The Meagher family is a line of old magic, stringing from a family of purebloods who are also well known as blood traitors in Ireland. The family was long in magic but had a long history of marrying muggles. They were not one of the families who wanted to keep the blood in the family. The line was large but consisted of mostly daughters so the name was slowly dying. The name Rowyn was passed onto the first born males unto their first born males. Rowyn Lennox had met Teagan, a muggle woman in the town of Athy in southwest Ireland. It was a market town with an population of about ten thousand people in it. Rowyn lived on the outskirts in a home he'd moved in after leaving Hogwarts himself. He met Teagan O'Dwyer a young woman whose family ran the local grocer in town. He really liked the girl and would come in just to come talk to her. It took him nearly four months just to get her to go on a date with him. Luckily for the young man they made a lovely couple. It was after they married he told her that he was a wizard from a large wizarding family. She promised to keep it a secret and she was deeply in love with this strange man. After a year of being married they gave birth to a boy and naturally named him Rowyn as well. Teagan liked the name Devin so that became his middle name. The little boy was born with dark brown hair and, as his mother said, a face of an angel.
The boy grew up a pretty normal childhood and knew all about the wizarding world but also learned much of the muggle world. He was home schooled by his mother but was immersed into football teams and learned how to jump horses as a child and wasn't half bad at it. His parents wanted him to learn what they knew but still have the freedom of a social life. Childhood really was good, during the days he spent time with his mother managing her family's grocer and learning from books. It was like the worlds greatest adventure when he was a child. His parents had two more children when Rowyn was five years old. Twin girls, Alaine and Ainslie, those two were extremely close. And Rowyn had the natural overprotective brother stance when it came to anything the twin girls did.
As a toddler and a child there was something though a little off about Rowyn. He could be found muttering nonsense to the family cat and really any cat that he came across. One time at the zoo even he was found muttering to one of the lions. His father knew that communication with animals ran in the family, but it had been a long time since one had been born into the family, before canines had been a popular communication animal in the Meagher family. Rowyn loved any cat he met and made friends with them well and learned what they wanted.
The summer after he turned eleven he got a letter to go to Hogwarts. The school that he'd always wanted to go to. His father had been a Hufflepuff and he was hoping for something similar. Diagon Alley wasn't a strange place for him, they'd been there numerous occasions for some shopping that his dad needed. His dad worked for the Ministry of Magic in the regulation of magical creatures division and he liked to work a lot with creatures as a general rule. He was excited though to get his uniforms and everything for school. He got a small female Russian Blue kitten that he had named Mackey and he grew close to the cat.
He got on the Hogwarts Express and found a semi-empty compartment that had a few young students in as well. He made friends with them and soon they were at Hogwarts. The castle was absolutely magnificent and he ended up being sorted to Gryffindor. It was well known as the house for the brave, maybe the adventurous. The latter was what he could qualify himself as. He was excited and he got a letter a few days later from his father telling him that he was proud.
He'd worked hard in his classes but always found himself getting more interested in things that didn't matter for the grades. He excelled in classes that were hands on, maybe with the exception of potions, it was too complicated for him. He wanted to work with dragons though, that was the ultimate plan. He enjoyed Charms and Transfiguration. And then third year came, he could take Care of Magical Creatures which seemed to be the only thing that ultimately mattered to him. He never started playing Quidditch or anything, never seemed like much fun. His fifth year came and he took his O.W.L.s and he got passing marks in all his magic classes, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Charms, Transfiguration, Care of Magical Creatures and Study of Ancient Runes, all the classes he went on to study in his N.E.W.T.s. He'd passed Potions and Herbology but just barely and not enough to continue into N.E.W.T.s
Now in his seventh year he's applied to work with Dragon beginning next year and has also had the back up of working at the Ministry with his father. He wouldn't have minded being a healer but he didn't get the right marks in the right classes to continue with that. He was excited though to get out of school and get on with his life. So very excited.
