PERSONALITY: Reliable - Sven is the most dependable person you could meet, working to make sure that he doesn't let anyone down.

Silent - Sven doesn't speak much unless he absolutely has to, as he doesn't feel like he really needs to. He'll say as much as he feels needs to be said when spoken to, but otherwise doesn't speak much outside of the classroom.

Determined - Sven doesn't let anything get in the way of what he sets out to accomplish. He is tenaciously determined to complete what he has to.

Honest - Sven is very honest and will be sure to let you know how he feels about something. He doesn't like lying much as he feels that lying is a waste of breath and time.

Short Tempered - Sven is short tempered, at the very least when someone mentions his wife in a way he feels is negative as he still feels pain from losing her.

HISTORY: Sven was born to parents who were Dutch immigrants to England, being raised in Godric's Hollow. His parents made sure to keep Sven aware of his heritage as a wizard and that his family was pureblooded. The pride his family instilled in him made it easy for him to be swayed into the ideals of Voldemort when he was a student in Hogwarts. He kept relatively quite as he had been a student during a time when Voldemort was starting to return to power. During this time, Sven had been sorted into Slytherin house, sharing the ideals of his housemates. This started to fade noticeably in his fifth year when Sven first met Marina Stevens, who was a Ravenclaw in the same year as him. The two bonded, but Sven was uncertain about being around her due to Marina's opposition to those who supported Voldemort. Eventually faced with a choice, Sven made the riskiest choice possible when Voldemort returned. He sided with Voldemort, something that put a wedge between him and Marina for four years. During those four years, Sven felt remorse quite often when he participated in the activities of the Death Eaters, hiding this remorse in order to avoid death. Ultimately, it was a desire to see Marina again that led Sven to start looking for a way and a time to escape being a Death Eater.

Sven managed to desert and hide from the Death Eaters a few days before the Battle of Hogwarts, taking refuge among the members of the Ministry who were still opposed to Voldemort. After Voldemort's fall, Sven began work to redeem himself in the eyes of the wizarding world and himself, beginning training to become an Auror so as to protect the world from what he once was. His knowledge of Death Eaters and Dark Wizards was instrumental in his early success, also learning non verbal and wandless magic during this time. However his redemption he felt was complete after he married Marina three years after the fall of Voldemort. Seven years later, Matt and Melfina were born and Sven and Marina couldn't have been happier. In 2005 however, tragedy struck when Melfina was kidnapped and Marina was killed by a dark wizard who sought vengeance against any and all Aurors. This loss drove Sven into despair.

Nine years later, Sven was ordered to accept the post of History of Magic professor after being offered it by the Headmaster of Hogwarts as he had disobeyed many orders during the nine years after his wife's death, and now he has become resigned to his new job, unable to search for his daughter or his wife's killer.

Hey there Aaron. I just have a few notes on his application before I accept this.

- What pushed Sven over the edge into deciding to leave Voldemort? You say he just decided but he picked Voldemort over Marina in the first place so something must have kept him there all those years. What made him change his mind? Please mention this in the application.
- He wouldn't have been ordered to take a position as a Hogwarts professor. Hogwarts teachers are asked by the Headmaster to become part of the staff so this needs to be edited.
- Please mention when he obtained his non-verbal and wandless magic skills. If he learned these during his Auror training then that's fine, but it should be mentioned since they are abilities.

Once those aspects are taken care of we'll look at this again. Thanks.

Hey Aaron. Well, you're almost there, but you've missed out the second point about how he won't be ordered to take a position in Hogwarts, they will be appointed by the headmaster/headmistress instead.

And adding a question of my own, knowing that Voldermort is a skilled Legilimens, how is Sven hiding his remorse from him if he hasn't master Occlumency? I can see Voldermort won't be very happy with one of his followers having second thoughts to his every actions. Suggestions for you to either have him mastered Occlumency before he joined the Death Eaters, or perhaps he doesn't have felt remorseful until the big battles (so the Voldermort doesn't have the time to get rid of him)... Maybe Sven realized what exactly are the Death Eaters doing, hence he feel like leaving? Could be him seeing them torture a young student in front of him or something similar? Just a suggestion.

Give this a bump once you've done modifying and we will look through it again.
