Who did he think he was showing up to her house over the break like that? Better yet just how did he even know where she lived? Bryony didn't want to know, she really didn't. Like most questions she found herself gathering about Preston she decided it was best she never really know the answer. Never the less, showing up as if he had actually been invited, interrupting a rather nice afternoon tea with Godfrey. He was such an annoying pest, never mind that it was her own fault for getting involved with him in the first place but the fact that he wormed his way onto her mother's good side. He was so insufferable. And of course he didn't even ask if she wanted to attend this stupid event with him. No, he would show up to her house with a Christmas present but he wouldn't ask her to this silly event. Instead he brought her. Who ever she was. Bryony found herself watching them for a while, he didn't even notice her did he? Of course he wouldn't. For the hundredth time that night she checked her watch. Godfrey had been kind enough to whisk her away off to London if she met him in the village past the school since she was unable to apparate by herself. Half an hour till the rendezvous. Bryony pursed her lips as she watched Preston across the room. Maybe she had no real reason to be jealous, after all was there even that much to like about him? More often than not it seemed like she wanted to do nothing more than to make him bleed so why should she care that he was at this stupid party with some other stupid girl. One dance, he took her to one dance, so why was she feeling to hung up on someone who seemed to do little more than antagonize her? Still she sipped her punch with annoyance. She didn't have to stand here and watch this, if he wanted to be here with her that why shouldn't she go meet Godfrey? Discarding her glass Bryony turned on her heel and left the great hall, in a matter of hours she would be far from this school and far away from Preston. It was a simple enough plan, go though one of those 'secret' passages that lead to the village, wait for Godfrey to show up, and then proceed to have a lovely evening with a gentleman - something Preston never seemed to master. He might have fooled her at the start but now his true colors had bled through. Her heels clicked upon the stone floors as she made her way from the Great Hall, the mess of people thinning the further away she got. As she made her way into an empty hall she found herself slowing her pace. Why was she in such a hurry to get away? Was it so horrible to see him with another girl? She shouldn't have even wanted him, she didn't want him, she couldn't. Turning at the corner Bryony stopped, pressing her back to the cold stone wall she closed her eyes and took a deep breath. How could one stupid boy cause such a storm of emotion inside her? Was she ever going to be able to think clearly again? Not wanting to dwell in her thoughts for too long Bryony pushed away from the wall and opened her eyes. No sooner was she about to carry on with her plan to sneak out did she found herself face to face with someone who came around the corner. Of all the people it could have been it had to be him.She found herself stumbling back from him for a moment as she was caught off guard. What was he doing here, didn't he have that stupid girl to be worrying about? "Bloody hell!" She swore as she caught her balance her eyes darting up to glare at him. "Are you following me?" Maybe the idea was a bit flattering, that she could steal the attention from his date, but on the other hand she still found herself snapping at him with a tone of annoyance. Once again, who did he think he was and what right did he have to be interfering like this? Well if he thought he was going to stop her from doing what she planned on doing he could go jump off the astronomy tower. words: 747 tag: PRESTON JANDON SHERWOODooc: *hides*

Easy. That's what the girl currently on his arm was, that and a sort of revenge. It wasn't his fault that Bryony's mom had invited him for lunch, okay maybe it was but how else was he supposed to deliver the stupid art kit to the girl. He watched her, secretly and pretended to be completely busy with his date. She made him so angry, who was she to be with another a guy...a stiff at that. He was better than that pencil pushing nine to fiver.
Of course he wouldn't show his jealousy in front of Bryony's mom, no need to let loose the monster when he was trying to win someone over but he did ruin her tea party. He watched a she checked her watch once again, who was she waiting for?
Then it hit him and his vision tinted with red, the stupid pencil pusher. He waited, waited for her to leave before introducing the girl on his arms to someone she'd have more fun with as PJ wasn't interested anymore. He walked behind her slowly giving him enough space to seem casual. It was irrational to be this jealous over someone who wasn't his but in a way she was. He wasn't going to lose her to some stiff that couldn't give her anything but stability. He refused to believe that this was the prince meant to take Bryony away from him.
"Obviously, seeing as you're to in a rush to say hi to people."
He returned the glare heatedly and looked at what she had on. There was no way she was going to meet up with him looking like that, he wouldn't stand for it. Part of him yelled at him to let her go, that this is what he wanted. For her to be safe and secure with a boring stiff, who could only hurt by stepping out their marriage with a man. The other part of him screamed for him to kiss her, to possess her lips. Yet he knew it would only make him want more, he would want to have her l..consume her.
"What are you doing with tea boy anyways?"
He asked leaning against the wall playing with his dagger, it was his best friend of sorts. Always there to remind him that he wasn't se sappy love sick sod. It was there to stop him and people from getting to close and then there was it's primary function.

Lips pressed tight together she stared at him. The nerve he had taking such a tone with her. "Well you seemed a bit caught up, didn't want to be rude." Her tone was sharp, she wanted him to know she was annoyed with him. If he was going to act like this why didn't he just ask her to come to this with him? Of course she mostly had wanted him to ask so she could turn him down, so he could try and hurt him the way her hurt her. Why did she have to stand by and suffer if he was was just going to treat her like someone of little importance? He clearly had little regard for her feelings, first the Rosier girl, now this girl, and who knew how many other girls there were that she just didn't know about. Maybe he had warned her he was no good at relationships, but that didn't justify this treatment. That didn't justify any of this. "I don't see how its any of your business what my plans with Godfrey are." Merlin he was insufferable. How did he even know she was headed off to meet him anyways? No, she didn't want to know. Just like everyone else questions just led to more unwanted answers. Well if he was going to ask questions she could give unwanted answers too. "But if you are so curious, Godfrey rented a penthouse for the night in London with a view over the river Thames so that we could have a nice private viewing of the fireworks and ring in the new year, together." She watched him as she spoke each word, her look unwavering. "Care to know more, or can I carry on? You see I really wouldn't want to keep him waiting too long." Was she daring him to try and stop her? Sort of. She wanted this to hurt him, she wanted to see that some part of him cared, that some part of him wanted her. But mostly she wanted him to hurt. words: 343 tag: PRESTON JANDON SHERWOODooc: *hides*

PJ's glare faltered at the annoyance in her voice, even though he wanted to he couldn't stay mad at her. That didn't mean she got to be jealous all by herself, honestly the nerve of her. "Why should it matter, you clearly dont care if your tea party with that stiff was anything to go by it would've been a friendly gesture." He allowed the distaste to seep through his words as if they could somehow poison the man he was talking about. Pj knew he couldn't stand an evening of them dancing together without losing his cool. He was glad the doofus was nowhere to be found, for the time being at least.
"Godfrey? His name is Godfrey? Oh come on Bryony honestly, is he really that interesting?"
He knew she'd say yes and it made his hand clench around his dagger, the one he held onto like a life line. He quickly put it away as it would do no good to leave it out in the open when tempers flared. Mocking aspiration turned into unshielded anger as she told him her plans. She couldn't be serious but he could tell she was, for a moment he allowed the hurt look to cross his face before the anger took control again. Maybe he was angry but when you were seconds away from losing to some ordinary prick, all your emotions blurred together.
Stepping closer to her inch by inch until she was back against the wall he could barely contain the growl threatening to break to through and he cursed his animagus form. "You're joking, please tell me you're joking" he pleaded in a harsh whisper as his hands curled into fist as he brought held them against the wall on either side of her face.

It was a dangerous game to play with emotions, but that was their nature, wasn't it? Pride could blur vision and thoughts. It was sickening how she could feel a swell in her chest of glee at getting such reactions out of him. It was almost better than the image of him on his knees for her, maybe because here she could see some truth in his eyes. A glint that she wanted to capture and keep for herself. "Yes, Godfrey," Even she had to admit it was a pretentious and ridiculous name, but she wasn't going to in that moment. "He is a very interesting man, and he fancies me quite a bit, is that so wrong?" No he wasn't inserting, he was boring. Boring and safe. He was everything that Preston wasn't, everything she should have hoped for and yet - she didn't. Time spent with him was time that still belonged to Preston, he consumed her thoughts like wild fire. But before she could go on she found herself backing up as he encroached upon her. Her heart started to beat faster with each closing step he took and by the time she felt the cold stone wall pressing to her back she could feel her heart racing in her chest. Palms pressed against the stones behind her she drew in a sharp breath as he spoke, no plead. She wasn't joking though, was she? She had every intention of leaving this place behind for the night. Leaving him behind. He was a toxin running through her veins. Her eyes met his, it was impossible not to find them when he was so close. So close she could feel his body heat pressing to her's. All those mixed emotions were storming in her chest. "Why would I joke about this?" Her voice was low when she asked. Oh how she had longed to see this jealousy burn in him as it had her, but she wanted more then that. Much more. She moved her hands from the wall behind her and grabbed at his leather jacket. "Try and stop me." She wasn't sure if she was telling him to or daring him to, or if some how it was a mix of both. Would he stop her though? Or would he let her go? words: 386 tag: PRESTON JANDON SHERWOODooc: XD

PJ had a problem, and it happen to come in a package that couldn't be more than five foot seven. Did she not understand how much she affected him, how much he wanted her but couldn't have her. She would forever be a black spot on his record for control, for ruthlessness. She made him feel all the emotions he tried to keep at bay, she clouded his judgement so skillfully it hurt to see things clear when she was gone. It didn't matter who was wrong, he wasn't purposefully hurting her but he was hurting her, and she was trying to keep up. Maybe he deserved every harsh word and eye roll but he couldn't give her up, not now. Not when she made him feel like he could still be human in his darkness, like he could be evil and still have a soul.
He grounded his teeth and tried to count to five hundred in his head but each number marked every second she belong to someone else. Or rather though she belong to someone else because he would win, even if he had to stain his hands with blood that shouldn't be wasted. Pj knew the world for what it was and he had to take what he wanted before it disappeared.
"You're lying, even I can tell that"
He sighed, the hallway was getting smaller, the music from the party barely audible but still a faint buzz in the background. This wasn't the dance, there was no turning back...he wouldn't give in just because she was feeling a bit vindictive. He didn't look away when she captured his eyes, he couldn't...she captivated him when she was close.
"Because we both know what I'd do to someone I consider a threat"
He whispered dangerously, his eyes darting to look at her lips before he moved his his hand to dart his thumb across the softness of her bottom lip. He smirked when she taunted him, she had no idea what she was asking. She couldn't possibly know how little self-control he had around her. He could feel it starting, the room was turning the same sultry red it always did when she was close.
"Are you sure you want me to"

How thick he could make the air. maybe he could see through her lie, but she wasn't about to give him the statsifaction of knowing it. He couldn't know just how deeply he had consumed her being, how she found herself comparing others to him. That was her secret, her sick secret. She couldn't even keep track of how many levels of wrong this was, that he was. She deserved someone simple, someone boring, not the murderous monster. Preston was someone she should have feared not craved. "Prove it, you don't know anything about what I feel or what I think!" But he did, didn't he? She could deny it but would her lies ever become truth? She didn't know. She couldn't know. Here she stood, eyes locked with his, the faint buzz of the new years party in the distance, and the air between them thick. She could feel her head start to spin as he uttered his threat. The emotions it stirred inside her so undefined. What fates was she tempting here? Her breath caught and a shiver ran down her spine as she felt the roughness of his thumb brush along her bottom lip, her soft skin clinging to his. The madness he brought upon her creeping back into her mind. This was wrong, he was wrong. But was it enough to stop her? Did she want him to? She bit at her lower lip as she tugged on his leather jacket trying to pull him closer to herself. She wanted to feel him against her, to eliminated the space where their air became thick and breath only him. She let her hands fall from his jacket and let them find their way to wrapping behind his neck. How was is possible to want someone you hated so much? What was so sweet about seeing the pain he felt knowing she was finding the arms of someone else to be in that made her want only his? She didn't want to think, not right now. "Just shut up Preston." Just a taste, that was all she needed. One taste. words: 352 tag: PRESTON JANDON SHERWOODooc: XD

Pj was sure she'd be the death of him, her smart mouth and need to always argue would surely do them both in someday. Strangely he didn't mind, he knew that once they hit the ground the only place to go was up unless they were unable to stand back up. He shouldn't want her...no he didn't deserve her, someone so innocently troubled by things she couldn't control, he knew she was a good a person. "Then why are you still here?!?! If you found him all that intriguing would you be here...would you even have come?"He was tired of them tiptoeing around whatever it was between them, they both knew what the other wanted even if they both too proud to admit. Even the toughest people had weak moments and his was now. He couldn't keep running from her and telling her to stay. He couldn't keep lying about the fact that all he wanted to do...was she her lose all the control she seem to have. He rolled his eyes and snorted at the open invitation. He pressed his lips against hers forgetting the fact they were in the middle of the hallway. His kiss was confident and demanding. He couldn't force her to stay there with him, but he could do his damnest to convince her to stay. BRYONY CATE MOONBERRYOcc: its short x.c

How long could this dance of theirs last? Tiptoeing and stumbling around their feelings, leaving them with emotions strung out thin. Pushing and pulling one another until one of them broke. But how long before they shattered one another? How many ways could he push her till she could take no more? His signals were more than mixed, they were contradictions and riddles that she was left to piece together. Frustrated her words slipped out, "Why am I still here? Why are you here!" What reasons did he have to be upset? What reason did he have for giving her this attention when all he would do was steal it away. Just a taste, that was all she would ever have. How she wished she could hurt him in the ways he hurt her. She hated him for that, she hated him for many reasons. But her hate was just a mask she hide behind. A mask that covered the feelings she tried desperately to ignore. He was no good for her, a forbidden poison that would only seep into her veins and fester. Hasn't he consumed enough of her? Then why was it she still found her eyes drifting to linger on his lips, her mind wondering just how sweet poison could really taste. She could feel her insides twist and drop as he drew in to her. She knew she should have pushed him away. She should have left, she should have been off meeting Godfrey. But instead she met his long overdue kiss pulling herself closer to him as their lips met. She would deny it later, how could she not? This was wrong, he was wrong and yet how easy she found it to become caught up in him. Countless efforts she made to pull away from his sweet lips but each time she found herself drawn right back in, unable and unwilling to break away. The storm in her head swilled viciously as she ignored her voice of reason. One kiss, that was all it was, all it could ever be, her one indulgent kiss. When she finally found her will again her hands found his face and held it tight so she could pull away. Her lips tingled as she drew back from him, no her whole body tingled, it felt wrong to stop but it felt wrong to continue. She pushed him to arms length "You're such a prick Preston!" Her words were nothing more than false anger even if they were true. How could he do this to her? Didn't he know the effect he had? Didn't he know how she would just keep holding on to the stupid hope that some how he would be the guy who she had thought he'd been at the last dance? He never would be though, and she needed to move on. So why couldn't he let her? Why couldn't he just let her hate him. She looked to him her hands resting firmly on his chest as if they could actually keep him away. She would always be betrayed by the way she looked at him, words of anger were pointless when he could read so plainly the truth of her feelings. words: 538 tag: PRESTON JANDON SHERWOODooc: XD

PJ wondered why he couldn't walk away, there were so many things going through his head it was spinning. The way they always argue, the way she never gave in but always gave in. Everything about their relationship swirled around his head like a olive in cocktail. No matter how much he watered it down it was always too strong for him to drink. Still, the way she asked him why he was there, it was like she thought he didn't care. That stung way more than he would've thought, why else wasn't he able to walk way? Maybe he should tell her, he would before the night was through.
"Why don't you tell me, Ony. Since you obviously have everything figured out.
That's not what he meant to say, he meant to apologize and say he was wrong. He wanted to how she made him bit the tip of his tongue until it bled, to keep from telling her everything that would give her a weakness. He yearned to be someone she needed, someone she could depend on to give her stability...but he couldn't say it...he couldn't be it. She called him a jerk, she thought he was a monster and that's the way it should be. Not for the first time since the dance did he realize how much Drew and him were alike. He was starting to see Drew's obsession with Ais in a new light. Drew loved Aisling but needed Dahlia. He was caught between two girls he could never allow himself to fall for. How could he let himself be responsible for bringing them into a life where they would have to kill to stay afloat. He knew he wanted Bryony but did he need her....what about Elianna...did he need or want her the same way?
He knew it would end, there was no way she would let this go unquestioned. No matter how much he wanted to kiss her, since the day no night in the common room. He still pictured them walking to the dance, the easy conversations that never happened anymore. Flashes of things he ruined with his selfish need to not be selfish. Bryony was right, he was sending mixed signals and it was killing him. He should've just said it when he had the chance...what would it take for him to realize he needed her like air. He was too stubborn to admit that he needed anybody, the best she would get was an apology.
He focused on the feeling of her against him, the softness of her lips and the way she wasn't fighting him for once. When it was over he looked away, down the hallway so she wouldn't see the regret in his eyes. Not about the kiss but everything he had ruined that got them to this point...he never felt as guilty as he did now.
"Im a prick?"
He laughed humorlessly, he didn't look her in the eyes as he said it, why give her anymore power over him. How could she deny the fact that she wanted him just as bad as he did her. No want wasnt enough, neither was need...it was deeper than that...it was stronger. He sighed in frustration and shook his head...it was almost new years, sooner or later he would look back on this year and try to live with all his regrets. He might as well make due with the rest of the time he had, make the most of it.
"Fine, ill be a prick or a jerk or whatever name you want to put on it. If you want to go to him I cant legally stop you but I wont be responsible for what happens the day after. I screwed up, I did the wrong thing and made the wrong choice. I already told you in the library but may be not the entire truth....you're to me what loving Sylvia is to you. A freaking weakness"
He needed a drink, a shrink and a priest. A drink to relax his nerves, a therapist to help him work through his problems and priest to exorcise his demons. Most importantly he needed to get away before he said something he regretted...until he showed her how much he cared. BRYONY CATE MOONBERRYOcc: im dead

What was this that was playing out before her? They could get so caught up in one another's storms that they could forget about the aftermath. She had been fighting him for months now, trying to prove something to him, to herself. He was everything she should hate, everything she should have despised. And yet, one night. That was all it had taken. A glimpse of a boy who made her feel special and she found herself addicted. Now they stood an arms length from each other, standing in the eye of their storms. Everything was still. Her hands slipped down his chest and back to her sides as he spoke. Her breath caught in her chest. She wasn't even sure if she actually remembered how to breathe. Stuck in the pause between his words she found herself wishing time to stop. For all of this to stop. The fighting, the way her mind raced over thoughts of him at the simplest reminders, they way she wanted to hate him so that she could forget that she didn't hate him at all, the way she hated herself for all of this. If only it could stop, if just for this moment. His words seeped into her, her breath still caught in her lungs. She could turn each word over and over in her head and still find different meanings to them. But for once this wasn't their game was it? Their dance had finally come to an end, and they were left standing across from one another waiting for the next movement. Perhaps this could have been a beautiful moment to watch from afar, a start of something, or maybe an end. "Preston..." She breathed his name with desperate lungs as she reached out to him. Her hand softly finding its way to his cheek, begging him to turn his head, to look at her. She needed to see his eyes, to see this wasn't some cruel part of their stupid game. They were growing old, each pass at one another just more damage to their collective wreak. Was he as tired of she of this matter? Of them? How her heart still raced in her chest, his skin felt electric under her touch. She reached her other hand up to his cheek as well caressing his face. Something about this moment made her shudder. Did he understand how terrifying this was? How terrifying it was to feel so much for him... "Just ask me to stay...please." It was wrong, it was all wrong. But she couldn't stop herself, not now, not after that. She moved her face closer to his, the air tasted of him, sticky and intoxicating. Was it worth fighting anymore? Was it worth the noise in her head? She didn't know, not anymore. Tired of thinking she gave up. She gave in, her lips finding their way to pressing softly against his once again. It was effortless, as if she hadn't given it a second thought. As if she wasn't giving him a second thought. She couldn't deny it, not now. Maybe she never really could deny it to begin with. Like everything else it had been wishful thinking. She was captivated by him and no one else could measure up. He would be her biggest mistake no matter what she choose to do. Staying with him or leaving him behind, neither was the right choice and yet she picked the wrong one. But she had made up her mind months ago, hadn't she? That day when he offered to let her walk away and she didn't, it had lead them here to this moment. She kissed him with tenderness even though he didn't deserve it. He didn't deserve her, but here they were. words: 629 tag: PRESTON JANDON SHERWOODooc: >.<

It all came down to this, didn't it? Here he was just...defenseless and she had changed moods. She could be so frustrating and yet he couldn't walk away, even as he willed himself to wall back to the dance and find Bridget. It would make things easier, it would keep her safe but even Pj knew he couldn't keep running from Bryony. She had managed to come across his weakness...it had started with letters. He wrote them with wrong intentions but he felt how much they had in common. Two sides of the same coin, marked by their last names, tainted by their blood status. Then things went sour and he realized how weak caring for someone made you when lived his world.
He felt her hand on his cheek and he steeled his emotions, he wouldn't let her see him fall apart. He took a step back and stuffed his hands in the pocket of his jacket. His eyes met hers and he was sure she could see right through him, why did she have to do this. It was karma for sure, it was the only explanation of why she could have this much power. Women were the harbingers of destruction when it came to men and it seem like Bryony was made just for him.
He liked the way his name caught as it fell from her lips, like it caused her to stop breathing. In a way it irked him, like all this time she hadn't realized how much she meant to him. Like he was just playing with his emotions, yes he was jerk but he wasn't that bad. "What?"
Simple words, thats all he could manage without giving away his charade, why did she have to do that? What right did she have to worm her way into his life and make herself this important. She didn't even realize that she was the only girl who ever got away with this much nonsense. He would've walked away ages ago had it been someone else, but no she could understand that. Why the hell couldn't she see that he burned so bright for her, and pretended with everyone else. He could read her so well, why couldn't she read him? Or maybe she could and she was just denying it, damn her stubbornness.
Ask her to stay? Hadn't he been asking her to stay this whole time? To not give herself to that guy when when so very obviously belong beside him...in his life not Godfrey's. Was he going to lose again to some....goofball?
"Stay."
That one word felt like a million hippogriffs were placed on his shoulders like he made the wrong choice. The last bit restraint he had broke when she kissed him, he knew it wouldn't end good. It was either the start of saying something cursed or the end of something that could've burned brighter than stars. Either way he stopped pretending, he gave in, kissing her with all the passion, anger, frustration and jealousy she had caused to build up in him since that night at the dance.
He knew it was wrong, he knew he had made the wrong choice but he was stuck. This the beginning of destruction and they both knew it, when the morning came...there would be regrets and his heart broke... like many before her she would regret him and for the first time it actually mattered to him. What was she even doing? He had told her this would never be able to be what she wanted. She had no place in his world not so long as she had Silvia. She could never give up the girl though, she was her weakness, but she was also her strength. But Bryony's thoughts were not on the other girl, or even on how horrible of an idea this was. Tomorrow this moment would be shattered by reality, but they still had tonight. Hands wandering and exploring as she was met with the roughness of his kiss, teeth against tongue and lip she found herself being whisked away into a new found bliss. She had craved feeling this emotion from him, to be pressed against him lost in a heated moment. Never had a kiss felt like this before, just like every emotion she seemed to feel with Preston this was intensified, it was a moment of weakness that she gave into and it would be her own fault when she found herself broken because of it. Because of him. How badly she wanted to linger at his lips, but some how she found herself pulling away slowly. She looked up at him breathlessly as she struggled to find air again. She could feel the swilling of her mind slowly starting again. Questions, so many questions all with answers she knew she didn't want. How painfully her heart beat in her chest, pumping in her chest as if it were about to escape so strong and yet so fragile at the same time, just waiting to break when reality hit. "I'll stay....for you, I'll stay." Her staggered breath a quiet whisper. He won. She'd given in even though it would lead her to nothing more than pain. She ignored the safe path and traveled with him just as she said she would, she would walk beside him and it was going to kill her. It was creeping into her mind, the reality of it all, the truth that was this moment. Everything she had been trying to escape and more. There was no more running though. No more hiding. She swallowed the lump that was forming in her throat, how parched she was suddenly feeling, "We should, we should find a drink." Her hands still lingered on him and she found herself fighting the urge to pull herself closer and seek the safeness of his arms. After all, was there anything safe about him? "We...could find a place to watch the fireworks....if that is you want to...." Her words fell lamely from her lips as if suddenly she didn't know how to speak. She didn't though, not after that, after his words and those kisses. She didn't even know what they were, if anything more than what they had been before, which she still found herself unclear as to what that was. Her head was starting to spin and she was trying not to show it, trying to hide behind a clear mask. What a foolish girl she was. "Let's get a drink. A nice stiff drink." The eye of a storm never lasted long enough, did it? Soon enough the winds returned and destruction wreaked havoc all over again. Slowly her hands slipped away from him even though she craved to hold on just a little bit longer. She would always crave more though, wouldn't she? He was an addiction, she saw that clearly now. Try as she might he would never wash out of her, he was etched into her skin. She was a foolish girl with a foolish heart and she was stupid enough to give it to a boy that was nothing but disaster and there was no one to blame but herself. words: 630 tag: PRESTON JANDON SHERWOODooc: they are killing me again.

Nothing last forever, that was as fact PJ knew very well. No matter how much you tried to delay the inevitable, to stop time...it just seemed to spin faster. His blood was on fire, he was lost in a whirlwind of emotions none of them rational. She made his thoughts go haywire, and he didn't even understand why, why this one girl was the root of most of his moral anguish. He couldn't understand why he needed so bad to be a decent person for her, why he died inside knowing he would only break her heart. No matter how much he wanted to be a good person, he knew he was a monster and monsters didn't come out in the daylight.
He enjoyed the feeling of her in his arms, how she cling to him as if she was actually safe in them. How ironic it was that the only thing he couldn't protect her from was currently trying to imprint the taste of her tongue in his memory. If he was going to bring in the New year with dangerous mistakes he would send the old one down in flames. His breath was ragged when they finally parted, and he wanted to pull her back in. He had forgotten so quickly they were in a hallway, she distorted his reality without even trying...how was not able to see that?
He smiled at her words, even though they cut him like the jagged edges of broken Vodka bottle. She was staying for him but putting herself on the line, while he selfishly made her a target for whatever bs his enemies could plan. She was definitely a black spot on his self-control. He could see it though, the start of regret in her eyes and he ignored it. His eyes would never quite display the same thing, his posture reeked of carefully veiled guilt but Bryony's most expressive feature had always been her eyes, in his book.
Pj lived his life with no regret and no matter what he wouldn't regret anything that happened between them. He would hate himself for his lack of control, his selfishness, but never regret the roads he choice to walk. "That sounds like a plan" he said with a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. Though maybe the whole bottle would be better than a drink.
"If you wanna see the fireworks, I only came because I knew you'd be here"
The shrug that followed was an attempt at nonchalant, like he wasn't a stalker. He didn't mind being one, he had already accepted the fact that she made him crazy enough to kill. He doubted the fact that she realized it yet.
"We could always get a couple bottles and ditch"
He smiled and lead her back to the party, back to where they would both be able to regain whatever sense they lost in that hallway. The strangest sense of deja vu hit him while walking to the great hall. It reminded him of the dance, such a long time ago it seemed. A time when things were a lot less complicated. How easily she could have let herself be drawn back into him, to spend the night lost in the heat of the moment disregarding all sense of the world around them. But ignoring a problem didn't make it go away. Tonight they could pretend and then the glass would shatter, just as it had before, only this time it would be worse. Another moment of weakness and she found herself pulling closer to him, but he couldn't stop this anymore than she could. Why hadn't she listened? She looked up at him when he spoke her eyes narrowing as she opened her mouth to speak, but she quickly shut it. She pushed down the urge to argue with him about knowing she was going to come. No matter how much she wanted to call him a lair for it, it wasn't worth it. Of course he knew she would come, that was why he brought the other girl - wasn't that the same reason she was going to meet Godfrey? Instead of letting heated words slip from her lips she tilted her head up and pressed the to his jaw line, "Stupid prick." she murmured into his skin between softly pressed kisses. Flashes of what they could be, what they could have been, made her chest sting and wrench in pain. A pain that only made her want him more as if some how he was the cure and not the poison. But she pulled away, grasping only on his hand so he could lead her away from this haunted hall way. "Only if you promise to take me somewhere we can be alone. Really alone...." Fingers lacing between his she found herself looking upon him. Things would never be like that one night. Things would never be like this night. She knew maybe she should have been thankful that at least this time she knew what she was in for. But she wasn't. She almost wanted to suggest that they just run away, find some place where no one would know their names. Somewhere they could just get lost in one another. But that wasn't who he was. That wasn't who she was. She found herself holding his hand tighter. "Lets just get some bottles and get out of here, okay?" She tried not to sound desperate, but reality was sinking in and sinking in fast. She wasn't ready to let go. Not yet. Maybe she would never be ready to let get - but it would be her demon to face at another time. She just wanted tonight. Just tonight and she could find a way to be happy. Some how, some how she would be able to. She had to. words: 451 tag: PRESTON JANDON SHERWOODooc: -rolls off a cliff into a sea of angst-
