Danathon thought he was about the most clever person in the entire school at this moment. His best friend in the whole world, Lyn, was sure to be coming out of the Slytherin Common Room at any moment. The only reason Dan knew where the common room was, was because he had walked Lyn there in the past. Dan waited down the hall, a ways from the entrance and enchanted a snowball into his hand. He snickered as he held the snowball up, just waiting...waiting for Lyn to come out that door.
Dan waiting fairly far down the hall, in order to not reveal to other Slytherins that he knew where their common room was. Truth be told he didn't know exactly where it was, but he knew that Lyn had to walk down this way no matter what if he was to get out of the dungeons. Lyn didn't stay in the Slytherin common room for long, considering the boys spent a lot of time together and it was most definitely not there.
Every time somebody came down the hallway Dan almost threw the snowball, but it was never Lyn. After the fifth of sixth person the snowball had just started to melt, so Dan lowered his hand and dropped it to the ground. After a few moments of breathing hot breaths into his hand and rubbing them together to restore the natural body warmth, he created another snowball and held it up. Ready for Lyn to show himself.

As Cadence crossed by, Dan was sure it was going to be Lyn. He reached his hand up, ready to strike, when Cadence shot him the dirtiest look he had ever seen. Dan let his snowball drop and sighed, "sorry, I'm waiting for-" that's when Dan decided to stop. What if she went into the common room and told Lyn he was waiting? Before Dan had time to form another snowball, a giant bucket of ice poured over his head.
"Holy sh-" Dan shivered as he searched for any sign of where Lyn went. Then he saw him, running for his life down the hall. Dan glanced at the bucket used for the heinousness act and ran like heck after Lyn, laughing. "Good one, Lyn! I'm really quite impressed. Stop running! I just want to congratulate you!" He tried to decide what he was actually going to do. He could toss a snowball, get his own ice bucket, or actually just congratulate Lyn and call it a day.
He would most likely choose that last one, considering Lyn rarely pranked anyone. Dan was honored to be the person Lyn pranked, it was like receiving a literal physical award for being best friends. Dan was so happy he thought that he would cry. Dan found himself shivering even more as the air whipped across his wet hair and clothes, making it even colder. That was a cruel trick, the ice bucket. But it was brilliant. Dan wished he knew a spell to dry himself off and cursed himself for not paying attention in class. Ever.
