LIKES:
The smell of rain – Scarlett has been known to sit outside during a rainstorm.
The Ocean – Fairly self-explanatory. A fisherman father and growing up on the sea makes it her safe place.
Chocolate pudding – Her favorite, has been known to sneak it for breakfast on occasion.
Getting dirty – A little dirt never hurt anyone! First in the mud put would be Scarlett.
Sketching/Painting/Drawing - Loves to paint and sketch in her free time. Keeps a set of acrylics under her bed for when she’s feeling stuck with schoolwork. Sometimes a quick painting helps her sort through things.
Faces – Scarlett makes faces a lot. It stems from her sense of humor. She crinkles her nose quite a bit, especially when she doesn’t like something or doesn’t understand. Also drives her mother mad, which is why she hasn’t stopped making them.
Quidditch – She may not be the biggest on a broom, but once Scarlett got a hang of flying a few years ago, it’s very hard to keep her off of one now. Scarlett's been too afraid to try out for her house team for fear of making a fool of herself. But if you need a Chaser for a pick-up game, she’s your girl.
DISLIKES:
Being Prim and Proper – Scarlett enjoys getting dressed up like the next girl, but she’s never been one to primp and fluff and dress to extremes. Stems from growing up surrounded by boys.
Land – Being stuck on land for too long. Even if it’s just to be by the lake for the afternoon, its something.
Her mother - They butt heads over just about everything (see below).
Bananas – She can’t stand the smell or the taste of them. Dorian used to sneak them into her food as a joke.
Shoes – Again, probably something from being on the sea for so long, Scarlett hates her feet being covered. The second classes are done and she’s in the Tower, her shoes are off and her feet are bare. Even in the winter. Especially in the winter.
Odd Smells – Scarlett has a keen nose on her. She has to smell everything. Scarlett HAS to smell any bite of food before she eats it, even if it’s something she’s had countless times before.
BIGGEST FEAR: Drowning. As much as Scarlett loves the ocean and the open sea, she is deathly afraid of drowning. She almost drowned when she was nine, and ever since then won’t wade in water higher than her chest. Scarlett doesn't swim.
PERSONALITY:
(Over) Active Imagination – She tends to see something, and within five minutes it’s turned into something else within her head. Her brother thinks she should write, considering how quick she can be with a story. She doesn’t think her writing is any good though.
Slightly Emotional - Girl has no poker face. If she’s happy, she’s beaming. If she’s sad, you can practically see the little rain cloud over her head. Fancies you? Watch out. She'll turn as red as her name.
Quick Mouth – Scarlett has an answer for everything, which can be a good thing, or a bad thing. She speaks her mind. Has come back to bite her in the bum. Hasn't learned. Smart girl, but hasn't learned.
Interesting People Skills - Living on the water for long periods of time with no one else to talk to other than your brothers or your father makes it hard to make friends on dry land. Goes back to not having a filter. It's swimming around in the Atlantic Ocean somewhere.
Trusting (Sometimes to a Fault) - Scarlett has a good heart, regardless of the tough exterior she portrays to those who don’t know her well. She appreciates respect, and is happy to give it in return if you've earned it with her.
Animal Affinity - Scarlett's mother was the first to notice this little quirk; she would often find her daughter out in the backyard garden surrounded by the entire neighborhood's feline population. Her mother blames it on her father's Romani heritage, saying there was nothing 'out of the ordinary' about her family when it came to animals.
During these 'catmoots' in the backyard, there was never any talk between the two sets of species, just a quiet sort of understanding and mutual respect. (That coming from a six year old instead of tugging on a tail or an ear was probably a welcome change!) It had always been something that was natural for the girl; she couldn't understand at first why she was the only one in the entire family who didn't get swatted at by their grandmother's ancient tabby cat.
As she got older and her relationships with her mother and older brother soured on top of her father being less and less around, she took comfort in having a furred friend to turn to. Her family's cat doubles as her faithful shadow, and Grey is her constant companion at school. She feels like she can tell a lot about a person by how they treat an animal.
She feels sometimes - even though she knows they can't understand a word she says - she's had more intelligent conversations with the owls in the Owlery than with some fellow students.

MOTHER: Cressida (Everton) Elleridge – Born into a well-to-do magical family with a history in Slytherin, and unfortunately as far as Scarlett sees it, a history in dark magic. Cressida was in Slytherin (of course), and her relationship and subsequent marriage to the muggle born Roman was a bit of a scandal back home for her.
FATHER: Roman Elleridge – Comes from a seafaring family from Liverpool by way of Romania. Roman grew up on the waters of the Mediterranean and Atlantic Oceans, spending most of his time before heading to Hogwarts on his family’s fishing ships. He is muggle-born. He was sorted into Gryffindor, and met his future wife Cressida in his sixth year.
SIBLINGS:
Brother: Dorian Elleridge– Scarlett's eldest brother, Slytherin graduate 3 years earlier. He seems to have missed out on his father’s strong work ethic. He tends to be a bit lazy, currently still living at home with their mother, taking up room on the couch as he waits for a job. Dorian and Scarlett don’t get on much, especially with it being clear that Dorian is their mother’s favorite.
Brother: Cian Elleridge– Cian is the middle child. He always made a point to include Scarlett in things. He and Scarlett share a fondness for art type things, and he is currently living abroad in Paris trying to make it as an artist. He was sorted into Gryffindor like his father, and graduated just last year.
HISTORY: Scarlett was born December 14th ( making her a Sagittarius ) and raised outside of Liverpool, England as the only daughter and last child of Roman and Cressida Elleridge. She's the first Elleridge daughter in four generations. The Elleridges are famous for producing boys. Needless to say, a bouncing baby girl was quite the surprise. A welcome one for her father who had always wanted a girl, and a big pain in the neck for her mother.
She was raised along with her older brothers Cian and Dorian, both of whom attended Hogwarts. Dorian is still at home, but Cian left before Scarlett 's sixth year to pursue his artistic abilities in France much to the disappointment of her mother. She's really not allowed to talk about him in front of the woman, as he's seen as sort of the bad seed of the family.
However, the two remain close, with Cian sending Scarlett packages or letters every now and then with little paintings and sketches in them. Of course, her mother doesn't approve, saying that an artist is not a proper career choice for her. Scarlett 's mother would rather she got married into a prominent arrangement and started a family after graduation. It’s a 'do as I say, not as I do' situation, since Scarlett likes to point out the fact that her own father is not a pureblood, or even a half-blood.
Scarlett is closest with her father, but his profession makes that more and more difficult now that Scarlett is away at school for most of the year. They stay in touch with owls, but it’s not the same for her. Roman likes to joke that Scarlett must be part mermaid the way she loves the ocean. Other than the whole leading people to their death thing, Scarlett likes to agree.
Her relationship with her mother is quite strained on a good day, insufferable on a poor one. Her mother wants nothing more than her only daughter ( a daughter mind you she was none too thrilled about having in the first place ) to follow in her footsteps and the footsteps of her oldest son Dorian. Scarlett and Cressida or 'Sissy' as the girl lovingly calls her behind her back, are complete and total opposites on most things. Scarlett above all else (maybe even more than drowning) is afraid of becoming her mother. Makes for some interesting dinner table conversations on the holidays. Puddings have been tossed.
