BIGGEST FEAR: Not knowing what the fate of his family and friends could be if this attack happens again
PERSONALITY:
Teaser - While he has to remain somewhat professional considering he is a role model for those younger than him, he is very much a teaser and at times, a giant kid. It is never above him to play a prank on his students. Students play back on him. It's a war he doesn't look at the way others may. If there isn't a little insult between friends, what kind of friendship does one have, really? Excessive is never okay, but a little play with work never hurt anyone. Especially since he knows that everyone doesn't enjoy history as much as he does (for whatever strange obscure reason)
Protective - Understatement. Even from a young age, he always thought of himself of somewhat the father of the family. His dad was constantly working and away. His mother tried her best, but what else could she do with that many kids? The money was low. It was up to Marvin to watch out after everyone when they went out and played in the grass. Like any good older brother, he is fiercely protective of his friends and family.
Family man - With that in mind, he has always been a family. It's unpopular to have someone enjoy the company of their family, but not for Marvin. Another reason he picked a professor was so he was able to be closer to the few left in school. He really wants a family of his own- he thought he'd at least have a girl by now. He's had practice at dad long enough, and even one of his dear friends has a kid he sees all the time. Marvin is not ashamed to say he wants his own now
Strong - Physically and emotionally. He wouldn't be able to get anything done if he let his emotions run him down. He is very good at a hard face and staying relatively calm. The trick is to focus on something else. Very often, you will find him finding a distraction that suites him for the time. Stay strong. For the sake of others and himself
Rational - Maybe its being a professor, but he's very good at coming up with a rational conclusion even if he has zero experience. It's all what makes sense. For that reason, others might go to him for advice a couple of times. Even if he has no idea what one could do, he comes up with the most rational solution possible. Unfortunately, those aren't always the easiest or the most doable.
Fearless - His biggest motivation is when someone says 'you can't do that'. It makes him accept the challenge blindly and go for whatever goal he wants. He can do anything. Marvin has a lot of pride within him. Damaging that wouldn't be very wise. What can he do though except to prove everyone wrong? Even if he had no desire in the first place. He is the type to lay his life down for someone, and he expects this same bravery among the people he surrounds himself with.
Loyal - Goes without being said, the guy is extremely loyal. He changes his mind a lot, but people- he forgives quickly and stays by one's side no matter what stupid frustrating situation they just landed in.
Indecisive - He hates making decisions. He'd rather someone else tell him what to do, and Marvin be a good little solider and do it blindly. He is a loyal puppy. But having other's fates in his hands always made him weary. Gryffindor was suppose to raise and create leaders. If he were in that position, he could, but if he had the choice, he would rather not.
Learner - Knowledge is power? Marvin thinks so. One of the things that dictated his decision to become a professor (a choice that was very recent relatively speaking) is how much he liked to learn things. They were usually so interesting. He likes having intelligent conversations about topics no matter what he might have thought. Others arguing with him never really bothered him. It challenged him. Made him learn things. There are those who are criticized for being 'wishy washy' but why should someone be negatively accused for figuring out a better way to do things? Changing minds are okay.

MOTHER: Gillian Lloyd
FATHER: Patrick Lloyd
SIBLINGS: From oldest to youngest:
Daniel - Graduate - 19 - Dan
Lanchester - Graduate - 18 - Lance
Chaunce - Seventh Year - 17 - Chauncey
Lyanna - Sixth Year - 16 - Ly
Colton - Fifth Year - 15 - Angel
HISTORY: Most of his history is simply directed by those he had met. He started with his family, watching them all grow up, being the oldest of six others. First there was Daniel- or Dan. Probably relatively the closest considering they grew up together the longest. They were also very much alike in personality. When Dan later was sorted into Gryffindor, Marvin never felt as proud, sitting up straighter in his seat, smiling at his brother as he joined what was obviously the best house (ravenclaw comes as a good seconds he GUESSED). Then there was Lance and Chaunce. Both coming around the same time and both having about the same crazy attitude entering Hogwarts. Those two always guaranteed that Marvin would be busy watching out for them. His dear sister- Ly- whom he probably watches out for the most. When she broke her arm, he had been on a date. He fled and left without a more explanation of 'family emergency'. One of the scariest moments of his life. And finally, there was his smallest brother, Colton. Marvin always had seen him as someone who had large future goals. Flying for professional teams. Not too common for a family like theirs (and Dan was also offered, if Marvin is not mistaken).
Growing up had been normal. The money was shorter than others, of course, but they made their own fun. All of them having sense of humor and a good sense of excitement. He watched out for them all the while, liking the feeling of being in charge. But always weary of where everyone was. When he first received his own Hogwarts letter, the boy couldn't be more shocked. It was no secret their mother had been a muggleborn witch, and it made sense the line would be passed down, but it never occured to him as much as that moment. Leaving muggle schools was a plus. Leaving his family was weird for him. He had terrible homesickness the first month or so of school. Sending owls back and forth (since phones didn't seem to be popular in the wizarding world) all the time. Eventually, he made a couple of friends who made it easier for him. The man could focus on his studies and what it meant to be a Gryffindor. Year by year, he watched as his siblings walked to the sorting hat- crossing his fingers for his same house.
The group of friends he hung out with started to show him the art of pranking and causing trouble. It was never Marvin to cause too much trouble, but man, the look on some people's faces! Shocked and disgusted! Those bullies who had been picking on him his first year were getting theirs. The thrill and excitement. There were on occasions he got caught, causing grief from his fellow housemates, but that particular lesson was never learned. Marvin did very well on his studies. No head boy or anything, but he was a prefect his seventh year. More of going through school as if it were life. Once he got out of school, he didn't know what to do with his life. He started working in the ministry, but after a while, that didn't bring much satisfaction. Little play, loads of work and professional attitude to keep it safe. Not really for him. If that weren't enough, this was around the time his parents split up. Marvin had to be the least shocked of all of his siblings. He wasn't sure if it was because he saw how they had interacted the most or if he was the only one paying attention. The rest of his siblings were in school, and they needed him now more than ever. Marvin went through great lengths to be the thread keeping his family together. Chaunce went off and lived with his father while Ly stayed with their mother. Colton started becoming depressed. Ly couldn't believe it. Chaunce was acting out in school. Dan was angrier than hell. It was Marvin who had to be the strong one. Trying to balance all of this didn't suite well with his work. He chose family, looking for another profession. A professor.
After years of training, this was the year he became the History of Magic professor. He wasn't sure what else happened to the other professor, but students got a rather interesting surprise when he walked through the door. He's tried his best to keep things professional, but Marvin always enjoys joy and laughter in his world and life. It was much better than working for the ministry. Of course, this is the year the attack at the University happened. Now Marvin is prepared to protect his family and his school to the best of his ability.
