Sarah Jane Finnigan tied her apron around her waist and looked around the pub. It was a normal night. During the day, this place was bustling with wizards trying to get into Diagon Alley through the only entrance from Muggle London. But at night, Sarah Finnigan entertained a number of interesting characters. Ministry workers stopping to have a drink on the way home from work. Shop owners and workers stopping to catch up with some of their friends and laughing around a table in the back with large mugs in hand. And of course, the occasional drunk man who thought that he was entitled to flirt with Sarah. Though she was able to hold her own and she only required outside help once.
This was the first time that Sarah had been back to work since the attack on Vanessa just a few days ago right outside the entrance to Diagon Alley. Sarah had taken a few days off to make sure that Vanessa was safe and comfortable now that she was staying at her flat with her and her roommate and best friend, Madison. But she needed to be able to afford her life. So she went back to work, serving drinks and keeping the bar in check while the rest of the wizarding world slept.
The first hour of her shift went like normal, but the during the second hour, Sarah began to feel light headed. She knew that feeling. She was over due for a vision. It had been months since she even had a tiny vision. She knew that the longer between her visions was much like the amount of time between earthquakes. The longer between, the worse they were. The worse the pain would be and the harder the scene to watch, let along get out of her head. It took merely moments between starting to feel light headed and her vision going black. She felt herself begin to loose balance and fall backwards, but she didn't feel like she was falling. She felt like she was being attacked. She saw two men above her with their wands both pointed at her, trying to torture the location of Vanessa out of her. Sarah couldn't tell who the men were, but they reminded her a lot of the same two who had attacked Vanessa just a few nights back. Sarah could feel herself shivering fiercely as the scene slipped away and the pain began to fade. She wasn't sure if she had ever had a vision quite as bad. SIMON DREW WILLIAMS

Simon Drew Williams. He never thought he was going to be spending his time so long at work but tonight was the longest day he worked around at the shop. He wasn't sure why. Ollivander wasn't there today, and it felt like he had to take over the shop for that day. So he did, not many customers but that he didn't mind. He could do his work that he wanted to do. To make wands. It was just that he worked out till late. While looking over at the time he saw that it was getting to the night hours. The sun was leaving the shop as he put down his equipment at the closet. He yawned a bit as he stood up and closing the shop. Locking it with a few extra spells so nothing could be stolen or anything like that. Simon then headed over to the Leaky Cauldron. Normally Simon didn't drink or went out for a drink, but today he was thinking different. He had to stay awake so he could use something for it. While entering the Leaky Cauldron he looked around at the many witches and wizards that were there. All getting from there work to chat with others, or even drink with others. While wanting to take a seat, he saw something happening while walking past the many tables. Seeing as a young girl in front of him who was a waitress looked like she was going to fall. Maybe it was a vision she had or something, but it sure took her down. As quick as he could, he saw her falling to his way as he caught her in his arms. While looking at her face, it looked like she was in terror. So he quickly pulled her up, and brought her to the back of the room and la laid her down. He then waited for her to get back as he looked worried. SARAH JANE FINNIGAN

Sarah barely felt the arms around her when he caught her. She barely felt him move her to the back of the room by the bar. She wasn't paying attention to what was happening around her. There was no way that she possibly could. All of her senses were in overload. She could still feel the pain. She could still hear the laughter. She could still see the men. She was still shivering and goose bumps had appeared all over her now chilled skin. But she could feel herself beginning to loosen up. She was making her way back from the scene and she was beginning to feel her body again. She hated the side effect. She always came back from a vision to a freezing body. Almost as if her heart stopped and she had died, causing her body to began to lose temperature rapidly. She hated it.
When she was finally able to gain her vision back, despite her eyes having been open for most of the time, Sarah slowly focused in on the stranger who had assisted her. She didn't need help. She had been doing it on her own for the past seven years when her father and mother weren't around to help her and her sister had a life of her own. But that didn't mean that Sarah wasn't grateful for the well-meaning stranger. She opened her mouth to say something, but she wasn't quite sure what to say. Instead she just sort of looked at hi face. It was surprisingly handsome. And rather young. Nobody young or handsome every came into the pub this late; except for the occasional ministry intern who needed a hard drink and to vent to someone about his boss. "Hi..." She managed to choke out in a broken, still shivering voice.

Simon looked at the young girl that was still on the ground. The goose bumps on her arms showed a scary feeling and thought she had. While he never thought a night like this was going to happen, he yet wanted to make sure everything was going okay with her. He knew a few people that had problems like this. He remembered one time that a old male came into the show with his granddaughter and the guy got a heart attack. While he knew nothing of this, he yet tried to help as much as he could. Lucky he was on time, as the old man survived it. Something he would not have thought that would happen. While touching the girl he could feel her body getting cold. It was like she had a heart attack. Like she died. Her body getting colder and colder losing temperature rapidly. It didn't feel good, so he hoped it was going to change quickly. It was then that her eyes slowly started to gain focus on him again. It was a good thing to see she came back to the real world again. While looking at her, he could see she was trying to say something. Her mouth was moving but nothing came out of it. He waited as he gave a smile. "Hello."He said as replied back to the hi from the female on the ground. "I hope everything is okay. You fell down, and I could catch you just in time, but then you felt cold. So I was hoping everything was going to be okay with you."He said as he looked at. Her voice shivered a bit but at least she was back again. He stood up as he went through his hair with a hand, waiting for the girl to speak again, or at least hoping to get back to herself. SARAH JANE FINNIGAN

Sarah propped herself up on her elbows and tried to regain her baring's. She was in the bar. Still on the clock. Most of the customers were unfazed by her fall, which was such a relief for her. She didn't want to upset the normal routine. She hated it when there was a riot in the bar and she didn't want to be the cause of one. She was the one in charge. She was the bartender, and the only worker in the bar throughout the night with the exception of the cook who never left the kitchen. Sarah had seen him only a handful of times.
"Thanks." She whispered and rubbed her forehead with one of her hands, propping herself up with the other. Her head was still throbbing lightly and she still felt a little dizzy, but at least she was back. "I'm sorry that you can to jump in like that. I normally take so many precautions to make sure that this doesn't happen." She sighed and sat herself up, leaning her back against the bar until she was able to stand up again. When she stood, her legs felt like jelly and she held onto the side of the bar with another sigh. "I'm sorry you have to see this... I can only imagine how unattractive this is." She laughed a little.

Simon looked at what she was trying to do, but she had to take it easy. He was sure of that. Because if she didn't do that, there was going to be a problem. "You should take it easy."Simon said. He went down to her hoping she would at least lay down and take her rest. Some would think that wasn't good but most of the people that were in the bar really didn't look that much for the waitress. Some even stopped drinking seeing as how late it was. The crowd wasn't that big anymore, and he knew that soon they would leave. He heard her as he looked at her. "No problem and do not worry. Sometimes it happens, lucky I wasn't drunk else you might have just been on the ground."He said as he looked at her. Simon gave a smile as he put a stroke of hair away from Sarah. "Don't worry about unattractive, it is not like you would be unattractive in any possible way."He said as he smiled laughing a bit. He then heard some noise as he looked at her and then standing up. "Give me a few minutes, you stay here."He said as he walked out of the room. A half an hour passed away as he came back still with a apron on him. He then looked at her as he gave a smile. "Well other then looking like totally female with this apron, your guests are away. You got extra tips and the cook went off to home to get to bed too."He said. "The tables are clean, and uhm well that is it. So you don't have to worry anymore, so you can take your rest dear."He said as he gave a soft smile, putting the apron off. SARAH JANE FINNIGAN

Sarah knew that she should take it easy, but she was on the clock for another 3 hours. The bar was open all night, there was no way to close the place that lead from the magical world to the wizarding world. Sarah had liked the fact that she was able to take the night shift on her own. It gave her a good cover in case something like this happened. She always knew that it would and that was why she convinced Hannah to let her take the shift on her own. She liked the dark. She liked being alone for the most part. She liked that this was a place where she could hide but still be seen and still be helpful. And she liked all of her regular customers. She blushed when he said that she couldn't be unattractive.
When he came back, Sarah looked around the bar. At first, she wasn't sure how it had gotten so quiet. Most of the regulars went until they passed out and then a friend of their would help them get home. She would continued to serve for another three hours, then she would cut alcohol off and the next bartender would basically just sit behind the bar until the morning bartenders arrived for the breakfast rush. "Hmm... not bad for your first time." She smiled a little. She got herself a bottle of water from under the bar and drank most of it in one drink, loving the way that it felt cold on her throat as it went down. She still felt cold on the outside, but she was gaining back her temperature on the inside. "Can I get you anything?" She asked him and took her apron back, tying it around her waist. "How about a name?" She asked. "I'm Sarah, Sarah Finnigan."

It was like time never changed. He was young sometimes a flirt but suddenly that changed. He learned what he should do and what he should not. All by the lessons of age, traveling and working. At least the girl was getting back to herself and he at least could take away and out the many many drunk people. He hated that, but this was the real life and he knew it. When he came back he looked at Sarah who took her apron back. He gave a smile. "First time or not, you got yourself some free time right now." He said. He saw her taking the bottle and drinking as that was good. "Nice to fall in the door back there Sarah." He said laughing. "Never had that effect on woman. But the name is Simon. Simon Williams."he said once again giving a soft smile as he grabbed himself a water taking a drink from it. SARAH JANE FINNIGAN

Sarah smiled when he introduced himself and she looked at him again, this time with clear vision. He didn't look too much older than she was. She was able to decide that he had to be in his mid twenties. She also began to wonder what had really brought him to the Leaky Cauldron that night. She had origionaly thought that he had to be one of the many Ministry Interns who stopped off to get a hard drink on their way home after their boss had over loaded them on paperwork, but after looking at him again, she knew that he wasn't from the Ministry. He didn't have that ministry look about him. He looked nice in what he was wearing, but it wasn't professional enough to be a Ministry Intern. Where as she was wearing her typical work outfit: a black tank top (which wouldn't stain if spilled on), a pair of jeans and a pair of none-slip shoes that she had bought in a department store in muggle London. "Well it's nice to meet you, Mr. Williams. You'll have to let me make you a drink on the house for being so helpful tonight." She insisted. Then she decided to ask, "So what brings you to the pub tonight anyway?"

Late shifts, double shifts, wandmaking. It was all part of the triangle that once Ollivander was out of the town or out for whatever reason that Simon had those days. Starting early to open the shop. Start by making a wand or 2 before running around in the shop helping the many customers that had problems with their wands. Either trying to repair them or even trying to find a new one. And often he had those late night shifts where he closed the shop to make himself some extra wands. It was hard to find and create the perfect wand, but while no one was shopping he had time for that. Ministry was never his calling so he never thought about to join the Ministry at all. Being a shopkeeper or at least working in the shop gave him freedom. As he looked back at the smiling girl he looked her into the eyes. It was a great girl that was standing in front of him and that was one thing for sure. "Please don't Mr. me. Mr. is my father. Just call me Simon or Drew. Whatever you prefer."He said giving a smile to her. He put his hand through his hair again as he heard her. "Well I wasn't exactly here for a drink, normally I don't drink beer or anything like that. Once in a while I would, but I rather drink water."He said as he looked at her. "And well late shifts later then late, just made me go to come here."He said as he looked at her.

"Alright, Simon it is then." She agreed with a smile. She was used to being called Miss. and Miss. Sarah. That was what a lot of the regular customers had taken to calling her. And the ones who didn't know her name would simply address her as Miss. She had gotten into the habit of calling most of her customers Mr. and Sir. seeing as she only remembered the names of her regulars. She smiled and nodded when he explained that he wasn't really here or a drink because he normally didn't drink. "It's a little hard not to drink in this profession." She admitted with a smirk. It was true, she often had a drink after she clocked out and before she went home. Either that or she would wait until she got home if she got off later than normal. But she was still young and had only been out of school for a year. She was still figuring out her life. And now, she was figuring it out with a friend of hers living in the living room of the small two bedroom flat she shared with her best friend. Sarah knew about late shifts. She was her almost all night, almost every night. She got two nights off a week and that was when she caught up with her friends, who were all Ministry workers and Quidditch players. All woke up early and went to work while Sarah normally slept. "Late shift? Where do you work?" She asked, deciding not to just assume that he was a Ministry worker too.

Simon gave a smile as she finally started to say his name. It was better then just Mr. Williams or Drew. He did like his second name, but he never told many people about it. He rather had the name of Simon. His respect to people did make him say Mr. and Miss a lot but yet sometimes if he knew them enough he would start to talk to the first name. It was a habit he had, that he couldn't change. He gave a smile as he heard her words. "Then the power to not drink is a challenge. A challenge you might not win, but can try."He said as he took another sip of his water. He looked around the Leaky Cauldron as the wizards were gone, the cook was off since he send him away as he looked at the girl. "Well you at least don't have to do the late shift anymore. The wizards paid, gave extra tips and then went home so early."He said as he laughed. Hearing her question he put his hand through his hair as he looked at her. "I have been working a few months now here at the Diagon Alley, I am a Wand Maker at Ollivander, but since a few weeks. Andrew left for awhile and I am taking over the shop. So I am selling, and in the late hours I am making wands."He said as he took another sip of his drink.

Sarah liked drinking. She didn't mind the effect that it had on her for the most part. She never let herself get to the point of doing anything stupid, except for the one time; but Sarah chose not to think about that. Mostly, alcohol just made her happy and helped her to relax and get to sleep without to much effort on her part. "Drinking can be fun if you know how to do it." She insisted with a smirk. She too looked around the bar. "Well, even if all my customers are gone, I still have to work." Sarah said. She still had a few hours on her shift, and it wasn't like her job was done. She wouldn't just sit where with an empty bar. She had things she had to do before she could even think about just sitting there and waiting for the next set of workers to leave. She was just a bartender. She had no authority to just leave or actually, to kick out customers or send the cook home. She just hoped that Hannah didn't find out what had happened tonight. She'd be in risk of losing her job. She had been totally unprofessional about it all. "A wand maker? That's pretty cool." She admitted.

While Simon wasn't that drinker he could see and hear that Sarah Finnigan the girl in front of her enjoyed to drink sometimes. Especially with the late shifts and all around the days. Alcohol was for the most people that didn't like the screaming of the boss. The ministry workers that never enjoyed there work, feeling like they had to take a drink to get unstressed. It wasn't weird, it was normal. It was normal for those people that enjoyed to get attacked by their boss for failing the job. While he had a boss, he wasn't at all like most people. Andrew was different, he was most like his family he heard stories about. The old Ollivander who had the shop. "Sure it can be fun, I just don't want to get in problems at all if I need to get back early to work."He said as he looked at her. Looking at the time he gave a smile. "Well how long do you need to work then, because if it is 2 more hours, I will stay so you don't faint for me."He said laughing and giving a wink at her. He heard her as he smiled. "I enjoy my work and as long as you enjoy it, you have a great time doing it."He said looking at Sarah.

Sarah was actually quite happy with her position. She loved that she was able to work alone all night and she actually enjoyed her customers as well. She even enjoyed when everyone was leaving and she had a half an hour or so alone to clean the place up before the morning bar tender got in and began his shift. For the first few weeks of her job, her good friend Thomas, who was also her best friends boyfriend, would come in after work and stay with her for the entire night, wanting to be sure that she didn't come across any trouble. She never did. Not when he was around any way. She hadn't seen him a lot lately, and she knew why, but it still made her a little upset. "I've only got a few hours more. You really don't have to wait for me to get off, I'm alright." Sarah insisted and even took her rag out from her special spot under the counter and walked around the counter, going to clean off a few tables, picking up empty bottles and mugs as she went along. "I'm glad that you like your job. I agree, if you like your job, it's more than just a job." She agreed.
