The music pounded around the room, coming from seemingly no where and the brunette was loving every last second of it. "Wicked party, Aubrey!" Someone called and she hooted back, jumping on the spot in the middle of the mosh. People milled about, cups in their hands filled with every matter of things. Aubrey's own cup was filled with Fire Whiskey and her head was pleasantly fuzzy. Aubs was singing along and finally moved to the side of the room for a cup of spiked punch as she downed the rest of the whiskey. This was something she did well, party and drink. They were nearing the end of the year and she would toss at least one more of these ragers for the classes that were graduating and those that would see their friends off.
She was known as a party animal through out the school and the Room of Requirement always had what she needed, like it was supposed to. Only kids she had invited would be there and know the password with the notion to bring one or two people with them. She knew most everyone in the room and started dancing with a hufflepuff girl before breaking off to continue her way to the punch bowl. Finally getting there she filled her cup and leaned against the wall, beaming and laughing, eyes dancing. This was amazing and she was having a killer time. The song switched to something almost what some muggles called Techno, she knew this as she had a couple of muggle friends back home, and she whooped, dancing in place. There were a few people left to show and the night was young. She couldn't wait to see who else would show.

Danathon entered the party along with a few of his friends, who headed straight onto the floor. Danathon wasn't much for dancing, or for being part of the group. He liked hanging out on the sidelines. It suited him, made him happy just to watch the others having fun and enjoying themselves. Danathon noticed Aubrey, the girl who was always in the middle of the group, waving that hair around like it was made of glitter. Sometimes it even looked like it was made of glitter. Danathon sighed as he entered the room and one of his friends grabbed his hand before Dan could run to the sidelines, "not this time, Dan!" Dan was fighting the pulling arm of his friend, trying to back towards the wall. "I. Don't. Dance!" he said right before his friend let go of his hand and Danathon went flying, smashing right into Aubrey and her cup of punch.

Aubrey saw Dan come in and waved, she knew just who he was. They were friends and it made her happy to see him there. Honestly, she had hoped he would show. When she watched his friend tug on him though, she winced. He didn't dance, he was always on the sidelines with an adorable smile. She saw it too late to move and ended up with punch all over her shoes as the cup had moved just so, luckily for her. "Well, that could have been worse." she mumbled, looking at her shoes and then gasping and checking over Dan. "Are you okay, though?". She sounded concerned, trying to look him over without being pushy.
She looked over the crowd really quickly and then nabbed a napkin and started to clean the mess. Once she had herself cleaned up she handed some napkins to Dan. "Don't worry about it before you even apologize as that was not your doing." She didn't even look or sound mad, and she wasn't. She was intent on seeing that Dan wasn't upset though. "Good to see you here though, honestly!" She gave him a light hug and refilled her glass after handing him one.

Dan steadied himself by flattening his right hand against the wall beside her head. He placed his left hand over his heart as he looked down at her shoes, "Oh gosh, Aubs!" He said as he looked back up to make eye contact with her. She was so close, their noses almost touched. He leaned back a little in order to give himself a little space to breathe and smiled, "I'm fine, I couldn't imagine anyone better to run into." It was sweet that she was concerned, and it turned out the punch had missed his shirt as well, which was a relief considering it was white. It was one of his favorite white shirts, one he had gotten covered in mud the other day and the house elves cleaned it up nicely for him. Those guys where great!
Aubrey gave him orders not to apologize and made it clear that she wasn't upset with him. He stepped back to let her grab the napkins and took a few to wipe of his hands, which had a little punch splashed onto them. "It's good to see you too!" Dan said as he accepted the hug and the cup she handed him.

Aubrey laughed as he backed off and winked at him. "Careful, wouldn't want me close enough to kiss you." She winked and leaned back against the table. "So long as you're okay. So, who is the crew you came with, some classmates? Clearly they didn't get you're a wallflower." She scowled in their direction, which was odd and rather rare for Aubs to do. Aubrey turned back to Dan and noted he was clean. "Oh good, I didn't get any on you." She felt happy about that and more than a little relieved. "Don't gulp that, sip or you'll end up drunk. Not sure what it was spiked with, I just know it's not poison." Another laugh escaped her as she took another pull of her drink and raised her glass to someone dancing on the dance floor. A very pretty red head who half toasted her back and went back to bopping around. "Mmmmm, friend of mine." Aubrey was watching her like there might have been more, or maybe not.
She took a glance at Dan and grinned like a fox. "It's always good to see you, Dan. We seriously do not spend enough time together." She meant it too, she liked hanging around with the Gryff and it was sad he'd be gone at the end of this year. "Damn you, Dan. What the hell am I going to do after you graduate?!" She huffed and playfully leaned her head on his shoulder. "I'll be lost!" She made some sniffling noises that were obviously faked and looked at him with those bright hazel eyes, all puppy dog eyed. "Take me with you?" She joked and popped her head back up off his shoulder, hooted at someone and giggled like a mad woman at the noise the person made back. She blinked and grinned at Dan. "Party lingo, I'll have to teach it to you!"

Danathon wouldn't mind if Aubrey kissed him, but he wouldn't kiss her first. No way. Aubrey had probably kissed dozens of people right now. He didn't mean that in a judging way, it was just the impression she gave whenever he saw her at the parties. She was very outgoing and flirty with everyone. Danathon wasn't any different, but he was grateful to have her around. Dan shrugged as she scowled at the group that brought him in, that was cute. "Yeah, just a few Huffles that I ran into the other day, they said they heard about the party and we met downstairs a little bit ago," he smiled and waved in their direction but they raised an eyebrow at him because of the glaring girl with him. He didn't mind. It was kind of funny.
Dan nodded and didn't take a drink. He turned to see who Aubrey was raising a glass to, and took the opportunity to set his glass back down on the table nearby. Dan didn't do the drunk thing. He didn't do the drinking thing. He just watched people dancing around and drinking themselves sick. He took care of the ones he cared about, but mostly just stayed a pretty little wallflower. "She's cute uh... yup." he knew Aubrey wasn't just kissing and dancing with guys out there, but that was okay with him. He didn't care what she did, really, as long as they stayed friends he was all good.
Dan relaxed a little a she did that cute fake-crying-I'm-lost-without-you-thing. When she placed her head on his shoulder Dan put his arm around her, "Awe little fox, you'll raise hell just fine without me." He laughed and was a little disappointed when her head popped off his shoulder and she made some strange animal like noises to a fellow partier, he managed to keep his arm around her as she did so. "I'm excited to learn it, it'll serve me well in the real world, I'm sure," he didn't mean to sound sarcastic but it sure came out that way.

Aubrey had thought about kissing him once upon a time and she didn't really kiss many people, like Dan was thinking, not that she knew that. Aubrey however did flirt with a lot of people, but it didn't mean she was serious. She watched him and calculated what she was going to do and decided to leave the boy unkissed as her mind drifted back to another boy. The one she had studied with, that Slytherin boy. "Hmmm, no. I think I won't." She joked and leaned back against the table. She watched him watch the 'Puffs and nodded. "Makes sense, seemed like they didn't know you well. Making you try to dance, yeesh, you'd die." She was picking on him, but he was one of her besties and it was her job to give him flak.
She noted when he didn't drink and sighed. "Do you not drink? Why did I not guess." She playfully scowled at him and dropped the last of her punch and hiccuped. "Yeah, don't be me. I'm pretty tipsy right now." She giggled like a school girl and put her cup down on the table. "I know she's cute. Had her once. Good kisser that one." She winked at him and gently leaned on him again, head on his shoulder once more. "Noooo, it won't be the same without you." She pouted up at him. "You had best meet me in Hogsmeade from time to time." She meant it and her voice reflected that. Little fox was her favorite nickname he had given her and she let no one else call her it.
"You know, I only let you call me that. I punched someone else in the arm for that. Only you get to call me 'Little fox'." She grinned at him and then caught the words and tried to decide whether he meant to sound sarcastic. It could have gone either way. "Gee, look at you, you know Sarcasm! I'm surprised." Hers dripped with it, playfully, but still. "Seriously, though, it might not do you too well, Mr. Wallflower." She was playing and gently nuzzled his shoulder. "Really though, it's going to be weird here without you." Her voice was filled with affection and she looked up to him, kissing his cheek. "I'll miss you." She leaned off his shoulder and poured herself another half cup of punch, knowing her limits.

"Awe, that's too bad." Danathon joked. Truthfully, he had never actually seen Aubrey kiss anyone. He had only seen her flirt with them and get awfully close to kissing. He had experience that himself, more than once, with her. She just loved to have a good time and Dan loved that about her. They had that in common. Life should be about fun, most of the time, when Dan wasn't saving the animals. Dan laughed as she teased him and shook his head, "not die just... get a little freaked out." he said, truthfully. The truth was he wouldn't mind dancing in a room with like three of his friends, just goofing off, but getting out there in the crowd? Dan was to ADD for that, and didn't have the patience.
Her giggling tipsy act was silly, and made Danathon chuckle. "Yup, I don't drink. Never tried a drop in my life," he said with a slow nod of his head. He was surprised when she confessed having kissed that girl and smiled even wider, "maybe I should give her a go?" he joked. There was no way he could kiss the same girl that Aubrey had. That was just confusing on too many levels. It'd be easy to just skip the middle man, girl, all together.
Danathon nodded with a big smile, "Of course I'll meet up with you! I can't let you just sit around and do homework all the time when I'm gone, can I?" He laughed again. He was always laughing when he spent time with Aubrey, especially in a party setting. This was where she really shined, at least did a decent amount of shining.
Dan almost teared up, "Aaaw, you punched someone for me? You are the sweetest!" he spoke in mock thanks, but he really did think it was awesome how she knew that nickname was only for him to give. He was embarrassed the first time he came up with it, but she took is so well that it sort of turned into a sentiment for them. He laughed at her comment toward the sarcasm, "Right? I think I'm growing up,". Dan sighed, "I know, I know. I can't be the silent Wallflower forever. Especially when I got to real clubs, people will want to talk to the new guy."
Her tone changed when she talked about it being weird without him. He knew Hogwarts would be just fine, but would he feel weird without it? Seven years of your life isn't easy to forget. As she leaned up to kiss him on the cheek quickly his cheeks turned bright red. "I'll miss you too, Little Fox," he muttered as she rolled off his shoulder to fill up another glass. He wished she wouldn't drink so much, but then again he's never had to carry her to her room before. She'd done this often and knew what she was doing.

“Oh what, do you want me to kiss you, Dan?” She was watching him, those hazel eyes dancing with barely contained mirth. She sauntered over to him, setting her cup down, purposely trying to rev the older Gryff up. She knew she could with most men, but she wanted to see if she could mess with him, just a little and not out of spite. “Oh, just freaked out?” She was suddenly close to him and had a hand on his chest, her eyes filled with mischief. Then she was gone, back to the table and back to her drink. This one she sipped slowly and eyed him, like she had never walked toward him like a wicked temptress.
Although when he stated he didn't drink she huffed. “Straight edge.” It was mumbled and she looked out over the party, seeing all the happy faces and people just letting their hair down and getting their dance on. A lot of people had paired off, presumably to hook up and hell, that was the way the world went. Aubrey might have done that, but the idea of Sage filled her head. She shook her head to clear it, looking to Dan. “If you want to, you might have a hard time though, lesbian that one. Although if you fancy yourself able to.” She shrugged and watched the red head dancing, seductive and wild. She was exotic to Aubrey, which was what had caught her eye.
Oh good. “Good! I'd come hunting for you if you didn't! I can't be left alone long, you know that.” A chuckle escaped her when he stated he couldn't let her do nothing but homework. “Oh yes, how dare I get good grades consistently when I'm the party queen of Hogwarts.” Another wink and she finished her drink, tossing the cup in the trash. “Don't worry, I know my limits, Dan.” She was next to him again, leaning on him gently, shoulder to shoulder.
“A lot of my friends are leaving this year and it's just hitting me that I won't see your faces around here again.” Her voice was soft and she looked to him, her heart in her eyes. “I'm going to miss all of you, my time is coming too though, this will be me next year about this time, getting ready to leave. Maybe someone will be nice enough to toss me an epic rager like this.” She was being wistful and she knew it, but she felt safe around Dan. Little fox, she wouldn't hear that again for a long while. “I know, your life will be boring without me lighting it on fire.” She laughed, even though she wanted to cry at the thought of her best friend leaving.

Dan shrugged, "No kissing necessary, love. I'm quite content with the nuzzling and other things of the like." He almost couldn't resist those big eyes starting at him and she placed her hand on his chest. He breathed in deeply and let out a soft chuckle, "Gosh, Aubs. I ...whew. I know what you're doing!" He tried to sound confident but he was a teenage boy. How else was he supposed to react to this situation? The beating heart trying to leap out his his chest was proof that he couldn't resist his dear friend much longer. But what was the point in kissing without commitment? Without real attraction? Well, he was graduating this year. What did he have to lose?
He snapped out of it, he couldn't afford to think like that. Plus she was gone in a flash an eyeing him like he was something to eat. He putting a hand over his heart and he other backside of his hand across his forehead, faking a fainting motion. "I think the only person in the world who could get me on that dance floor is you," he admitted.
Dan just laughed as she mumbled about the straight edge, and told her about the lesbian. He really wasn't planning on giving any girls a go, and he wasn't planning on ended his straight edge reign of terror. He laughed at the little nickname he gave himself for his conservatives values. It wasn't really terrible or terrifying though, he just kept to himself.
At this moment Dan turned away from Aubrey just in time to see his bestie, Lyn, walked towards him with a picture in his hand. Oh, no, he thought. That picture could have been of any moment with Dan and Aubrey in the last five minutes. Lyn always managed to snap Dan doing something embarrassing, and since it was a muggle camera Dan knew he wouldn't be able to get out of that pose. He'd be frozen there, forever. Dan really preferred muggle pictures though, they seemed much more honest.
The idea of being hunted by Aubrey was both exciting and terrifying. He decided it would be best to just keep his promise and try to stay in touch with her and see her the best he could. He was relieved when she revealed knowing her limits and tossed the cup aside. She was clever, that one. Dan leaned against her as well as they stood shoulder to shoulder, but he kept an eye on his best friend, just waiting for him to flaunt the picture. "The day you get good grades is the day I start eating meat." Dan joked as he made an :O face at her.
Dan was distracted from his joke by the fact that she was getting real again. He looked down into those side eyes and nodded, "hey, a year is not that long. I'm sure someone will throw you multiple epic ragers. I wouldn't expect anything less for the party queen of Hogwarts." He tried to laugh, to lighten the mood, but it wouldn't come out. He sighed. He didn't know what to saw next. Yes, his live wouldn't be the same without his best female friend to drag him around parties. And yes, he would miss a lot of faces too. But Dan wasn't good at goodbyes.
He felt a tear start to prick his eye, which caused Dan to feel just as confused and shocked as when Aubrey kiss him on the cheek, that he barely noticed Lyn clasp his shoulder and drop a picture into his hand. "OH my-!" Dan nearly jumped three feet in the air as he placed a hand over his heart, which was trying to thump out of his chest. "Lyn! What is this..." he brought the picture closer to his face and saw Aubrey firmly planting a kiss on his cheek and himself looking like he had just seen a ghost. Dan quickly flattened this picture against his chest.
"You sneaky, Lyn. Very sneaky," Dan muttered. His besties timing was impeccable, unreal and impressive. Dan used his free hand to point at Aubrey, "Lyn, you know Aubrey Welles?" he asked, trying to sneakily and slowly move the picture into his pocket before Aubrey saw.[/b]

Aubrey huffed when he didn't fall for her taunting and prodding. "Well you're no fair." She scowled at him and then blinked. "Oh, you do? How in the hell...not fair, you know me too well. I should have known better. Works on every other guy in this place." She swept her eyes over the dance floor and then back to him, her gaze softening. The only person who could get him on the floor? Her? Hmmm, that reeked of potential. "Don't give me ideas, Dan." Her eyes snapped to the boy in the back of the room with the Camera and she tilted her head like a canine and then back to Dan like she had never seen Lyn.
Aubrey might look distracted, but when she was in a crowd she hardly every missed the little things as she made it a point to know where people were. Especially people taking pictures as she was a pro at photo bombing people. "Hey, hey, hey!" She scolded him about the grades. "Start eating meat, you git, I have As and Bs right now!" Her hazel eyes flashed brightly and she sighed. "I'm not that irresponsible." Again her eyes roved the dance floor, having lost the boy with the camera. It unsettled her a little and she was busy looking for him when he showed up.
"Bloody Hell!" She squeaked and shifted into the Silver Fox and darted under the table, eyes golden and wide. When she finally came back to herself she slipped out, shifting back and eyeing Bryce like he was something foreign until her heart stopped hammering. "You're good at that, aren't you?" Aubrey wasn't one to be snuck up on and when she had lost the boy she should have expected it. "Lyn, huh? Like he said, I'm Aubrey...Daaaaan, what was that you just shoved into your pocket?" Suddenly she was on the other Gryff, trying to get what he had stuffed into his pocket. "Show me!" She was giggling again, not worried by Bryce anymore.

Dan snickered as she looked bewildered by his confession of knowing her game, "I've watched you from a distance enough times to know you like heating people up, Little Fox, and I love that about you." He laughed again, she was so silly and crazy, just what he needed during finals preparation. "I wouldn't dream of giving you ideas, but you know, this is probably my last party before graduation." What!? Why was he encouraging her? Dan mentally slapped himself. Did a part of him, want to be forced onto the dance floor tonight?
Dan raised his arms in surrender, "Hey, woah, woah. I'm impressed. No meat for me until you get straight A+'s though," he pouted, "please, don't ever do that. I don't want to eat meat." He was incredibly serious for a moment. If there was one thing Dan was passionate about, more than being with animals, it was the importance of not eating them.
Dan laughed loudly as Aubrey turned into a fox and ran under the table, "there's my little fox!" he chided, as he laughed some more. As she tried to take the picture out of his hand, once she was in human form, he lifted it high into the air above his head and watched her try to reach it. He turned to Lyn, "you made it just in time, buddy. This one was about to make me dance" Dan shivered.

Aubrey grinned at Dan and then sighed, “You know nothing and no I do not...Okay, fine, yes I do.” She beamed and then looked back to Lyn and gave him a calculating look before grinning like the fox she was sometimes as she looked back to Dan. “I would never hold you to that statement. I know you.” Her voice became soft and caring and she gently touched his arm and then squeed with barely contained excitement. “That's right, it is the last party before Graduation and I WILL get you to dance with me, please?” She gave him doe eyes and batted those long lashes of hers. “I swear no one will pick on you if you're dancing with me.” She meant and no one would pick on Dan here anyways. She smirked when he whined to Lyn though and then rolled her eyes a bit when he said he didn't sneak about. “Could have fooled me. I'd seen you on the other side of the room and then suddenly you were gone. Ask Dan, I keep stock of my surroundings at a party and you eluded me pretty damn well.” Gently she grabbed a glass of water herself to come back down out of being buzzed. “Pleasure to meet you, Bryce.” She stopped and then blinked. “would you prefer Bryce or Lyn?” She wanted to be sure and beamed at the boy. “You're welcome to call me Aubs or Aubrey.” When he stated he tutored she nodded. “How are you at Potions?” She hated potions and could use some touching up in the subject. Although when he mentioned Dan was the comic relief she nodded. “It's his specialty!” Gently she leaned on his shoulder and tugged his shirt sleeve, watching him with soft, pleading hazel eyes. She wanted to go dance with him, as she hadn't for a while, since the last small party anyways, and she also wanted to see him break out of his shell. She grinned at Lyn and then tugged on Dan's sleeve again, giving him doe eyes once more. Words: 347 Tagged: DANATHON DANKS CARMICHAEL , @bryce

When she batted her eyes at him and said please, Dan almost started dancing right then and there. How could he resist that little pout and those pleading eyes? Luckily, Lyn saved him just in time. When Lyn suggest Dan was a girl, however, Dan lightly tapped him on the shoulder. "Buddy, you have no idea." Dan felt like a real whimp at a party, and he didn't not wear the pants in his and Aubreys friendship. That was for sure.
Dan watched the sweet little exchange between his best guy friend and his Little Fox. It occurred to him, while they were busy meeting, that maybe that's why he was so attracted to Aubrey, because she was almost more fox than witch at times. Not that he was into foxes, he just liked girls who acted like animals? He shook his head, trying to justify his strange thoughts about Aubrey. She was cute, funny and foxlike. There, that was why he liked being around her so much.
Dan turned to Lyn and made a nasty glare, "Lyn, your presence here is most surely good enough reason not to da-" Dan noticed a tugging on is sleeve and looked down to see those pleasing Hazel eyes as his Little Fox leaned on his shoulder. His emotions almost took over and he nearly kissed her right then and there. It wouldn't have been just a peck on the lips either. An image of him flattening her against the wall and kissing her so fiercely that her head would spin struck his mind. He snapped back to reality and leaned away from her, "Oh no you don't, Little Fox. That's not going to work on me!"
He tried to resist, turning to Lyn with pleading eyes, but his best friends eyes held no mercy for him.
