Alec wandered down the stairs from the dorm carrying a pile of books. "Wonderful, time to catch up on homework," he though. He sat down in a comfy armchair and set down all his many books. "Well, I guess I should start with Potions," he spoke out loud as he got out his potions homework and a quill. He began to work in the silence. He was completely unaware that anyone might see him and join him.

Hiromi was making her way back to the Tower. She had a rough day with classes, and had social duties that night. The rough day didn't really come from the work in the classes. That was a breeze, and she had gotten her homework done already. It was dealing with some low life Hufflepuffs, especially Nina "everyone thinks she's so damn cute with her pretty smile and her ugly chimp" Devoll. Hiromi considered herself popular and well respected, and along with her intelligence, she took pride in that. To have a Hufflepuff of all students show her up was the ultimate embarrassment. She would get back at Nina for the hiccup potion. Though Hiromi started it with her hateful comments to Nina, she would never blame herself.
So she dashed in and popped a piece of blood candy in her mouth. The stuff helped her stress like a cigarette would help someone addicted to those. She collapsed in a chair in the common room and removed her sunglasses as the sun was in the process of going down. She then looked over and noticed the Fifth Year. She knew a little about Alec, but had no clue that he was also a half-vampire. She liked him well enough, mainly because he was another Ravenclaw and she liked those in her House well enough. She didn't want to directly go over and talk to him though. She liked her own methods of getting people's attention.
"Bloody hell, what a day," she said. Despite being born in Japan, her English was quite fluent.

Alec was in middle of a homework assignment when he heard someone enter. He glanced up really quick to see another Ravenclaw, an girl. She looked like she was stressed so Alec decided it was best to let her think or whatever. Then he heard he speak, her English was good but Alec could sense an accent, Japanise perhaps. He looked up towards her, he eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Are you alright," his own voice called out. He had a British accent.

Just because Hiromi liked Ravenclaws more than the other Houses, that didn't mean she was all butterbeer and sugar cookies to them. And when she was in a bad mood, matters were definitely worse. So she looked up and gave Alec an annoyed stare.
"I'm just bloody fantastic!" she said. "Does it look like I'm alright? You're a bloody Ravenclaw, and you should be more observant than that!" She then calmed herself, rose, and walked over, looking at what he was working on.
"Potions?" she asked. "This should be easy enough for you... Alec isn't it?" She sat next to him and formed a smile. "Well, I trust you know my name anyone. There are few in Ravenclaw Tower who don't. Well, if you don't, it's Hiromi Doji Yen."
She always included her middle name because of how proud she was of it. Though her mother wanted her to embrace her witch side and that only, Hiromi embraced her vampire side and being of the same blood as Prince Denjiro Doji, lord of Japan's incarnation of the Jiang Shi. Hiromi almost wanted people to refer to her as Princess because of her "royal bloodline". One couldn't blame her mother. Doji killed her first husband after all.
Hiromi looked over at the rest of Alec's homework.
"Well you had better excel in all your subjects, Alec," she said. "You were sorted into Ravenclaw, and that means you have been set in a higher standard than those in the other Houses here." Hiromi accepted the company of other Ravenclaws because of how intelligent they were, and felt that any who might make proper use of their intellect tainted the House.

Alec was startled at first when she yelled then calmed down when she came over to sit next to him. She looked at what he was working on and said it should be easy for him. Honestly it really was, he loved the subject because of how easy it was. He smiled when he heard her name, "Hiromi, what a unquie name. Mines Alec Demetri Stebbins." He noticed she had sunglasses on before, he wondered why because it wasn't that bright out. When she mentioned how he should excel at all his subjects he stared at her. "I do quite well in all my classes, I just get too busy to do the homework when I should and end up doing it last minute," he frowned, "and yes I know I should excel because I'm a Ravenclaw. You sound almost exactly like my parents, they believe that I should excel at every single subject or thing I do. This even includes my hobbies that I like to do for fun."

Hiromi was a bit offended that he didn't know her name already. She loved her popularity after all, and was not thrilled when fifth to seventh year students didn't know who she was, especially when they lived in the same tower with her.
"I don't see what's so unique about my first name?" she said. "It's quite common in Japan. I don't say your name is unique because we lack a number of Alecs in my home country, do I?"
She then listened as he spoke of his subjects and how his parents treated him. Usually, she wasn't a fan of being compared to people's parents, but in this case, she had to agree with Alec's.
"I see nothing wrong with your parents pushing you to do well," she said. "Besides, it could be bloody worse. You could have a mother who not only want you embrace her side of your family, but to reject your father's side."
Hiromi's mother, Satomi Yen, could protest all day about Hiromi telling others about her father, Prince Denjiro Doji, but Hiromi did it anyway if someone inquired. Satomi was ashamed of her relationship with what she now considered a monster. Hiromi wasn't in the least bit.
Hiromi then sighed a bit and gave him a small smile.
"Well I suppose you have a right to use your free time the way you wish to," she said. "I mean if you love what you do in that regard, that should enough motivation. So what do you do?"

Alec frowned when he saw that she agreed with his parents and saw that she was offended that he didn't know her name. "Sorry, I thought your name was unquie because I've never been to Japan and never known a Japanese person," there was a hint of harshnish in his tone. He heard her talking about her mother and then out if nowhere she asked what he liked to do. Alec smile a tiny bit. "I like singing, playing the piano, playing the violin, and reading. What do you like to do?," he looked towards.

Hiromi groaned to herself about Alec saying he thought her name was unique because he had never met a Japanese person. But then she gave a wicked smirk.
"Well I suppose you can put that on your list of things you've accomplished in your life, can't you?" she said.
She changed her tone a bit, however, when he spoke of what he liked to do. His hobbies were admirable. Hiromi did appreciate the arts after all.
"Sounds like you have a great deal of culture," she said. "Are you talented in these things? Of course you are. You're a Ravenclaw after all, aren't you?"
Now it came to what Hiromi liked. Where should she begin. Hiromi liked involving herself in a great deal.
"Well, to begin, I enjoy reading as well," she said. "My mother had me playing the flute for a few years. I'm quite at it, but I find that instrument a bit too unpleasant on the ears. If you are indeed good, I should like to hear you play the piano some time, Alec. I never had a piano in mine home, but I heard my father had a very grand and expensive one. My father's a prince, you know? Which, by all rights, makes me a princess. But I'll never get to enjoy that title, all because my mum is against the idea of me embracing my father's side. But I do." She then laughed a bit. "But I suppose you wouldn't understand anything about being a half-vampire, would you?"
Hiromi obviously didn't know the boy she sat beside was one as well.

Alec laughed as she said that he could cross meeting a Japanese person off his list. "Yeah, I guess I can do that now,"he grinned a bit. He smiled as he talked about his hobbies. "Yes, I suppose I have a lot of culture in my life. Before Hogwarts my main focus was music. My parents loved to enter me in all sorts of competitions," he thought back to all the contests he enter. He tilted his head a bit as she talked about her hobbies and how she would like to hear him play the piano sometime. "Sure, maybe I'll invite you over to my house sometime in the future to show you," he promised her.
When she started to talk about her parents he became interested. Right when she mentioned about her vein a half-vampire he almost jumped up. "You're a half-vampire too!," he couldn't believe that he found another half vampire at this school and she was in his house too. That explained why she was wearing sunglasses earlier, but he never had to wear sunglasses he wondered why she had to wear them.

Hiromi nodded as he spoke of being in competitions.
"Well, nothing wrong with competitions," she said. "I do admire a competitive spirit. I think you have to have one to survive at this school, what with Quidditch being as fierce as it is and obtaining points for the House Cup of course. I do hope Ravenclaws are victorious in winning the Cup this year. Personally I think some of the other Houses, if not all of them cut corners, to obtain their points.
He then promised to show her his playing... and even invited her to his home. She was a bit taken back by this. She had plenty of invites to people's homes, but it was more so they could say they had the super popular Hiromi Yen over. This invitation seemed more genuine. She gave a small smiled and nodded. On a rare occasion, she decided to be genuine too.
"Very well," she said. "We shall arrange that then. That's very lovely of you to invite me, Alec." That was the closest he would get to a Thank You.
Alec nearly startled him when he exclaimed that she was a "half vampire too". Well this was certainly interesting. She hare rarely seen other half vampires at the school, and they were not people she really wanted to talk to. But here she had taken an interest in Alec already, and he was one as well!
"So you're a half vampire?" she asked. And it was obvious from what he had told her that his parents were still together. "And your mother and father still accept each other. My mother hates my vampire father. For a long time, she even lied to me and told me my father her first husband... some Muggle fisherman. But finally she told me my real father was a Vampire Prince. Wasn't happy to find out I was denied the knowledge that I was royalty, you know?"

Alec sighed as she talk about how she agrees with competitions then she began to talk about Quidditch. "I don't know about Quidditch, I've never been much of a sports person. My mother believed that if I played sports then I wouldn't continue with my music, so she kept me away from it at all costs." He smiled as she agreed to his invitation. "Yes, we will surely have to arrange it soon, I hope that you enjoy my piano music." His mind wondered a bit to what song he would play, he thought of a perfect one and smirked a bit. He listened intently as she talked about her family and how her mother hated her father. He was surprised when she asked about with parents. "Yes, my parents completely accept each other, without a doubt. Your parents don't accept each other, how strange." His face switched to a look of concentration as he tried to figure it out.

Hiromi smirked a little when Alec said he wasn't into Quidditch.
"Well, I personally take no issue with you on that, but I wouldn't be spreading it around," she said. "There's people here that breath, eat and sleep the bloody sport. They'd go mad if they ran across someone who didn't care for it. Still, good you have a focus with your music. So many youngsters these days wasting their lives on less productive things." It had to have been amusing, Hiromi referring to one only a year below her as a youngster, but that was an ego for you.
She then chuckled when he said he hoped she enjoyed his music when she came over.
"I should hope I do too, given how you've gone on about how good you are," she said. "We need to make the arrangements for me to come over soon though, with school almost being out. Perhaps if all goes well, you can come over to my home, though I warn you mum is a bit miserable these days."
Hiromi seemed to be a bit emotional when Alec said it was strange that her parents did not get along. She figured he might as well know the whole truth... or at least what Satomi Yen had told her daughter.
"My mum said my father tricked her into marrying him by killing her first husband, some Muggle, and making it look like an accident," she said. "When she found out, she left Japan and came here. She also said my father's clan wanted me dead because I was only a half-breed. But I don't believe any of that. It just sounds like my mum is bitter over the separation. I believe my father will accept me some day, and make me a princess of the Jiang Shi." Hiromi sounded like she was forcing herself to believe this.

Alec laughed as she talked about the Quidditch people at Hogwarts. "I must agree, some people just go crazy over it. Never known why, maybe because their families love the sport. It's just never made much sense to me," Alec smiled as he remembered his dad trying to teach him Quidditch awhile back, he'd faile miserably.
He couldn't help but laught when she called him a youngster. "Oh, so I'm a youngster now. What does that make you then, if I'm youn then you just be old correct?,"he grinned at her.
He nodded silently as she talked about arrangements and coming over to her house. "Yes we must, and I'd love to come over to your house!"
Alec frowned slightly as she told him the whole story about her parents' relationship. "That's awful what your father did to your mother. I've never seen my parents do anything horrible to each other. The worst my dad's done was prank my mother," he concentrated on Hiromi.
