Meet Miss Andalasia Rose McKay. Andalasia is often referred to as Andy or Alasia by her family members. Although when she is in trouble her mother does refer to her by her full name, which is quite often since Alasia has a bit of a disregard for her mother and her regulations. Alasia was born on October Thirty-First; Halloween. A day which her family celebrates religiously for you see, Alasia's family is not like most normal Muggles. Alasia's family studies what is known as Wicca. Wicca is a very peaceful, harmonious and balanced way of life which promotes oneness with the divine and all which exists. A sort of balance with the nature and elements that surrounds one in everyday life. Andalasia grew up on these ways at a very young age along with her brother and sister. So when the letter from Hogwarts had appeared for her one day, her family was welcoming to the idea of her being something more than a Wiccan raised witch. Her first trip to Diagon Alley resulted in her acquiring a wand made out of maple wood with a rare Aurgrey Tailfeather as its core. The wand itself had a length of eleven and one-third inches.
Alasia is most noted for her appearance that is almost mirror to that of her mother when she was a teen. Alasia has long dark brown hair that falls just about to the middle of her back when straight. Her eyes; which are about the only item that she had acquired from her father are a blue-gray. Alasia stands at a height of five foot five inches and weights about one hundred and twenty pounds. She has a pretty slim built with her measurements being around 34-22-32. Alasia does have a few body piercings and a few tattoos. The piercings on her body include her ear lobes, her upper left ear, and her navel button. Several of these piercings she does not wear during Hogwart lectures as to avoid complications of it getting dirty, stuck on, or pulled out on accident. As for the tattoos, she has several scattered throughout her body. She has one on her right shoulder, one on the inside of her ankle, and one on her left wrist. As one can begin to guess, Alasia has a bit of a wild and rebellious streak in her hence the reason her mother is often calling her by her full name.
Andalasia is one of those girls that is constantly going through clothes as they come in and out of style. She has outfits in her closet that she has either only worn once or has not worn at all. She enjoys keeping up with all the various fashion fads throughout Europe, Asia, and America. However, she is not one to spend a ton of money on just one fashionable item. She tries to find similar pieces that are less pricey but still hold the same affect as the more expensive piece. She enjoys just about any type of clothing except jumpers, over-alls, and bermuda shorts.
Overall, Andalasia is highly out-going. She enjoys being included into conversations and stirring up some trouble. She has performed a few pranks here and there. She is never one to have a dull moment when she is around others. She is fiercely independent and hates to rely on somebody. She has a decent level of intelligence since she is a Ravenclaw. She does have her short-comings though too. She has been known to be sarcastic and fairly temperamental when her day is going bad. She tries to keep her attitude in check but does lash out at people when they keep hitting the wrong buttons over and over again.
Life at Hogwarts for Andalasia is filled with a list of activities and adventures. She is a member of several clubs at Hogwarts and holds a fairly active social life. On one side, she enjoys hanging with her girlfriends and gossiping and on the other side she enjoys getting down and dirty with her guy-friends. She is not fairly known for her flirting, but she has already made it fact back in sixth year that she swings both ways. So be prepared for some flattery compliments from Alasia if she finds you to be attractive.
Andalasia's family as stated before practices what is known as Wicca or Element based magick. Her mother; Serena had grown up with this religion since she was a girl herself. In fact, her entire mother's side of the family practices Wicca. However, there are those few black sheeps on her mother's side of the family that have deviated from Wicca and wondered into Black Magic. Those family members are not welcomed within the family circle and it has been made clear on several occasions. Her father; Devon essentially grew up with no set religion in his family. Her father's entire side of the family do believe that their are various higher powers, but they don't divulge into any set one. They just welcome all views with open arms. However in the past few years her father Devon has become more inversed with the Wiccan ways.
Alasia has two siblings; Mateo who is the eldest of the McKay children and Galleria who is the youngest of the McKay children. That of course would leave Andalasia as the middle child in her family. Mateo is three years older than Alasia while Galleria is five years younger than Alasia. Both of her siblings are also apart of the Family Circle. Plus, they are the two that had convinced their parents to get a Spectacled Owl as a family pet when Alasia had bought her Barred Owl for Hogwarts her first year. Alasia has a strong relationship bond with both of her siblings and is always showing them something new that she has learned from her days at Hogwarts. Apart from the two owls that the family has, the McKay family has two Bengal cats that serve as Wiccan familiars for Alasia's mother Serena and younger sister Galleria. As of right now Alasia does not yet have a Wiccan familiar like her mother and sister. Her Barred Owl serves as her main animal companion at Hogwarts and for the moment, but Alasia knows that one day she will come into contact with her Wiccan familiar when it is time.
Growing up as a McKay was truly an experience as her mother's entire side of the family practiced Wicca. From a young age, Alasia was taught to respect nature and all of its elements. She had been coursed in the ways of tarot cards, dream interpretation, runes, the healing power of gems and crystals, Astrology, Herbs, and a few other things along the way. But like any other child, Alasia was set on being something more than what her family had wanted.
At the age of six, her parents had began to notice that their middle child had quite the knack for being independent, rebellious, and mischievous. She has given her parents a few good scares resulting in her being punished for a few weeks. Of course, both sets of grandparents encouraged her free-spirited behavior as a way get back at her parents for their rebellious childhoods. When she had turned nine, it was apparent to her family that there were some other strange occurrences surrounding Alasia that were outside the norm for a Wiccan raised child. Her mother's side of the family were constantly on alert and trying to find any reasonable explanation for Alasia unique gift.
It was when Alasia had gotten her letter from Hogwarts and a visit from one of its Professors that everything had started to make sense. Alasia was not just a Wiccan raised Witch, but a true Muggleborn Witch in the hidden Wizarding World. Needless to say, her family was ecstatic at this news even if Alasia at the time was not. Her first few years at Hogwarts had been rough on the young Wiccan as she was truly out of her norm. Everything that she had seemed to learn from her family at a young age had gotten turned upside down. She struggled with concepts such as Transfiguration and Defense Against the Dark Arts while excelling in concepts such as Charms, Herbology, and Divination.
It wasn't until her fifth year at Hogwarts that Alasia had finally gained her bearings as a Witch in all three of her worlds. It was refreshing to have her finally understand where she stood in the Wizarding World, the Muggle World, and in the Wiccan World. During her sixth year at Hogwarts, Alasia came out and told her friends that she was bi-sexual. From there she proceeded to have a few affairs here and there, but nothing too serious. Twas more of an experimental study then anything that year. Now, Andalasia is in her final year at Hogwarts and she is ready to have it go out with a bang.
