Yoon-Suk Seok
ORIGINAL:
AGE: Fourteen
FACE CLAIM: Yamada Ryosuke and Maki Horikita
YEAR: Fourth
HOUSE: Ravenclaw
OCCUPATION: N/A
BLOOD TYPE: Muggle-born
WAND TYPE: Yoon's wand is made from the wood of a Cherry Blossom tree. It's core is a tail from a Kumiho, a Korean fox beast who has the ability to shape shift into a girl, giving it the ability to shift the user in an attractive young girl as long as it is on their person. The shape shifting effects of the wand last for one hour after it has been removed from the person. Anyone who takes a hold of the wand would turn into a female as well; however the process takes one hour to be completed. The wand, obviously, is best suited for transformation spells, but is very aggressive in its nature. Yoon's wand backfires constantly and can be described as "A wild wand that is difficult to control." It is approximately sixteen inches in length, however, it has the odd tendency to stretch and shrink up to four inches, giving it a rather springy and stretchy quality.

LIKES:
DISLIKES:
BIGGEST FEAR: Dark Wizards
PERSONALITY:
Yoon-Suk is a very emotional young man. His fears and doubts are typically painted over his face, no matter what gender he is currently portraying. His inability to lie makes his position much more difficult as he often comes across as a shy stuttering mess of a girl. His conscious hangs very heavily at the thought of deceiving his classmates, however, his rationality pushes him to accept the truth of having to lie. His honest and naive nature is being strained under the false life he is required to put up for his and his family's protection.
-Paranoid Seer
His ability as a seer has, in his mind, tainted Yoon-Suk's life. The problems and troubles caused by the ability have given way to a young man who holds a self loathing of sorts toward himself and his ability. He realizes his ability has made him who he is today, and he despises that. After his ability was discovered as a child, adults and school teachers saw him as a seer, not as a child or a student. As one of the few functioning seers in his school, Yoon-Suk was often approached by teachers for assistance. However, due to his lack of control, the teachers often left bitter at the boy. There was no room for failure at his school, and while his grades were well off, his divination was a messy failure. Rumors of his ability as a seer being false were constantly spread throughout the school, leading to paranoia of others to be imbedded into Yoon-Suk.
-Meek Kindness
Yoon-Suk is often seen being scolded by teachers and what not for being too kind to others. His kind nature often crosses into the territory of meek, and he’s often stepped on by other students. Yoon-Suk has a difficult time saying no to various things. This often leads to him being taken advantage of by his fellow students.
-Brave Coward
This boy is not the bravest person in the world. In fact, he’d rather run away than face most of his problems. However, he does have a strong moral code, given to him by his parents. So, while he may be terrified, Yoon-Suk will almost always do the right thing, even if he ends up passing out from fear.
-Forgetful Tomboy
As a girl, Yoon-Suk is clearly very odd. Being raised male and only recently being forced into a female identity, he often comes across as a tomboy of sorts. He often forgets to close his legs when he sits, a problem solved by black tights, and there have been times where he's walked into the men's restroom. Yoon-Suk has so far been able to excuse this to a language barrier of sorts. Many believe him typically as his manner of speech is very rough. Growing up in Japan, his English is very rough. Thus, he speaks Engrish fluently.

HISTORY:
Yoon-Suk was born in a lower middle class family in Osaka, Japan. His parents had no special qualities aside from being warm and loving people. He was their only child. The family lived in a slightly larger than normal apartment in the downtown area. His father was a notable salesman at a local insurance agency, and his mother was a school teacher at the Elementary school down the street. Because his parent's both worked, up until school started, Yoon-Suk spent the day with his grandmother. He still saw his parents plenty in the afternoons though. After preschool started he saw less of his grandmother and attended classes during the day.
At the age of six odd things began to happen. Yoon-Suk would know where to be for various things. If his mother tripped and send a vase flying, he'd somehow be standing there to catch it. The same applied for school. When a girl was about to fall, he'd be there to catch her or help pick up her books. His most astonishing display of magic happened later that year. His parents and him were in the kitchen, enjoying breakfast, when Yoon-Suk spoke softly. "The sugar is going to spill." What an odd thing for a six year old to say! No one was even near the sugar bowl that rested in the center of the table. However, then, not even five minutes after he said those words, the house shook and rumbled as an earthquake began. The quake lasted less than two minutes. The family had all ducked under the table, and when it stopped, Yoon-Suk's parents looked up. Their faces stared in confusion as nothing had been damaged... nothing but the sugar bowl. It laid on it's side, cracked and broken. Sugar had spilled and was falling over the table softly. Yoon-Suk was laying on the floor picking at the ever growing pile of sugar innocently.
For the next two years, odd things continued to happen. It got to the point that when the strange man knocked on their door shortly before the school year started to tell them that their son was a Wizard, it wasn't a big surprise. They had witnessed the oddity that was their son for years, and they both had accepted it. As the representative spoke, they nodded in silence. The family was told that their child would be leaving to the Japanese Wizarding school that year. The thought of their son going to a boarding school so far away frightened them some, but they knew it would be best for their child. So, with heavy hearts, the family began preparations for their son's new school. The first thing they needed to do was visit the shopping area for Wizards and Witches in Osaka.
The staff member from the school lead the three to a strange back alley in the dead of night where he pushed them through a wall. Once they were through, the family was standing on a floating platform. The shopping area was a giant floating market with lanterns lit everywhere! To add to the scene, countless wizards, witches and children were walking on the water. Before the family stepped off the platform, the man shook his head. He handed Yoon-Suk's parents house slippers, saying they wouldn't be able to walk due to their blood. Then, he stepped off the platform and walked over the water toward the shops. Yoon-Suk's parents put the slippers on carefully then stepped off, each holding one of their child's hands. After the nerve wrecking first step, shopping in the Wizard distract went smoothly. Yoon-Suk and his family got dirty stares, but they managed to survive the trip.
The next day Yoon-Suk bid farewell to his family and boarded a midnight black bullet train to his new school deep in the Japanese countryside. At his new school, he found himself at home. The school was strange, nothing at all like what he had grown up with, but his strange abilities weren't so strange at this school. However, after a few months at this magical new school, Yoon-Suk was called into the headmaster's office. His abilities seemed different than that of the other students. So, Yoon-Suk was tested by the old woman. By the end of the hour long interview and exam, it was determined Yoon-Suk was a seer. He was given an extra one on one class to be tutored by a special professor who was nearly a seer. The other students all thought it was extremely cool, and they asked him to predict things often. Yoon-Suk's control over his ability was nearly nonexistent, so only a few of the predictions came true. This lead to his classmates constantly changing his opinion about whether or not his ability was real. His teachers even seemed to join in on the insanity.
By his third year, at age 13, the entire school was constantly filled with debates about whether or not his abilities were the real deal. There were so many rumors about what a real seer was like, but since they were so rare, no one really knew, at least, not the students. Yoon-Suk's days were spent listening to people explain to him why his abilities were either real or not, and his nights were spent having terrible nightmares about a fox like demon eating him. One day, after his classes, the headmaster approached Yoon-Suk. She took him to her office and asked for his assistance. Someone had set a monster loose around the school grounds. So far, the headmaster and the staff had managed to keep the attacks on students hidden, but they were getting more and more frequent and closer to the school. Soon enough, the attacks would occur so often and much closer to the school that it would be impossible to hide. They needed Yoon-Suk to help them.
Yoon-Suk didn't know what to say. The teachers had hidden to well that he hadn't even known such a thing was going on. The headmaster told him to think about it and tell her if he saw anything. He want to his dorm and sat in silence as he thought for a few moments. As he rested, his eyes closed softly. Then, Yoon-Suk was filled with terror. He shot up, looking around the room. There was something in there with him. Suddenly, a scream rang out through the boy's dormitory. Within seconds, all the boys were outside of the dorms. On the border of the forest that circled the school, a girl's body laid, soaked in red. She was a student. Yoon-Suk stared in horror. The teacher's had been right, it was getting closer and closer. The boy's dormitory was on the outskirts of the school. Soon the attacks would be happening in the heart of the school. After the teacher's ushered all the boys back to their dorms, Yoon-Suk fell into a deep sleep. He dreamt of being eaten by a fox again.
The news of the attacked girl spread quickly throughout the school. Within his class, one of the girl's asked softly, "Why didn't Yoon-Suk know she was going to be attacked?" Then, everyone stared at him. Soon, people were questioning him, asking if he really did know she would have been attacked. Then, one girl, the girl who asked the first question, asked "Did you know she would get eaten?" It was that statement that made it all suddenly click together in Yoon-Suk's head. His dreams! They were of that! A fox of some sorts was attacking the school! He held off on telling the headmaster just yet, not thinking it was detailed enough. After all, foxes weren't that big. There was no way they could kill a girl!
Over the next week, his nightmares got more and more violent. There was a man in them now as well. Every night his face got clearer and clearer. However, his face was a horrific view. It was covered in scars. He was a man from China, maybe Korea, and the fox beast followed his orders. Every night Yoon-Suk was chased through the forest in his dreams, and every night the fox caught him and ate him. Some nights he woke up screaming, much to the dismay of his roommates, and other nights, he woke up gasping for air. Finally, he decided to tell the headmaster.
As he explained the beast from his dreams, she nodded, narrowing it down to two possible beasts. A Kitsune or a Kumiho. Then, she went on to say even more troubling news. The man he had described was a dark wizard who specialized in beast training. Given the violent nature of the attacks, the beast was most likely a Kumiho being controlled by the man. What worried her however was that since the first attack near the boy's dormitory, a protective barrier had been placed up around the school, yet attacks were still occurring. The beast was inside the school, but when they checked the map of the school, neither the man's nor the beast's name came up. The headmaster told Yoon-Suk to go back to his dorm and think about it.
For two weeks the attacks continued occurring. The only difference was that this time, they were getting closer and closer to Yoon-Suk instead of the heart of the school. One night, a roommate of his disappeared. He was found a day later in the school's walkway, attacked and bloodied. Yoon-Suk didn't sleep that night. His roommates were all equally freaked out. They all spoke about how terrifying it was that they could all be attacked without a moment's notice. Yoon-Suk nodded softly, saying the aspect of being eaten was terrified. Just then, one of his roommates questioned him. How did he know they were eaten? The students had only been told they were attacked. Once more, it all clicked in his head. That girl! She... She had something to do with this! He ran from his room, not taking into account that it was night. He had to tell the headmaster!
While running through the school, he heard it. There was something chasing him. Yoon-Suk continued running, hoping to get to the headmaster before the monster got to him. As he turned a corner, he came face to face with the girl from his classroom. Now that he thought about it.. He hadn't seen her before that day. Her appearance was so plain. She was pretty, but she was also like a flower against a wall, unnoticeable. She was grinning at him, and suddenly, Yoon-Suk felt a hand on his shoulder. He froze in terror as he turned and saw the scarred man staring down at him. Before Yoon-Suk could scream, a hand was waved in his direction and everything went black.
When he woke up, he was bound to a chair. The man was sitting off to the side, smoking a cigarette and the girl was pacing around in the corner of the room. She was muttering and complaining about "wanting to eat this one." The man would then say "No, he's too valuable. You know what muggle corporations would pay for someone who can predict the stock market." Yoon-Suk understood it all now. They had heard rumors of a seer attending classes at this school, so they came to make money off of his ability. When the two noticed Yoon-Suk was awake, the girl grinned, her fox like features becoming evident. She was a Kumiho.
As the girl walked closer to him, she asked the man if Yoon-Suk would still be valuable without legs. Terror filled his mind as he watched her slowly go from girl to a monstrous fox. Before she got near him, a nearby door flew open. The headmaster walked in calmly as teacher's flooded in from all around. They quickly grabbed the man, then killed the beast. As the man was walked out, he screamed that mud-bloods were made to serve pureblood such as himself. The boy was only a tool! Yoon-Suk was untied and taken to the headmaster's office where everything was explained. He had been bait. The man had wanted to use the Kumiho to kidnap Yoon-Suk to use his gift to make a fortune in the muggle world, however, due to the extremely aggressive nature of the beast, it required constant feeding. They had been keeping a close eye on Yoon-Suk, hoping to lure the man out and also help develop his abilities as a seer. It was a win win situation... Well except for Yoon-Suk who was still terrified out of his mind.
To compensate for the trauma, Yoon-Suk was allowed to go back home for a week to recover. His mother was ecstatic to see her son again, and his father was worried about the events at the school. During his stay at home, their apartment was broken into. On the door to Yoon-Suk's room, burned into the door, a message was left. "Your muddy blood belongs to us." When the school heard of the break in, they became silent. On the last day of his week at home, the headmaster appeared at his home. She had a look of grave importance on her face. After further investigation, she had discovered the man they arrested was part of a much larger dark wizard group. Not only part of, but one of the leaders of it as well.
Somehow, the word of Yoon-Suk's part in getting him arrested had spread. The blame for their leader's arrest was placed on the boy's ability, and thus, he was to be captured. Being captured meant he was to be brought in alive by the dark wizards. Because of this, it became much more of a problem. His parent's were convenient bargaining chips for this, and their lives were now in danger. To solve the problem, the headmaster suggested an identity protection service of sorts. Yoon-Suk would be transferred as a different student to a school all the way across the world, and his death would be faked so his parents could live peacefully. Yoon-Suk agreed to it, not wanting to cause his parents trouble. Although they were troubled by the arrangement, Yoon-Suk soon had the forms filled out to transfer to Hogwarts in the middle of the school year after a car accident was faked. He was given a wand made from the very Kumiho that had terrorized him's tail to hide his identity. The wand was to remain on his person at all times. The dark wizards were a large group, and as a mud-blood, he wasn't anything close to human to them.
So, Yoon-Suk was sent across the world to Hogwarts as the female exchange student Yoon-Suk Seok. While the names may seem similar, in Japan, Yoon-Suk had used his father’s last name, and his name had been spelled in Japanese characters. Now his name is spelled in Korean character, changing their meaning completely.
