Well. The secret was out. Sort of. Sarah had told James, Madison and Thomas and all of them had talked to her since, so she was pretty sure she wasn’t being shunned or anything because of the fact that she was a Seer. The trip to Italy itself had been an eventful one. Besides her telling both Madison and Thomas about her own secret, Thomas had told Sarah that he was getting over Madison while she had decided she wanted to kiss him as soon as he saw him. Sarah couldn’t blame her. Thomas and James being hurt had worried her more than anything too, which was why she was so glad to see Thomas in Italy; but, Sarah also felt bad for Thomas. The kiss had probably put him in a tough situation. He had nearly made up his mind to leave his romantic love for Madison in the past and then the next day, she had kissed him. Sarah hadn’t talked to Thomas about the kiss yet and she didn’t know what her friends were planning to do now, but she was interested to find out. Having no love life of her own, Sarah lived vicariously through her friends.
The girl was glad to be home from Italy, even though it was a magical, beautiful country. She was living back at home with her parents for a while, just until she was able to save enough money to find a flat for rent somewhere on her own or with a roommate. Today would be her first shift as bartender. She had been trained two days back and would (as far as she knew) be serving alone tonight. It was rather late; about 9 o’clock by the time she got the pub and clocked in. There was a nice fire blazing in the pit to the left of the bar and it sent a warm, welcoming, homey feeling down Sarah’s spine. However, she wasn’t sure how at home she felt here. James, Rose and Thomas had been attacked here. And since Thomas had brought it up in Italy, Sarah wasn’t sure how she would feel working behind the counter all night.
The young woman tied her apron around her waist and looked up as the bell over the door rang and the door swung open.

Justin walked down the streets of Diagon alley with his unspeakable cloak on, he saw no reason to take it off as he would probably be going back to work. He felt like he was so close to unlocking the secret of death that he couldn’t take a break. He knew his eyes were starting to develop bags and his hair was sure to be a mess.
The most off time he had from work was probably the two hours it took to get the tattoo that now adorned hi arm. He finally came in front of the leaky cauldron and sighed, while it was a warm night it looked like it would start raining any minute. Walking in he saw a pretty blonde girl standing in the pub alone.
“Good evening” he said sending a nod her way before taking off his work cloak to reveal normal clothes. The good thing about working in the department of mysteries was that you could wear sweatpants and nobody would care or notice.
Others wore comfortable clothes also, as they were just as work obsessed as he was…if not less. Sighing he looked around at the semi-empty pub, it was so strange not to see it full of life but it beat going back to his flat or visiting his parents. He still hadn’t told his mother exactly what he did for a living, he had to admit that her guesses were starting to get pretty extreme. SARAH JANE FINNIGAN

Sarah recognized the young man from school. He was a year or two above her, she believed and he had been in Slytherin house. Sarah was raised to not despise Slytherins, though, being a Gryffindor herself, she really couldn’t help it no matter how hard she tried to. Though, even though she had been a Gryffindor for seven years and her entire family was Gryffindors also, Sarah was at work now in the adult world, and things that used to matter a lot when she was in school now seemed so small and trivial. House order was one of them. When she was behind the bar, nothing mattered but the customer and the order.
Sarah examined her customer as he got comfortable on the bar stool. He took off a nice looking cloak and immediately got extremely more casual. He was a decently handsome man, but judging by the cloak and the over worked bags under his eyes, Sarah guessed that he worked for the Ministry in one of the major departments where no one ever got any time off. She knew that she never wanted to work for the Ministry. She couldn’t handle the pressure or the idea of having to sit behind a desk all day every day for little pay. Sure, she wasn’t going to get rich by bartending, but she was making a comfortable living for a young girl with few responsibilities. “Good Evening.” She nodded back to him. “What can I get for you tonight?” she asked him with a quick glance under the bar to make sure everything was in stock. It was. Hannah ran a tight shop, and Sarah appreciated that very much.

Justin shrugged his shoulders, he didn't really know what he wanted but his stomach told him that he should probably eat, it would be a healthy solution to his problems. Maybe if he fed himself he would be able to think more, thus finally finishing his research and her inwardly sighed. He was going to spend the rest of the night not thinking about his job, nor his research that seemed to enjoy sending him in circles. "Food wise as long as it's good i don't care but could i have a glass of fire whiskey please?" Justin vaguely remembered her from school, she was in Gryffindor house and while he had no problem with house he never really hung out with anyone from other house besides his sister. Even than that was a semi-strained relationship, he made a mental note as he thought about her to either owl her or visit her.
He still hadn't sent her graduation present and he wondered what she would be doing with her life. Not that he had a preferred choice for her, he was just curious. However if he visited Anya then a visit to their parents would be mandatory, it's not that he didn't want to visit...it's just that he was busy. he looked towards the girl and raised any eyebrow "Hows your evening been so far?" Small talk was better than silence in his opinion. SARAH JANE FINNIGAN

Sarah didn’t know how it felt to not be close with you family, and she couldn’t even being to try to process how anyone in the world wouldn’t want to hold a close relationship with their parents and their siblings. Sarah’s life would have been nothing but pain, depression and despair if it hadn’t been for her parents and Lizzie. For almost eighteen years, they had been the only ones who knew about Sarah’s visions. They had been her only source of comfort and clarity. They had been the ones she contacted for help when she needed it most. She was glad that her friends knew the truth now, but she would never give up the need for her family.
Sarah’s job wasn’t to cook. Sarah had rarely cooked in her life (unless she had been forced to help her mother in the kitchen). There was a cook who was supposed to stay in the kitchen and to Sarah’s understanding, wasn’t the most friendly sort of person (Hannah had advised her to attempt to avoid small-talk). “How does a grilled sandwich sound? The cook makes them fresh by order.” Sarah offered the young man. She was just the barmaid, so she got drinks and ran the counter. Reaching under the counter, Sarah pulled out a glass and one of the many bottle of fire whiskey that they always had in stock. She poured a sizable amount for the young man and slid the glass to him. “It’s been slow. And I don’t expect it to pick up much.” Sarah shrugged. There were a few people sitting at the bar further down. One of the asked for a refill and she walked over, poured the man another glass of fire whiskey and then returned to her previous spot in front of the younger man. “Hard day at the office?” Sarah asked.

“Thanks” Justin said with a small smile, he had sipped his drink slowly as he looked around, perhaps it was because he had only been here during busy times but he didn’t think that it had ever been that quiet or homey. He made a note to come here and eat at his time rather then during the more hectic hours, he had little patients for loud patrons who didn’t need another drink.
“That sounds lovely and wonderfully simple.” His stomach pains were enough to warn him against eating to little and also too much. He had really gotten carried away this time, perhaps he should take a break…he had a bout month of vacation time saved up and he could always research some on vacation. Plus time-off could give his brain time to recuperate and he might come up with what he was missing if he was more relaxed. Stress never helped anyone solve any problems, not to mention that everyone even healers advised workers against to much stress.
“Well, that means less work for the same price, so that’s good right?” He was unsure of how a waitress job worked. Did she get paid per costumer and on tips or did she get like a weekly salary, if it was the first one he felt kind of bad for it being slow, but if it was the latter she should be happy right. Either way he was sure that she was fresh out of school so, she was probably living with her parents or living on her own for the first time. He moved out as soon as he could…personally it was for the best though he did miss his sisters often. The most awfulest thought crossed his mind….his sister Anya would be old enough for clubs and her own apartment…and with that came boys. He shook that thought, hr was going to scar himself for eternity thinking like that. His sister was far to innocent for such things….that’s what he told himself.
“Yes, been working to way to much haven’t had much sleep or free time.” he admitted rubbing the back of his next sheepishly. He was such a dork sometimes, work work work that was all he was concerned about.

“Great.” Sarah said when the man had said that he wanted the sandwich. She had tried them herself while she was doing her training and felt very good about recommending them to the customers. She went back into the kitchen for a moment to give the order to the cook, who seemed happy to be getting some work and stood up to start prepping the food instantly. It was a rather slow night, but it was perfect for Sarah’s first shift. The girl hoped that every night was this slow for a the first little while, that way she would get used to working nice and slowly, then, by the time she decided to pick up the day shift, she’d be ready for all the hustle an bustle.
“Seems like you should take a break and relax then. Lucky for you, we are indeed slow right now and you probably won’t walk out of here with a headache due to loud customers.” She smirked when she came back out with the sandwich. She set it down in front of the man and then walked down the bar a little ways to once again, refill the cup of the lone man in the dark cloak. “I get paid by the hour.” She nodded and put the leisure back under the counter. Sarah wore a name tag, always. She had to, it was part of the job, so that customers would always know her name and that would make her easier to approach and talk to. Hannah had told her that she would soon know the names and orders of all of her regular customers, but it would probably take a few weeks, so she would have to strike up a lot of conversation by herself. “So, do you come her often?” Sarah asked, fully aware that he would probably think that she was trying to flirt with him, though, she was just being curious. She was sure she would soon find herself in a similar situation. She would have to learn to manage work and sleep and her friends. “Seems like you could use a break, then.” She suggested. “Don’t they have to give you vacation or something?” she asked.

Justin nodded as she sat down, it seemed logical to him that she would want to talk to someone on her shift. "Yeah, i have some saved up....my work is complicated." he wasn't technically allowed to talk about his job with anybody outside him working in the department of mysteries.
Sometimes he didn't even like saying that, though he supposed it was because there was no possible way for him to start a conversation about work. Unless he was supposed to talk about death which was a instant conversation killer.
"No i don't come here often, i just happened to be hungry on my way home and figured this was a good place to stop....is this your first shift?" He was just trying to strike up conversation as the thought of just randomly sitting there alone like a loser wasn't appealing to him. "I'm Justin by the way" he said offering his hand for her to shake, it was bad manners to just talk to a pretty lady without introducing oneself. SARAH JANE FINNIGAN

“Well, if the give you vacation, why not take it?” she shrugged and whipped down the counter as she spoke. “Seems to me like you could use it… but how would I know?” she continued her cleaning. Sarah knew that she had no room to speak about anyone else’s work, especially since this was her first night at work and she had it pretty easy so far. Her job wasn’t considered a very hard one. Not at all. All she had to do was sling drinks and make the customers feel welcome. Anyone could do it, and most people would look down on her for accepting such a simple, low job, but it had been Sarah’s first choice. She had had enough excitement in her life already, a calm job seemed more than welcome.
Sarah nodded. Was it that obvious that it was her first night alone? “Yeah. I’m just starting.” She admitted. “How am I doing so far?” she asked with a smile. The ex-Gryffindor liked that he had introduced himself to her; it was very polite of him and saved her from the awkward task of having to ask him for his name. “I’m Sarah.” She said back, pointing to her name tag, “But you probably have already noticed that.” Though, there was always the chance that he had been too wrapped up in his drink or food that he hadn’t. “Nice to meet you, Justin.” She smiled to him, giving him a friendly nod as well.

Justin shrugged "Well, i'm passionate about my work most people would call me a workaholic but i'm so close to having a break through in my research, i feel like leaving and coming back would derail my train of thought, but now i know i need a break" He said chuckling a little....he had fell asleep at his desk and that was a wake-up call for him. Though his boss didn't wake him up angry or anything quite the opposite as he had let Justin sleep and said nothing other than he might need to take a few days off to rest.
"Very good for your first day, I'd be to anti-social to be a waiter" He said with a small smile rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. He was an awkward turtle when it came to interacting with a lot of people, however that didn't hurt him in the romance department he was just guarded due to his heart being broken. "Yeah i noticed the name tag but it's always better to ask a pretty lady her name" He said smiling, he wasn't trying to pick her up or anything it was friendly flirting.

Sarah had always been a little flirty. It was nature for her, she supposed. It was human nature after all to want to be happy and to want to be in a relationship. Sarah had dated a few times, but nothing seriously had come out of any of her school aged relationships. She had dated Thomas, one of her best friends, but they had broken up almost as easily as they started going out and now he was dating her best friend, Madison. There were four of them in their friend group and it seemed fitting to most people that they would all eventually pair off and would all end up together. But Sarah didn’t feel that way towards James. He had been her best friend since she was in diapers. And her best friend he would stay.
“Petty lady huh?” she asked with a smirk. Sarah had been called beautiful before, but it was still nice to receive the compliment. She knew how it felt to be anti-social, but she was sure most people, seeing her now, wouldn’t believe her. “It’s weird… I was anti-social all though school,” because of my visions. She added in her head, but she was in no hurry to tell the world, just telling her friends had been enough to set her free. “If you’re over worked, then you should take a break. What use are you to anyone if you haven’t got any time to rest?” she asked with a shrug.

Justin smiled, it was nice to actually get out an socialize, though he wasn't sure if he would be able to dedicate time to other people while working. It seemed that working as an unspeakable, seemed to demand that person be a workaholic, because he knew so many much older than him that had it down packed. He received smiles and knowing looks every time he meet a colleague with a disheveled appearance. Some even took to wearing sweat pants and t-shirt to work because it was more comfortable. Justin always wore this and a lab coat, as he was alway experimenting on spiders and such...so close. Moving those thought out of his head he turned his attention back to Sarah.
"Very, though I know a number of words that could describe you, I find pretty to be simpler." He nodded as she admitted to being anti-social in school, he wouldn't have guessed by the way she effortlessly made conversation but he grew out of his shyness also. Everyone had something that made them hesitant to talk to people, he himself had his whole success hungry thing going on "In school I was a bit of a nerd, but I had a couple of close friends, we don't talk much they got put in different departments, not a lot of people work in the same department i do." he said with a small frown, he wasn't bragging quite the opposite, he would love for there to be many people in his department it left less for him to he was the only working in his area of expertise. "Well that's true, i'm probably going to take off at least a week so i can visit my family, and sleep. it's just hard because i'm the only one working in my branch of work."

“Maybe since there’s a wave of new workers fresh from school they can find someone to take your place for a week.” Sarah gave a shrug. She had friends who were going into the ministry, however, most were training to be aurors, not training to do… well… anything else. Sarah didn’t know what he did for his job, but she was more than sure that he was no auror. He wore a different sort of uniform and a lab coat which almost made her think that he was a healer at first, but he had brought up the ministry. “What is it that you do?” she asked purely out of curiosity. She was surprisingly curious about him, she wanted to know more. He interested her.

"Yeah, I've been hoping they would, ever since school let out." though he hadn't seen anybody added to the department yet, he supposed there was still time. A lot of kids just coming out from school didn't exactly know what they wanted to do for a living, him included. It took him awhile to accept the offer and work full time. Her next question stumped him at how to answer, he supposed it was okay to give his job title and nothing more, as long as he wasn't too detailed. "Unspeakable" he said though inwardly he was laughing at the humor....he told a random stranger but not his parents, which further cemented the idea of him paying a visit to his mother before his vacation was over and done with. Though he couldn't in return ask he what her job was seeing as she was working at the moment, he supposed she would find something to add on to the conversation, he admittedly wasn't too good at conversing with people.

So he was an Unspeakable. Interesting. She had no idea what they did, that was true, and she was sure that it would be nearly impossible to figure it out. She knew about them. They worked in the Ministry in some secret room or something. Her father had told her about them, but obviously, he knew very little as well. He had explained the entire ministry to her and what everyone in each department did so she could better understand the complicated working of Wizarding politics. “That seems interesting at least… but it also seems like a lot of work.” She nodded, noting his tired expression and then, his glass. “Would you like another drink?” she asked. The night was still early, and she started to wonder whether or not her friend would show up. Thomas had said that he would come, but he could have changed his mind. It didn’t matter; she liked spending time with Justin, though she barely knew him. “Unless you have to go back to work or something…” she hoped that he didn't.
