HISTORY: Vincent Ian Powell. He goes by Vinno, or as fortuitously is the case with his initials, V.I.P. He likes to think of himself as important, at least.
He was brought up in a muggle family, by two very loving parents who had no idea about the magical world. He had an older brother, Daniel, and the two were very close growing up. However, at age six, Vincent showed his first signs of magical ability, which came as a big shock to his parents, and badly damaged the relationship that he had with his brother who was not magical at all. His parents received a visit from Minerva McGonagall explaining the situation, and were able to accept it, but Daniel never did, feeling jealous of Vincent's abilities and treating him like he was a freak. This made Vincent feel like his magical ability was a curse rather than a blessing for a long time.
When he received his letter of acceptance to Hogwarts, he accepted it with some trepidation, feeling like he would prefer to cover up his magical ability rather than go to a magical school where it would flourish. However, when he got there, he found that he felt free for the first time since the time he had first shown his magical ability. He was surrounded by other people who could do the same things that he could, and he was able to make friends with them and have a great time. So, he embraced the whole environment, and quickly became a vibrant and energetic guy who many people got to know. He established himself as a jokester, always having a witty comment to make, or poking fun at himself to get a laugh out of others.
Quidditch was a great discovery for him, as he had always loved Muggle sports growing up, particularly basketball, cricket and soccer. The wizarding sport proved difficult for Vincent to get involved with as he had a serious fear of heights - however with practice and persistence he managed to play despite this fear, and eventually got on the house team.
Being extroverted and now very comfortable at the school, he loves to put himself out there and draw attention to himself. He is quite outspoken but is very friendly and easy to get along with.
