they never took it out on him. Soon Friedrichs parents decided to homeschool him. They didn’t want him to have to pretend to be a muggle at a muggle school and refrain from telling the truth about his family. He was so young that they didn’t want him to have to carry that burden. Homeschooling was fun for Friedrich, considering his parents and sister were really his closest friends. He had four years with his sister at home until she was sent to Wizarding School. The books and things she came home to show him were fun, but Friedrich had recently starting working with his mother in the pastry shop, and fell in love with baking. Friedrich grew up not really having a problem with being non-magical. Sure, it was a lot more convenient, but he never really cared. Friedrich was a sweet and gentle boy, who didn’t complain. The only reason that not being a wizard meant anything to him was the fear it caused his parents and the bullying it caused his sister at school. He often received letters of his sister telling him not to worry about her, people were stupid anyway. Friedrich always felt badly about that, and is fiercely protective of her when she is not at school. Through the years Friedrichs parents taught him little tricks and gave him things to use magic a little when he wanted, but he usually only uses those tricks in the kitchen to make his food and pastries look pretty and fancy before he serves them. Magic is more for fun and being goofy than it is for necessity with him. He is too calm and laid-back to worry about using magic all the time. When he was old enough to attend high school he told his parents he wanted to attend public muggle school. Homeschool was great, but he wanted to start getting out in the world and getting to know himself in a social setting. He found he was shy and contemplative and didn’t get out much, but he was still glad he made the decision to go. Being shy was to his advantage because it caused him to not invite people over to his wizarding household. After he graduated High School, Friedrich decided to go to a Culinary Arts School in London. Learning ot be a cook as a muggle first and foremost has made him even better at it in the wizarding world. He cooks all natural before adding what magic touches he feels will be necessary to make the meal more exciting. After graduating at age 22, he stayed in London because his sister had just graduated and moved to London to pursue her own career. The two became roommates and have lived together ever since. About five years later, after working as a muggle chef, he saw a position open at The Second Treasures Orphanage and applied for the job. He stepped into the interview with the owner, OPHELIA JADE O'HARE, and instantly thought she was one of the most beautiful people he had ever seen. He fell in love almost instantly but has said nothing, even up to this moment a year later. He loves his job because he gets to make fancy cakes for the orphan’s birthdays and can be a positive influence in their lives. He gets to witness magic every day but also teach the kids about muggle things. Several of the orphans love to help him in the kitchen and watch him cook without magic.
